My impressions of the Android 7.0 Nougat update for Sony Xperia are unambiguous - it turned out great. Kudos to Sony Mobile developers.
The only real caveat is about the camera app. Still, Sony could have been more diligent in this matter.
More precisely, it was necessary to gather strength and cross out the legacy of past years by creating a new application, simple and convenient. For example, like the Huawei P9, in which the camera application is simplified to the limit, but all the necessary functionality is fully present.
Hopefully, in the spring, at MWC 2017, Sony will present flagships with cameras on really new software.
Otherwise, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Sony Xperia XZ, Xperia X Performance, Xperia X Compact and Xperia X is exemplary.
Sony Mobile has done a painstaking job of porting all the features that Google developers have implemented, including the symbiosis of Doze and Stamina, JIT compiler, dual-window mode, and much more.
Not every manufacturer knows how to so delicately introduce technologies of new versions of Android into the proprietary shell.

Thus, an update for 2016 models is still likely. In addition, the update will allow Samsung not to lose buyers of the previous generation models so quickly.
Android 7 for mid-range Samsung devices
What about less expensive models like and? At the beginning of the year, Samsung actually rolled out another update for previous version so we anticipate that there will be significant delays in the 2016 Android 7 updates for these devices. For mobile phones the "J" line, the update is also not unthinkable.
