One of the most popular ways to support interest in smartphones already on sale is to release a new body color, because it can also push people to buy. A recognizable example is Apple with its Product Red series, but others use the same technique. And since we talked about why not show us what the Galaxy S9 + looks like in Burgundy Red?

First of all, it should be noted that Burgundy Red is not a new color for the company. Last year, the Galaxy S8 / S8 + came out in it, also a few months after the start of sales.

Burgundy is a popular color that can be described as a blend of burgundy with purple undertones. It is also a well-known wine region in France, so the characteristic “wine” will also work, connoisseurs of red will find many familiar shades.

Depending on the lighting in the color, you can see both more violet tones (under artificial lighting) and saturated reds (sunny color). If you look closely, you can see a very fine texture of the material under the glass, thanks to which the device “plays” a little in the light, but in life Burgundy Red is perceived as solid.

I don't know if you can call Samsung Galaxy The S9 + in this color is purely feminine. Companies are trying to create "unisex" colors that suit everyone equally well, and their perception depends only on a personal point of view. In any case, it turned out beautifully and original.

The rest of the smartphone in the color Burgundy Red is no different from the Galaxy S9 +, about which we at the beginning of the year. It complements a palette of signature black, gray and purple in which the device ... Together with Burgundy Red the company S9 / S9 + in Sunrise Gold.

From April Galaxy line S managed to get a little cheaper - now the official cost of smartphones for 4/64 (S9) and 6/64 GB (S9 +) is 26 and 30 thousand hryvnia, respectively, you can still find versions with 6/256 GB of memory on sale - you have to pay 32 for them thousands of hryvnias.

More and more often, fakes from China began to appear on the market recently. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is very difficult to counterfeit for the masters from the Celestial Empire, since the shape of the screen is expensive. But still there are craftsmen for whom this does not become an obstacle. You can buy a fake if you order a smartphone on the Internet and not from the website of an authorized dealer. You can also encounter a non-original when buying on the Internet with hands. If you can look at the smartphone live and hold it in your hands, you can very easily distinguish the original from the "left" product.

Why you shouldn't use a fake

  1. Operating system. All the phones coming to us from friendly China? as the settings language have Chinese. Yes, with the help of programs, for example, MoreLokale, the phone can be Russified, but not completely.
  2. Characteristics. Despite the fact that China has cheap labor and materials, the wrong materials are used when counterfeiting smartphones. Therefore, a fake will never have the same battery as the original, and there is no need to talk about cameras and a stabilizer.
  3. Guarantee. When buying an original, you can always contact service center and repair under warranty, most often free of charge. When buying a fake, you will not receive any guarantee and in case of any malfunctions, you will have to repair it at your own expense. Cheap materials used for the production of fakes very often do not withstand voltage surges and charging or the phone may simply "burn out".

Original charger for Samsung and fake

How to distinguish an original from a fake

These are the main signs by which you can distinguish the original Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge from a fake. It is also worth checking all the inscriptions for correct spelling, as well as making sure that all the components for the smartphone that you are buying are present. You can always see what the original looks like and what should be included on the official Samsung website.

Previously, scammers only faked the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note... In 2018, counterfeits of any series appeared, including A and J.

What is the difference between the original device and the fake

Component quality

Original smartphones and tablets are made from components highest quality... Samsung equips flagship devices with the best components at the time of their release: displays, processors, cameras, memory modules and other parts. Most of them are the company's own developments. Thereby Samsung devices every year they receive many awards and high marks from buyers.

Fakes are made from outdated and cheap parts. As a result, replica flagship devices perform worse than original Samsung budget devices.

Software quality and safety

Samsung carefully checks software for their devices: first with its own testing department, and then with the help of Google, the creator of Android. Thanks to this, smartphones and tablets work quickly, they can safely use mobile banks, add cards to payment services and store personal photos. Samsung continues to take care of software updates on its devices after they are released by releasing new firmware and security updates.

Fraudsters do not worry about the quality of the software - if only the device is turned on. No one prevents them from installing spyware or phishing software for fake, which will steal photos, contacts, bank card details, passwords and other data. Counterfeits do not pass any certification. Nobody updates them and does not monitor the security of the software.

Branded services and functionality

Original devices have branded services, many of them have no analogues. For example, Samsung Pay, which allows you to bind a bank card to your smartphone and pay for purchases through almost any terminal.

Not a single branded service will work on fakes.

