If you are reading these lines, then you have a question: How to set ringtone to Windows Phone 8.1 ?

The instructions below will help you set your own ringtone for Microsoft Lumia 435, 532, 535, 635, 640 and other smartphones of the line.

Setting a melody is very simple:

  • connect your smartphone to your computer
  • upload the ringtone to the "Ringtones" folder (path Computer => Windows Phone => Phone => Ringtones)
  • go to the "Settings" menu on the phone -> "Ringtones + sound"
  • choose the melody you want from the list and you're done!

Anyone who does not have the "Ringtones" folder in the above path, you need to create it manually. Connect Windows Phone to your computer and, like on a regular USB flash drive, create this folder, not even necessarily in the folder with music, you can just next to it.

Important:in order for the melody to appear with 100% probability in your smartphone, before moving it to the “Ringtones” folder, open its properties, go to the “Details” tab, and in the “Genre” tag write “ringtones” (without quotes).

Advice: you shouldn't install the whole song on the call. The best solution will take a favorite section from it, for example, the chorus. You can cut it using any online service for trimming songs, for example mp3cut.ru.

In addition to this service, you can create your own ringtone using the standard "Ringtone Creator" application, which is installed by default on all devices with Windows Phone 8 and 8.1, including Lumiya 435, 532 and 535.

It's also very simple:

In the application, you must click on "select a song" at the bottom of the screen, and select the song that you want to use as a ringtone.

All that remains is to select the desired fragment using the sliders and save it by checking the “Set as ringtone” checkbox.

That's it, Lumia ringtone is installed!

Advice:

You can find cool ringtones in the audio recordings of our Vkontakte group. We will be glad if you share your favorite tunes too!

If you still have a phone with Windows Phone 7 or 7.5 installed, then you can find out how to set a ringtone by reading.

How to put music to SMS in Nokia Lumia? Actually, this is the question that many users ask me. Therefore, I decided to write a complete instruction, which in turn will allow you and your friends to do it yourself.

First of all, I would like to emphasize that this instruction for installing a melody on SMS is compatible only with devices running latest version operating system, i.e Windows Phone 8.1... Therefore, if your smartphone runs on previous version- on 8-ke, in this case, this article does not suit you, since there is a slightly different way of setting the melody.

So let's get over it. The principle of setting a ringtone is quite simple, and it is similar to setting your own music to ringtone in WP-smartphones.

1) Initially, you will need to find an application called "Melody Creator" in the phone menu. In the event that this application does not exist (although this is unlikely), then you will need to download it from the application store and only then proceed to the second point.

2) Go to the application and click "select a song".

3) Find the song that we want to use as a melody on incoming messages.

4) Next, you will need to select the segment of the track that you want to hear as a melody on SMS messages, and click save. Thanks to the developers from NOKIA for saving us from unnecessary hemorrhoids - cutting music on the computer.

5) The melody is created. The main thing is not to click set as a ringtone, since you are going to install it on SMS.

6) Now go back to the settings and find the item "notifications + actions".

7) Scroll to the very bottom and find "Messages".

8) Here we will see several items, including the "Notification Sound" drop-down menu. Click on "default".

Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones have a bunch of standard ringtones, but it's much more pleasant to listen to in quality incoming call favorite track, agree? You can install your melody on Nokia Lumia, Samsung Omnia and other WP-solutions, but you can't do without prompts. In this article, we will show you step by step how to do it.

1. You need to select a composition and crop it so that the final file meets stupid Microsoft restrictions. Any audio editor is suitable for editing. I used the freeware Audacity (). You will most likely need the LAME codec, it is.

You need to add the desired track through File - Open ...;

Select the desired piece of no more than 39 seconds duration (the easiest way is in seconds at the bottom), and then select File - Export selection ... Properties: MP3, 192 kbps, constant bit rate.

An important condition for a ringtone is that it must not weigh more than 1 MB and must be DRM-free.

