Another campaign, which has become very popular in our days of crisis, is being held by the MegaFon operator. It involves cheap chinese smartphone ZTE Blade A3 (black and white).

I must say right away, despite the “non-operator” name, the smartphone is locked (SIM-lock) and only supports standard MegaFon SIM cards. This is despite the fact that the model has slots for 2 SIM-cards with their simultaneous operation.

Smartphone for schoolchildren for 1990 rubles

The essence: from August 17 to the end of September as part of the "For First Calls" campaign, you can buy a ZTE Blade A3 smartphone for 1,990 rubles, if you add another "Bonus 500 rubles to your account" to your active MegaFon network number.

That being said, the quote:

A bonus equal to the provided discount is credited to the account of the MegaFon subscriber and is used within 90 days from the date of enrollment. The credited bonus is used to pay for any communication services of the MegaFon operator, with the exception of international roaming, payment for services of content providers, paid services third parties, mobile transfers and payments ”.

It's simple. Total for the check: 2,490 rubles.

Characteristics ZTE Blade A3

The Blade A3 smartphone is, of course, extremely budgetary. I repeat: extremely!

Processor - 1-core with a clock frequency of 1 GHz on the Spreadtrum SC7715 chipset. Graphics accelerator - Mali-400 MP. The size random access memory- 512 MB, internal - 4 GB (with support for microSD cards up to 32 GB). The display has a diagonal of 4 inches, a resolution of 480x800 pixels, a TFT matrix. The main camera is equipped with a 5 MP sensor with LED flash, but no autofocus. There is no front camera. The model supports 3G networks (download up to 7.2 Mbps, upload up to 5.76 Mbps), 4G does not. There are GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (stereo). The battery capacity is only 1200 mAh (very small).

Smartphone comes with Android 4.4 OS. Dimensions - 125x65x13 mm, weight - 121 g.

As you can see from the presented characteristics, the ZTE Blade A3 smartphone is clearly designed for the most unpretentious audience, for example, primary schoolchildren, for whom, often, it will be the first model in their life (just under the slogan - "For the first calls") ...

Is this a profitable purchase for 2 kilo rubles? I can say one thing: this antique is no longer worth it. Its place is a dump or the Polytechnic Museum.

A small 7-inch tablet with a capacitive screen and very attractive features. Strongly "matured" version of ZTE V9, which we are more familiar with under the brand name "Beeline M2". Fortunately, this is not about cosmetic tweaks and improvements, the tablet has changed radically. In fact, we are talking about a product for the same purpose, but at a higher level.

MegaFon remained the only operator of the Big Three without its own branded tablet. MTS successfully traded the Huawei S7 model, now it sells the ZTE V9 with a capacitive screen under the brand name MTS 1055 for 9,990 rubles. Beeline has traded and continues to trade the ZTE V9 tablet with a resistive screen under the brand name M2. The screen is of the same resolution, but worse (resistive), the price is 8,900 rubles. Now Megafon has acquired a "missing link" in the line of its branded equipment.

The event may well become, if not a landmark, then very noticeable for our market of "small" budget tablets. According to its main characteristics, MegaFon ZTE V9 + looks more attractive than competitors' models, and this is natural, since the device is "fresh". The main difference is the high screen resolution, 1024 x 600 instead of 800 x 480. At the same time, the estimated price is 9,900 rubles. close to the Beeline tablet and even slightly lower than the price of the MTS tablet. That allows us to hope for a significant reduction in prices for 7-inch tablets with a 800 x 480 screen. Most likely, price reductions are not far off: Beeline has been selling M2 tablets to its long-time loyal customers at a discounted price of 5,400 rubles for some time.

For whom

During the time that has passed since the review of the M2 Beeline tablet, my attitude towards the positioning of these devices has hardly changed. Therefore, I would venture to repeat the paragraph written earlier with minimal changes and additions. In the wake of the popularity and desirability of iPads, it is customary to compare any tablet with this undoubtedly successful product of Apple. The intonation of most reviews is also appropriate, from "... a candidate for the iPad killer ..." to "... of course, this is not an iPad, but look at the price!". I would venture to argue that the positioning of devices with a 7-inch screen is very different from the "adult" tablet with a large screen, and it is not entirely correct to consider these devices as a "tablet for the poor".