Availability of a guarantee

All original Samsung devices have a guarantee: the factory defect will be fixed free of charge.

There is no guarantee for a fake: it will not be replaced or repaired, even if it breaks the next day after purchase.

Where fakes are sold

Most of the fakes are sold by hand and on free classified ads sites.

Hand sale

Near a metro station, a railway station, or a large store, a man comes up to you and offers to buy a smartphone or tablet at a clearly low price, explaining the discount by an urgent need for money. Usually there is even a receipt and a warranty card. The seller is in a hurry, constantly talking to you, does not allow you to concentrate and consider the device properly. He can tell that all his money and documents were stolen from him, children are waiting for him, he is late for the plane. In general, he makes every effort to make you feel the need or awkwardness and give back the money faster.

Selling on free classifieds sites

You find an ad on the site with a very low price. The price is often explained by the fact that the device was presented as a gift, but the smartphone or tablet is already there. On the phone, they can say that there is already a buyer or come up with another legend that will push you to buy. Questions are answered in general terms or evasively. They are found near the metro, shopping or business centers, almost never mention the addresses of residential buildings. When they meet, they rush. After the sale, the number is cut off or blacklisted.

The photo below is a typical ad for scammers.

1. The average price of such a smartphone at the time of viewing this announcement is 45,000 rubles. Thanks to such a low price, the ad has almost 400 views in a few hours.

2. Already from the photo you can see that this is a fake - there are no such inscriptions on the original smartphone.

3. Seemingly logical motive. Immediately there is a feeling that you won the lottery and you need to take it as soon as possible.

Another ad, almost a carbon copy. And there are hundreds of them.

Sales in shops

Of course, counterfeits are sold in both regular and online stores.

The photo below is one of these online stores.

At the time of this writing, the Galaxy Note 9 has not even been announced, and it was already on sale from scammers.

How to recognize and not buy a fake

Counterfeits are made at different Chinese and Taiwanese factories, so they all differ from each other. There are no guaranteed signs by which you can visually distinguish a fake from the original device: some fakes may differ in the elements of the case, others in the display, and still others in the method of applying inscriptions. The main difference is in the filling, which is difficult for an unprepared person to evaluate. You need to know well how the original device works: to understand the versions and manufacturers of processors, screens, shells, benchmarks, etc.

Therefore, the only way to distinguish a fake from an original is a visual inspection of the device by a competent specialist. For example, it might be an engineer at a corporate service center.

There are comments where users demand to make some kind of service or protection that cannot be guaranteed to be circumvented. Such protection cannot be done: on this moment there are no such technologies. I would also like to remind you that everything is successfully forged, no matter what kind of protection: money, documents, medicines, cars, spare parts, jewelry, smartphones, tablets, headphones, clothes, shoes, watches, software. Even the products are counterfeited.

However, despite all the difficulties with fakes, there are some tips that can help you when buying.

Pay attention to the quality of translation of menu items

On the original devices, the translation is done with high quality, without errors, the inscriptions are only in English and Russian.

On fake devices, Chinese characters may be used in menu items, the translation itself may be conspicuous, the phrases look illogical. For example, on the lock screen there may be an inscription: "Drag to RELEASE."

It is not the first year that the Samsung brand has been a recognized leader in the smartphone segment and a direct competitor to the Apple company with its iPhones. Therefore, many consumers are faced with a serious dilemma: which phone is better - iPhone or Samsung? Models from the South Korean manufacturer have always differed not only in high-quality "filling", but also in a pleasant design, as well as an abundance of some "chips", and the venerable Apple continues to churn out reliable classics.

In general, the question of which phone is better - "iPhone" or "Samsung" is not entirely correct. The first one is characterized by rigor, invariable quality and painfully familiar (and for some already annoying) design. The second one has much more functionality thanks to the flexible platform "Android", has a variety of stylistic solutions and flexible "stuffing", which allows for a competent pricing policy.

If we look at the bare statistics of sales, we will see that in the middle price segment South Korean manufacturer clearly in the lead, not to mention the budget. In the latter area, there are already other dilemmas (for example, which phone is better - "Samsung" or "Sony Xperia"?), And the question of iPhones is not at all worth it. The premium segment was almost completely captured by Apple devices with their impeccable quality and no less impeccable advertising campaigns.

We will try to figure out why consumers value the models of the South Korean brand so much, and determine which Samsung phone is better than another and why. We will start with the most "tasty" and expensive, gradually moving to the middle and budget price segment.

