First, make sure that your interlocutor is online (this is indicated by the icon green colors). Then highlight the desired contact in your user list, right-click and in context menu select " Start chat ", a special chat window will open. Below you can write your messages and by clicking on the blue button "Send messages"(right), transfer them to your interlocutor.

During the correspondence, in addition to the account name, the time when you sent the message is also indicated. In addition, the names of the chat participants' accounts differ in color, so by rereading what you wrote earlier, you can easily determine who owns a particular phrase.

When you finish chatting, just click on the button "Close" in the upper right corner of the window. In this case, the window will close, but the chat will remain active, that is, you can return to it at any time convenient for you. To do this, in the list of contacts, simply select the user whose chat window you closed, and using the methods you already know, for example by double-clicking, open the chat window again. As a result, the same window will appear with all the messages that you exchanged up to this point.

The chat window contains a lot of additional information. You can change it, adjusting everything to your needs. You can hide all unnecessary elements to increase the space of the message box. To hide the user's avatar and account information, double-click the user status bar containing the account name.

You can change the font and size of the text. To do this, use the command "Instruments"- "Settings" - "Chats" - "Visual design of the chat"... In the window that opens, clicking the button "Change font", you can choose a different font and size.

By default, the window for entering a message takes up little space. This is necessary in order to maximize the display of the message box. You can resize the text box by dragging the border. To do this, move the mouse pointer over the border between the windows, and when it turns into a double-sided arrow, move it in the desired direction while holding down the mouse button.

To express your feelings, emotions during a conversation, you can use various smiley icons. In order to find and insert a suitable emoticon, you must press a special button in the chat window (a face is drawn on the left) and in the window that appears, select the image that is most suitable for the occasion. At the same time, at the bottom of the list, on the left, an emotion is displayed, which this smile symbolizes, and on the right, its symbolic equivalent.

The program stores the history of your conversations. You can verify this by running the commands "Instruments" "Settings" "Chats and SMS" "Chat settings"... Then select the command "Open advanced settings"... In the list "Keep history throughout" select the desired value.

You can also choose not to save your chat history. To do this, you need to select the value "Do not save", and then, to delete previous entries, press "Clear the history".

Now, when you open the chat window at the same time with any user, you can view the history of your conversations. To do this, click on the corresponding command in the message window.

3. Another way to create a group conversation is by using the button Add... After clicking on it, select the command "Create a group conversation", and then drag the users you want to talk to into the upper right window.
