Allowing installation much faster than ever! Let's find out how to install a mod for Minecraft PE in .mcpack format:

  • Download the mod itself, that is, everything necessary files in format .mcpack or .mcaddon
  • Open the folder with the downloaded files
  • Try opening the downloaded mod (just click on the file in .mcpack or .mcaddon format)
    • It often happens that you can’t open a mod on your phone. In such a situation, we recommend that you download
    • Open File manager, find the downloaded mod and activate it. It's simple!
  • At this moment, the installation of the mod on your phone will begin. You will see a black screen for a while. You will have to wait for the installation to complete.
  • Don't forget to apply the behavior and texture packages you need in the map settings. (How to do this?)

ZIP .RAR
The second most popular mod format for Minecraft Pocket Edition is ZIP or RAR. These are ordinary archives, the installation of which takes a little more time than MCPACK or MCADDON. Let's go directly to the instructions:

  • First of all, you need to make sure that you have installed the latest (or simply suitable for modification) version of Minecraft Pocket Edition.
  • Download the archive with the modification you need. In the example below you will see the installation sequence of the More Chairs addon.
  • For the next steps you will need good guide, with which you can unpack the archive. We recommend using . All downloaded files can be found in the “Downloads” folder
  • Using Explorer, you need to unpack the downloaded archive. Unpack the archive using the functions of the File Manager program.
  • Open the folder created after unpacking the archive.
  • Depending on the changes made by the addon, the archive may have 1 or 2 folders inside. If the mod does not have its own textures, you will only see one folder, but most often you will see 2 folders.
  • Next step- copying. Let's start with the More Chairs by Genta folder. Select a folder and click Copy.
  • Open the following folder: /games/com.mojang/. To do this, you will again need a File Manager. Open your internal storage, games folder, then com.mojang folder. Here are the files related to Minecraft PE. What are all these folders used for? Full list:
    • behavior_packs - Behavior packages, that is, mods.
    • minecraftpe - We do not recommend touching this folder.
    • minecraftWorlds - Maps are installed using this folder.
    • resource_packs - Textures. Paste all the textures you need into this folder.
  • Open the resource_packs folder and paste the copied folder (More Chairs by Genta).
  • Go back to the Downloads folder and copy the second More Chairs by Genta folder in the same way.
  • Next, go back to the /games/com.mojang/ directory, open the behavior_packs folder and paste the copied folder.
  • Launch Minecraft PE game.
  • Open Settings Game world. To do this, create a new world or open a change to an existing one.
  • Scroll all the way down in Settings. Open the Texture settings, select the desired textures and activate them.
  • Then open the Behavior Packs settings and activate your mod in the same way.
  • Ready!

Today I will tell you how to install a mod on the Minecraft client. If you already know how to install mods on the client and want to learn how to install mods on the server, then a separate article has been written for you: “How to install mods on the Minecraft server.”

So let's get started, mods are divided by type into 4 types, by installation type:

The first is independent mods, which are independent, they do not depend on any API, that is, they can be installed themselves, then there are mods that require only one API, for example ModLoader.

The third type is mods that require several APIs, an example would be IndustrialCraft. The fourth type is mods that are installed through a patcher, we will talk about them separately.

Having learned how to install mods on the Minecraft client, I think everyone can then teach their friend how to do this, but now I will try to clearly and intelligibly explain how to install a mod on the Minecraft client.

1. To install mods, you also need several third-party mods, without which other mods simply will not work. Third-party mods fall into the auxiliary category. So, the first mod that will help us is, in fact, it is a launcher for other mods, and also, which will play sound effects from third-party mods, you can, of course, do without it, but playing in silence is somehow not fun.

2. The actual installation takes very little time:

Open the folder in Explorer using the following path:
For operating room Windows systems 7, 8 or Vista, this will be the path: Partition of your hard drive:/Users/User/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/bin, and for XP: Partition of your hard drive::/Documents and Settings/User/Application Data/. minecraft/bin, where the user is, this is your account on this computer, for example, for me it is called Admin.

After this, open the bin folder, in this folder there will be a minecraft.ja file, select the file, right-click, select open with and select your archiver, in my case it is WinRAR.

Attention: After this step, delete the “META-INF” folder, which is located in the file we opened. If you do not remove it, then when you start the game you will not see anything except a dark screen.

Now you can copy the mod itself, or rather all the folders and files of the mod that you are installing. As you already understood, you need to copy them to the minecraft.jar file, if suddenly during copying a window appears asking you to replace files or folders with the same name, then we agree with the request and replace these files.

So, with how to install auxiliary mods for Minecraft, everything seems to be clear, if not, then ask your questions in the comments. I will continue to tell you how to install the mods that you want to see in the game.

Again we go to the Minecraft game directory, open the bin folder, and do not forget to do backup file minecraft.jar, so that if something happens, you can roll back the changes, if you forgot to make a copy, then you can here. We open this file, again in the same way as above with the archiver, also open the folder with the downloaded mod.