S7 Edge

The flagship S7 model can be called the most the best phone from Samsung. The series was distinguished by attractive streamlining of gadgets and a universal 5.5-inch screen diagonal. The device turned out to be thin and light.

Many users in their reviews perceived this "thinness" ambiguously. On the one hand, yes, the device looks interesting and stylish, but on the other hand, it is not very comfortable to hold it in your hands. The phalanges of the fingers simply have nowhere to put the free space, and holding it like a piece of paper is not to everyone's liking.

As expected from Samsung, the flagship is well protected from water, dust and other dirt according to the IP68 standard. It should also be noted that the water resistance class is maintained without any plugs.

Features of the model

Unlike its sixth-generation predecessor, the S7 provides extended work with external media of any size, and also has support for two SIM cards. The only thing worth clarifying is that, alas, there are no separate slots for installation. Despite the success of the previous generation of S6 devices, the company did not take into account all user reviews. A good Samsung phone should not put its owner in front of a dilemma: buy a gadget with a large amount of storage at once or limit yourself in the choice of telecom operators. Unfortunately, this problem remains in the new device.

The advantages of the model:

  • one of the best matrices in its segment;
  • nice and stylish appearance;
  • extensive functionality and customization options;
  • good protection against moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard;
  • support for all modern networks, including LTE Cat.9.

Disadvantages:

  • combined slots for SD drives and a second SIM card;
  • the price is high for the domestic market.

Estimated cost - about 40,000 rubles.

Note 5 Duos

The Note line has always been distinguished by advanced features, where the main trump cards were a large screen diagonal and support for a stylus. This gadget can be called the best Samsung Galaxy phone in this series. In the fifth model, the electronic pen circuit and interaction with the screen were slightly redesigned, and users, judging by their feedback, liked the new solution very much.

For example, as soon as you take out the stylus from its regular place, the application for notes opens automatically, and there is no need to enter passwords, keys or somehow unlock the screen. Despite its popularity and recognition, the model has its own, for some, by the way, critical flaws. Many users still do not understand the company's decision to deprive their "tablet" of the ability to use external memory cards. Well at least the device received support for alternating work with SIM cards, otherwise it would have suffered the fate of the infamous seventh version of Note.

Pros of the model:

  • improved work with electronic pen;
  • nice looking design;
  • support for all modern communication protocols;
  • two SIM cards with alternating operating mode;
  • fast "cold" start of the GPS-module.
  • there is no support for external SD cards;
  • non-separable body;
  • no support for 3rd generation USB interface.

Estimated price - about 23,000 rubles.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A520F)

It is worth mentioning right away that there are a lot of modifications of the A5 series, and a good half of the brand's admirers ask a quite natural question: which A5 phone from Samsung is better? On sale you can find models of 2016 with the identifier SM-A510F and 2017 - SM-A520F. The difference in price between these two generations fluctuates around 3000 rubles, but the modern model has a more powerful "stuffing" and is better technically savvy.

SM-A520F received support for the 802.11ac protocol, 16-megapixel front camera(instead of 5 megapixels of the previous generation) and protection of the case according to the IP68 standard, so for many the choice is more than obvious. Also, the new device has added internal memory and diversified the assortment with "girly" colors in pink and light blue stylistics.

Distinctive features of the device

The model can be confidently called a very good phone from Samsung. The gadget, in addition to all the advantages described above, received separate slot for a memory card and a speaker on the side. The last solution is rather unusual, but the sound, according to user reviews, is much less often muffled by fingers and palm.

We should also mention such an interesting and useful innovation as Always On Display. It allows you to display information about current events, such as time, date, received messages and missed calls, on the "sleeping" screen.

The advantages of the model:

  • stylish and eye-pleasing design;
  • powerful set of chipsets;
  • front camera 16 megapixels;
  • the presence of the useful Always On Display function;
  • protection from moisture and dirt according to the class IP68.

Disadvantages:

  • non-removable battery;
  • biting price tag in comparison with other models of the A5 series.

Estimated cost - about 22,000 rubles.

Samsung Galaxy C5

About a year ago, the company expanded the lineup of its gadgets and presented on the market devices in thin metal cases. The result is quite nice and good phones "Samsung" of the C5 series, and the constructive component is far from the only advantage of this line.

