If you don't like standard applications timer or stopwatch, then you can always download a suitable timer from App Store. There are more than enough of them, you will find something for every taste.

The same goes for the camera. There have long been a sea of programs that have many more parameters for taking photos. In the iPhone camera, all these settings are limited for users so that you don’t bother and just take pictures.

The sleep timer is very useful opportunity, which allows you to stop playing any content in built-in or third-party applications on iOS 7 on your iPhone or iPad after a certain period of time. This functionality can be useful when falling asleep to music or video recordings, as well as for any other type of time period control. By using a sleep timer, you don't have to worry about the possibility of forgetting about the device, which will continue to play certain content until the battery is completely drained.

So how do you set up sleep timer in iOS 7 on iPhone and iPad?

1. Decide on the music or video content that will be played in the built-in or third-party application on iOS 7:

2. Open “Control Center” by swiping up from the bottom edge of the device screen, launch the iOS 7 clock application using the shortcut at the bottom of this menu:

3. Select the “Timer” menu in the lower right corner of the screen:

4. Decide on the time period after which content playback should be stopped:

5. Go to the menu for selecting the melody of the timer end signal and select the last item “Stop”:

6. When the timer ends, playback of the music or video will be paused:

Thus, the sleep timer function will significantly simplify the life of an iPhone or iPad user on iOS 7 in cases where it is necessary to leave the device on which music or video content is being played without user supervision, or to control certain time periods.

The standard timer on the iPhone is good for everyone, but it has at least one drawback. In order to see how many minutes are left until “time H”, you need to go into this very timer. And sometimes it’s annoying and even unnerving, especially if you have to control time quite often. Therefore, there is a proposal to consider alternative option a timer that does not have this drawback - the remaining minutes in it are displayed directly on the icon on the iDevice desktop.

Timer Min To Go It is distributed completely free of charge and is very easy to use.

We set the required response time, if necessary, we write explanatory text (in my case this is the word “test”), you can also set additional alerts that there are 5, 15 or 60 minutes left until “time H”. You can enable all three of these alerts.

Among the shortcomings of the application, perhaps I would note a line at the top of the screen that is completely incomprehensible to me, where the icons with minutes are located, and below them is the equivalent in hours. Either this is reference material, or something is not working in the program, but no matter how much I tried to figure out this line, nothing worked. In this case, the leftmost cell of this line just displays the current state, shows how many minutes are left before the timer goes off. I also read in the comments to the application on its page in the App Store that in Min To Go you can set several timers. But I haven't found how to do this. Why did I rely on comments and not on the official description of the program? It's simple: the description is given in Russian, but this is such a stupid and poor translation from English that it is impossible to understand anything there. That's why I had to read the comments.

But overall, the application performs its function with a bang - it’s very convenient when you can quickly glance at the iPhone screen and see the remaining minutes. The application is universal; it can also be installed on an iPad, which does not have a standard timer at all. So it can be even more useful on a tablet than on a phone.

Do you want to take a great photo with your friends - and have everyone included in the frame? the right people, including your beloved self? There is nothing simpler - just activate the countdown. We'll tell you how to do this on an iPhone below.

Even though the function Self Timer It has been included in the Camera system iOS application for quite a long time, many users do not even suspect its existence or do not know what its benefits are. We are in a hurry to correct this annoying flaw - after all, it’s worth it, the quality of your photos will certainly improve!

Using the Camera Timer to Take Selfies and Group Photos

1 . Place your iPhone/iPad on a flat surface, stand or tripod.

2 . Launch the application Camera on your iOS device. You can also launch the camera either from the Control Center (“curtain”, called up by swiping up from the bottom of the screen), or directly from the lock screen (swipe left).

3 . Tap the small stopwatch icon (located to the right of the HRD inscription).

4 . Choose one of two options - 3 seconds or 10 seconds. The first option is suitable for shooting as quickly as possible (you don’t have to run far from the camera), the second is for those shots when you need to run to a group of friends and have time to take the desired pose/facial expression.

5 . Press the shutter button - the white circle on the screen or the physical volume up button - the plus sign on the left side.

6 . The countdown will begin in the lower right corner. It's time to run to your friends!

Done - your selfie or a group photo with friends or loved ones has already been saved in iPhone memory/iPad.

The photographs taken in this way differ more high quality, they turn out clearer, more varied and simply funnier. If necessary, take the resulting result (the button of the same name in the upper right corner in the Photos application) and send it to everyone you care about.

One iPhone feature we all desperately need is a camera timer. It’s great to have a function that allows you to set a delay time before taking a photo, say, 10 seconds. The photographer could set up the camera, set the shutter speed and have time to join the group photo as a souvenir. This feature is widely used by everyone to take pictures of family or friends when there is no one around to fulfill the request to take a photo. The timer function is used so widely by standard and any digital cameras, that it becomes even surprising why Apple company I didn’t turn it on for the camera in iOS.

The good news is that many third-party developers have stepped up to fill this void, and while we wait for an addition to the iPhone's default Camera app (at least we hope), there are plenty of timer apps popping up. We will consider a free option, which is suitable if you rarely shoot and do not want to pay for this pleasure, as well as several paid applications, rich in functionality, for more advanced shooting.

Camera+ is what the main thing should be iPhone app"Camera". Not only does the program have the self-timer option we all dream about, but it also has easy-to-use advanced camera features. Such as focus and exposure controls, which can be adjusted separately rather than together like the default iPhone camera. Simple options to adjust lighting and exposure for various types scenes, the ability to adjust color, temperature, white balance and tone, right in the application. There are several filters, and you also get a grid, digital zoom, a flashlight switch for highlighting portraits, a digital stabilizer, synchronization between others iOS devices and quite good manager to organize your photos. All these additional features go far beyond the timer function, but if you're an avid iPhone photographer, this app is a must-have for your device.
The only drawback of the program is its somewhat limited timer, and since this function is our main goal, we will look at another application that focuses on this option.

PhotoTimer also has a general timer, like TimerCam, but it also includes time intervals up to one minute before starting, offers a grid, and scale settings. Has more artsy editing options, with additional collages, color adjustments, photo frames, effects and best function exchange. The program looks much better than TimerCam, but unless you're an avid photographer and shoot occasionally, it's probably not worth spending the money on. On the other hand, if additional options are necessary, then 66 rubles. - a small amount to add required functions for iPhone camera.

For setting a countdown timer, PhotoTimer is a great solution, but when it comes to photo editing or fine-grained control like Camera+, it's not the best option. You can simply use PhotoTimer's timer feature and edit photos using the Snapseed app, which is free and arguably the best at the consumer level of photo editing. The application is available on iPhone and iPad.

Well, we hope that we helped you decide and choose an application to your liking. We also really hope Apple adds a camera timer feature in the next version of iOS.