Many are considering purchasing an Android tablet for cost reasons. The price tag is a serious argument and there are many such buyers. The second, no less important category of consumers is looking for a comfortable replacement for a smartphone, for them a 7-inch screen will easily fit. People selflessly fill the memory of smartphones with various applications, admiring the fact that the baby phone is so smart, perfect and can do so much. Then comes the understanding that the active use of all this happiness trite strains. Eyes get tired, uncomfortable and unproductive. The standard explanation and the same excuse is a compact smartphone, and for serious and more or less constant work, there are laptops, netbooks and iPads. And if you have to dig a lot in the network and documents on the way, but at the same time you are reluctant to carry an extra device with you?

Smartphone manufacturers are making our toys more powerful, more compact and more perfect. In fact, forcing us not only to pay a lot of money for the miniature "fancy" technology, but also to pay with our own vision and headache for using the capabilities of these devices. And all this in order to more or less fit into the weight and dimensions of a familiar phone, because otherwise it will no longer be a smartphone, but something bulky and incomprehensible. Here, a 7-inch tablet is this "something incomprehensible". In essence, it is a huge smartphone, in which visual comfort and ease of control are priority, and weight and dimensions are sacrificed. If you have to spend more time on the network, with mail and documents than talking on the phone, then the option is interesting. It is from this perspective that I personally view 7-inch tablets. And I think comparisons with iPads and netbooks are far-fetched, these are completely different devices.

According to the results of recent correspondence with the owner of such a tablet, we can add that with a price tag "around" 6,000 rubles. The 7-inch tablet fits well into the consumer car navigator niche. Actually, why not? In any case, the expansion of the price range "down" will be welcomed and new areas of application for such devices will be found. For example, why not a multifunctional, educational and entertaining toy for a child?

Equipment, materials and assembly

1.5 A charger for microUSB connector, connection cable(USB-microUSB), wired headset (headphones and microphone), microSD card 2 GB (already installed), "User Guide" and warranty card. It is almost useless to charge the tablet from the USB port of a computer; it may not fully charge overnight. A cheap "consumer goods" charger will torment the tablet for 5-6 hours, also not a gift. From a relatively powerful complete charger The tablet is charged in three hours when turned off and in 3.5 - 4 hours when turned on.

The tablet is covered with a usual black plastic cover, without any pretensions or attempts to look like aluminum. It snaps tightly, nothing loosens or moves. Taught by bitter experience, he removed the lid carefully and consistently around the entire perimeter, this time without damage.

The plastic of the back cover is matte, a little rough to the touch and does not strive to slip out of the hand. But to heighten the effect, they could have made a soft touch surface, for such a large device it would be very useful. On the other hand, the volume rocker and the multifunctional power button are not very distinguishable. Black on a black background is much worse guessed than silver on silver.

An almost imperceptible, but valuable side has not gone anywhere, it is also present in this model. Effectively protects the screen from scratches when placing the tablet face down on the table. In general, structurally, the device is no different from its younger brother M2, the controls, speakers and sockets are the same.

Naturally, in black, but there are no other differences in the design. So for more details on the welcomes to our September review. /articles/2011/bee-m2.shtml

Of the significant differences - front-camera 0.3 mpx (640 x 480, VGA), in Beeline M2 it is not. The image quality from such a camera is very sad, you understand, but it will do for transferring a picture with your own physiognomy.

Screen

In general, I was very pleased, the resolution of 1024 x 600 turned out to be exactly what the doctor ordered for a tablet with a 7-inch screen. The colors are bright, the photos and pictures are crisp, the fonts are perfectly legible. Multitouch works smoothly, without jerks.

The screen swiveled at a variety of angles, the effect of an abrupt color inversion does not occur and the display is readable at different angles. Unpretentious. The brightness margin is quite sufficient, although it was not possible to check the behavior of the screen in the bright sun due to its absence. I was pleased with the smooth and imperceptible auto-brightness control, but in the daytime outdoors, most likely, this mode will have to be turned off and brightness added manually. It seems that the range of auto-adjustment "up" is pretty much cut to save battery life.