With a 99% probability there will be a “resources” folder there; it must be moved to the game directory with the same name. After that, select all the files and folders from the archive with the mod and copy them to the minecraft.jar file, not to the “resources” folder, but to the root of this file. If it becomes necessary to replace files, we agree and replace them.

Attention: If you have not yet deleted the "META-INF" folder from the minecraft.jar file, then it's time to do it, I remind you once again, do not forget to delete this folder.

This step is all, the mod is completely installed.

Some Important notes on installing mods:

The most common mistake that newbies make is that they do not look at the version of the mod and the version of the client for which it is intended before installing. If the versions match, then you can safely install the mod, the same applies to mods such as . If you see that the versions do not match, then, as they say, you don’t have to worry about it, the game will 100% not start.

There is also such a thing as incompatibility between installed mods. Some mods conflict with each other, perhaps they even work together, but they are not stable and the game may lag. If, according to my guide for installing mods for Minecraft, the installation of this or that mod does not work, then look in the archive with the mod for the file “Read.txt” or “Readme.txt”, perhaps this particular mod has a specific installation that is different from the generally accepted one .Then this file is guaranteed to have its own instructions for installing the mod.

Important: I do not recommend installing on Minecraft client with mods, texture packs from a third-party manufacturer, since most likely they will not appear in the mod, or rather, you simply will not see them. If you install a mod that, according to the description, should add items or blocks, but these items do not appear, then you can try to fix this problem as follows:

We are looking for the file .properties or .props, or a roughly similar name, then in this document you need to find the line where the item IDs are written. After this, you need to change the ID to another, for example, the standard block number (11), modified (2315). After that, save all the changes, it may or may not work. I can’t give any guarantees here.

Warning: Please note that the number of mods for the game Minecraft is so large that it is difficult to describe how to install all the mods. I will note only a few features. Some mods are in .zip format and to install them you just need to copy this mod to the .minecraft/mods folder. Some mods also require the installation of other auxiliary mods, such as: , and so on.

If you have any questions, watch the video, I think the questions will disappear!

  2. Open the file called “minecraft.jar” using some archiver, if you don’t have one, then the solution to this problem was described above. The file location was also indicated for various OSs a little higher.
  3. After this, all that remains is to move all the files from the archive with the ModLoader program to “minecraft.jar”.
  4. Now you need to open the archive with the mod necessary for installation and copy the files from it to “minecraft.jar”.

There are, of course, mods for Minecraft that do not require installing various third party programs. Very often, their installation is prescribed separately on the page where the mod itself is located. And the specifics are slightly different from the standard mod installation.

When downloading mods from third-party resources for the game Minecraft, it is recommended to beware malware, which, in turn, can cause significant harm to your personal computer. Also keep in mind that some mods can successfully conflict with each other, since they are created on the same platform, for this reason even the game can, roughly speaking, “be covered.” Therefore, if you like to “play around” with mods, then make a Minecraft Backup from time to time. And, of course, you cannot install a mod if its version is different from the version installed on your PC Minecraft games. Nothing good will come of this.

Modern fans computer games They are passionate about modding. This gives you the opportunity to participate in improving your favorite toy, add something new and fresh to its plot, and work on the characters. The introduced models can be created independently or downloaded from the Internet, replacing the default ones.

Find the game mod you are interested in on the Internet, preferably one of the latest versions. To do this, go to the mod developer's website and see which version is the most current. Download the archive with the mod. Usually mods are located in archives with the extension .rar or .zip. Unzip them into separate folder using an archiver program (7Zip or WinRAR, respectively). Inside the folder there will be files necessary to install the mod, usually with the extension .esp, sometimes .esm.

Read the instructions carefully; they are often included with the mod in the form of a Read Me file. A little knowledge English language will be sufficient for this. Make a backup copy of the game, as in trying to improve the game you may destroy it by changing the database unsuccessfully. Manual installation of the game is carried out according to the instructions.

Review your game's folder structure. Typically, games are installed by default in the C:\Program Files\ folder, followed by<название игры>/< папка игры>or on local disk C:\ in the root folder if you did not change the folder when installing the game. Most often, mods are distributed in such a form that the user can simply copy them to the game folder and that’s it.

Often mods have their own installer. Then the implementation of the mod will be much easier, without your intervention. The installer will find the installation folder itself, and will perform the entire process of inserting the mod for you. For example, when installing a mod for popular games created on the Source engine (for example, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, etc.), find the gameinfo.txt file in the archive folder; if it exists, then this is a source mod. Place it in the game folder in the SourceMods subfolder. Create such a folder if it does not exist. Restart the game and launch the new mod like a regular game from the list in the “My Games” folder.

Install mods only from trusted sites, preferably on official licensed versions of games. When installing several mods for the game, copy and unpack them into the same folders so that the files are not duplicated, create one general mod. Remember that some mods may conflict with each other, carefully study the instructions for mods and do not forget to backups games to restore them if necessary.