When saving, the program will prompt you to make changes to the tags. In the genre column, we must prescribe RINGTONE (this can be done in the properties by pressing the RMB or in the Zune itself).

2. If the file is not already in the Zune, then it's time to drag it there. It will be added to the collection, from where it must be moved to the smartphone icon in the lower left part (the phone must be connected to a PC). Synchronization will take place.

3. The ringtone will appear on the phone along the way: Settings - Ringtones + sounds - Ringtone - Customizable. Everything:)

I must say that the Marketplace has several applications that allow you to make a ringtone directly on your smartphone, but they are paid. There are, for example, "Ringtones" - good program allowing you to download music from VKontakte, Skydrive, Dropbox and SoundCloud. I will not say that with its help it is much easier to cope with the ringtone, but you can use it as an alternative. There are also programs with pre-cut melodies, but, unfortunately, the choice there is limited only to popular tracks.

Owners of phones with built-in Windows Phone OS know how to put music on a call ("Nokia Lumiya" - the lineup which we will discuss today) is not easy. What is the reason, why is it so difficult to set your favorite melody to a ringtone, and why are such restrictions imposed by smartphone manufacturers? Only they probably know the answers to these questions. But one should not be upset. He who seeks, as you know, will always achieve his goal. The main thing is not to be nervous, calmly deal with all the intricacies of the matter and come out victorious from the current situation.

Let's try to figure out what is here and how. On "Lumiya" you can put music on a call using the already built-in ringtones. Quite a lot of them are provided by Microsoft. And the manufacturers of phones under the brand name "Nokia Lumiya" flood smartphones with a sufficient number of melodies. But it is much more pleasant to listen to your favorite ringtone and thereby emphasize your taste, style, originality and individuality. So, let's get started.

What is important to know about installing ringtones?

Not all models with the name "Nokia Lumiya" are the same. They have different Windows versions Phone OS. And it can play an important role when setting a melody as a ringtone. If the device has OS Windows Phone 7, then the installation will take a little tinkering. How to put music on a call? "Lumiya 430" and other similar models have one feature, which will be discussed below.

Restrictions on songs for calls

Manufacturers have set the following requirements for melodies that are set as a ringtone:

  • the music file format can be used only MP3 or WMA;
  • the melody must be DRM-free, that is, the media material from which the ringtone will be made is freely available, not protected from downloading;
  • the size of the future signal cannot exceed 1 megabyte;
  • its length is 39 seconds.

If at least one of the above conditions is not met, the ringtone will not be able to download. Such conditions were created not to complicate the life of users, but to protect other people's intellectual property from encroachments. The corporation is reinsured against legal red tape. You never know what.

Making a ringtone for "Lumiya"

In order for the future smartphone ringtone to be loaded onto the phone, you need to cut it. If you remember, it should be no longer than 39 seconds. To do this, you can use one of the many online editors. You can also download one of the applications to your computer, it's easier for someone to work.

After that, load the melody into the program and select the excerpt that you like the most. You need to make a segment, recall, no more than 39 seconds. You don't have to look for a stopwatch to do this. Typically, these editors have a timeline. It should be noted that the passage can be cut from any place in the composition, for example from the chorus or somewhere at the end, it does not matter at all. You need to select your favorite passage by dragging the menu sliders to the desired position.

After trimming, you need to "make friends" the melody with the operating system.

Entering Ringtone Information

If the desired section is ready and saved on the PC, you can proceed to the next step. The most simple solution the question of how to put music on the call on "Lumiya" will be the following algorithm.

  1. The first step is to launch the Zune app on your smartphone.
  2. Then you need to connect the device to your computer using a USB cable.
  3. Move the saved tune from your PC to the Zune software. After dragging and dropping, a short song will appear under the name "ringtone".
  4. Right-click on the specified file and select "Change" in the menu that appears.
  5. Now you can edit data about the future ringtone: come up with a name, indicate a group or artist of the song, any other information.
  6. The most important point in this filling process is the "Genre" column. In this field you need to enter the word ringtone in Latin letters without quotes or brackets.
  7. The final step will be to save the changes made. To do this, you just need to press Enter or click OK.