However, we will always find a reason to grumble. This time I will grumble about the color rendition, the display is slightly bluish and the normal white balance is visible only at excessive brightness levels. However, at the end of the second day of communication with the tablet, you get used to the "cold" spectrum. I have not seen soft solutions for color calibration of displays, but if there are any, please write.

Parameters

The list of parameters is taken from gsmarena.com, although there are some differences. The version of the operating system MegaFon V9 + - Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, processor 1 GHz.

The difference between the actual device and the description given is in the cameras. In MegaFon V9 +, the main camera is not 5, but 3.2 mpx, plus there is a front camera of 0.3 mpx.

Impression

The most positive feeling from the operating system. The user has access to about 2.5 Gigabytes of memory for installing programs, and this immediately solves all the problems of lack of "valuable resource". You can safely forget about dancing with a tambourine around the destruction of excess pre-installed software, do not drag and drop programs onto a memory card, do not clean program caches, etc. In general, you can just use it and have fun.

Finally I saw firsthand how operating system must "deal" with memory itself in the process of work. The available real volume of RAM in the "pathetic" 336 Megabytes was alarming at first, but even with the sequential launch of heavy applications, everything did without gags and freezes. Not sure what to use special programs to free up the device's RAM.

I have already written about the positive effect of high-resolution screens. Above is a piece of text from the main page of Mobile-Review, the font size is minimal.

The same piece of text on a display with a resolution of 800 x 480, the difference is obvious. In practice, high resolution saves a certain amount of time in the process of viewing sites with a complex structure; you can do without enlarging areas with small text.

It also affects the clarity of the maps, the difference is also striking. Resolution is not so critical for watching movies and photos.

The camera is a problem. A very, very mediocre 3.2 mpx matrix, used in Beeline M2, successfully migrated to MegaFon V9 +, alas. Moreover, in M2 they work even more or less tolerably manual settings-scenarios (incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, daylight, etc.), plus auto-mode at least outside in the daytime gives good results. In MegaFon V9 +, the auto-mode is often "mismatched", and manual settings do not allow you to achieve a decent result.

I don't even see any reason to lay out garlands of pictures for analysis and comparison, they look sad. Especially in auto mode.

However, sometimes you are lucky and in manual mode you can get a picture with a more or less natural color balance.

For some reason, the device is good at taking pictures in manual mode with the setting of the "incandescent lamp". Naturally, under the light of incandescent lamps. Okay, enough of the sad stuff.

There are no complaints about the radio part of the device. It clings to the 3G network confidently and holds on to it well, albeit somewhat worse good modem... We overdid it a bit with WiFi: the device shows the presence of a signal and continues to hold on to WiFi network even when the data is no longer able to receive and transmit.

But with the jump from 3G to 2G, on the contrary, he strives to "escape" to 2G when he could still work in 3G. But these are all minor features, I did not see any real reasons to find fault.

In portrait mode, the on-screen QWERTY keyboard is clearly narrowed and inconvenient, but this is due to the specifics of the Russian language, which has too many letters. The English version is quite comfortable.

The mail client seems to have become more correct in displaying the formatting of letters and now it is not necessary to open even attached files, everything is perfectly readable in the body of the letter.

There are many applications pre-installed by the operator, but not all of them are vital. Well, you understand me. Of the obviously useful ones - the preinstalled and normally working Multifon. From useful-funny - an application for finding the nearest point of sale and service. Lists the nearest points, sorted in order of distance from the current location of the owner of the machine. It also indicates the distance to the point and shows the mark on the map.

Summary

A comfortable screen resolution is a big and bold plus, it is pleasant to look at and the eyes do not get tired. Second hallmark I would call the device trouble-free, MegaFon V9 + was made for lazy people. Perhaps the first Android that I have visited, which does not need to be "finished" for comfortable and trouble-free work. And even such a desire does not arise when everything is already working normally. Although I fully admit that I am not a demanding consumer.