Synchronizing the edited passage

Almost everything is already ready, and we figured out step by step how to put music on the bell on Lumiya. Now you need to install the melody on your phone. To do this, right-click on the desired file and select the "Synchronize with ..." section. Here, in place of the ellipsis, the smartphone model should be displayed.

If the synchronization was successful, then your creation can be found in the melodies folder in the "Custom" section. You can find it by going through the path: "Settings" - "Melodies-sounds" - "Ringtone". Next, the standard ringtone setting is performed.

Ringtone for smartphones with Windows Phone 8

Naturally, not everyone will use the above method, and even more will like it. In the modern world, users are accustomed to getting a quick result: wanted, clicked, received. Therefore, the need to cut a melody, transfer it from a computer to a smartphone and only then take steps to set a ringtone in most cases causes at least indignation. It is clear that such a murmur reached the manufacturers of smartphones and developers of the operating system for phones. Of course, they did not change the intellectual property policy, but they solved the problem in a different way: they created a program that makes life easier for impatient users. Here is another way to put music on the call on Lumiya. The official website says that there are no restrictions on the duration of the melody for a call, but practice shows otherwise. Without tempting fate and not wasting our nerves, we will figure out how to put the music on the call ("Lumiya 535" or similar models require such an algorithm).

"Melody Maker", or Saving Nerves

If your smartphone has a version of the operating Windows systems Phone 8 and higher, the simplest answer to the question of how to put music on the call ("Lumiya 520" or another close model can get more individuality in this way) is to use special program... This app is called Ringtone Maker. It is present immediately in the factory settings of the device. If there is no such program in the smartphone, it is easy to find it on the manufacturer's website and download it to the phone. For safety reasons, to avoid unnecessary headaches and possible problems in the operation of the device, we strongly recommend using only the official website of the manufacturer. In order to set a melody as a ringtone on a smartphone, you need to do the following operations.

  1. Go to the menu and find this program.
  2. Find the "Melody Creator" section.
  3. Then you need to find the section "Choose a song". This menu will open a list of all the songs that are located on this phone model: melodies on the device itself and songs that are present on the flash drive.
  4. Next, you should select the option you want from the list provided by simply clicking on its name.
  5. After that, a section will open in which you can cut the desired passage. The rule of 39 seconds has not been canceled, however, in this version of the program you can select a segment of the composition 40 seconds long. A little, but you do not need to do all these steps on a computer, and thanks for that.
  6. The final stage after choosing the desired part of the melody will be saving it to the smartphone. To do this, you need to click "Save" or put a tick in the "Set as ringtone" box.

Everything, a new and for some time favorite ringtone is ready to use.

Alternative option

In the new versions of Lumiya smartphones, one more option for installing ringtones is possible. In this case, the length of the composition does not matter. For example, consider the Lumiya 540 model. How to put music to ring on it?

Installation Algorithm

  1. Download the WindowsPhone application.
  2. Using the instructions, install this program on your PC.
  3. Launch the application and select the desired song.
  4. Transfer the melody to your smartphone, preferably in the Ringtones folder.
  5. The saved melodies will thus be in the "Customizable" section.

All is ready. You can use the ringtone as a melody for general calls or set to call for a specific subscriber.

For the lazy or for those for whom none of the methods suits

In extreme cases, there is another way to set a ringtone. There are a sufficient number of sites on the Internet on which people were not lazy, adjusted the melodies to the requirements and uploaded already cut compositions to the Network. You can easily find them and upload them to your smartphone.

Various difficulties can arise when using a smartphone. Especially if the user has purchased a device running Windows 10 Mobile for the first time (learn how to update your Windows smartphone Phone to the latest OS version, see Microsoft app to help you update your device to Windows 10 Mobile).