Naturally, the "stuffing" is far from the level of flagship models, but it is more than enough for everyday needs. Especially users were pleased with the volume random access memory... Almost 4 GB of RAM allow you to work with a lot of tabs in the browser and run "heavy" applications without lags and freezes. Any toys run without problems, but especially demanding ones will have to reset the graphics settings to the average value.

Features of the gadget

Add here a Super AMOLED-class matrix, which perfectly copes with Full HD-imaging, an adequate fingerprint sensor, NFC support - and we will get an almost ideal option for our money. Moreover, user reviews about the device are entirely positive, and the owners did not find any critical shortcomings.

Pros of the model:

  • perfect balance of price and quality;
  • one-piece body made of metal alloys;
  • good cameras;
  • excellent matrix, giving out a juicy and true picture;
  • good viewing angles;
  • attractive appearance and general style.
  • the manufacturer does not guarantee flawless operation on popular domestic LTE protocols;
  • does not support the modern Wi-Fi standard according to the 802.11ac specification;
  • inconvenient combined interface for a second SIM card and external storage.

Estimated price - about 16,000 rubles.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (SM-J710F)

Despite the fact that it is very attractive and in many ways good phone The company attributes the Samsung J7 series to the budget segment, it is able to give odds to many models of the middle price level. The first thing worth mentioning is the excellent performance. autonomous work.

Despite the gluttonous Android platform, the device manages to overtake even simple and outdated Symbian gadgets in this indicator. Of course, he is far from the old Nokia, which has been working for months, but among other gadgets, the J7 series is clearly the leader in the field of battery life.

As an obvious fly in the ointment, judging by user reviews, there is a mediocre matrix that can hardly pull out even HD-resolution, not to mention the declared Full HD. Even if not completely, Super AMOLED technology compensates for this drawback, so there will be no problems with color depth and reading data in the sun.

Distinctive features of a smartphone

Another sign indicating that the device belongs to the budget segment is the absence of a light sensor, which means that the brightness will have to be adjusted manually and often. Despite its low price, the manufacturer was not stingy to equip the gadget with sensible cameras, and the company's marketers position the device as a “selfie phone” in their praises.

The advantages of the model:

  • good matrix for budget smartphone allowing you to work quietly in the sun;
  • a good set of chipsets, eliminating brakes and interface sagging;
  • excellent battery life;
  • high-quality front and rear cameras;
  • separate interface for SIM cards and external media;
  • removable battery.

Disadvantages:

  • there is no light sensor;
  • no event indicator;
  • touch buttons are not backlit.

Estimated cost - about 14,000 rubles.

Samsung Galaxy J1 (SM-J120F / DS)

The J1 is a frankly budgetary, but nevertheless a good phone from Samsung. One of the clear advantages of this device is a matrix that works in tandem with AMOLED technology, so bright sun rays do not interfere with the screen.

The low cost of the smartphone made itself felt: mediocre color rendition with a clearly oversaturated gamut, a simple set of chipsets and the same cameras. It will not work to run serious programs on the device, and those who like to play modern toys will have to reset the graphics settings to a minimum, provided that they will somehow work at all.

Features of the device

This model will be useful for undemanding users, that is, those who have enough music, films and the Internet, without "heavy" entourage. In the merits of the gadget, you can write not only a more than democratic price tag, but also an attractive battery life (in fact, there is nothing to work there and there is no one with anyone).

Pros of the model:

  • excellent readability of data even in direct sunlight;
  • separate interfaces for SIM card and external storage;
  • supports all domestic LTE protocols;
  • removable battery;
  • good battery life;
  • more than a democratic price tag for a model from a venerable brand.
  • mediocre matrices for both cameras;
  • distorted color rendition;
  • there is no light sensor.

Estimated price - less than 7000 rubles.

The debut Samsung Galaxy S was born in mid-2010. Here's a quick snapshot of the mobile phone world, so you don't think the Galaxy S is an upstart lucky enough to hit the stars:

  • Nokia was already producing outdated Symbian smartphones,
  • Apple released long-awaited iPhone 4 with infamous network reception
  • LG sat in the budget class (like Fly now, for example),
  • Xiaomi smartphones are not yet born,
  • Meizu was making a parody of the iPhone running Windows Mobile.

Android was still very few people needed and looked like a short-lived experiment like the half-dead Maemo / Meego. Because the majority of android phones were still those goners - with poor autonomy, buggy firmware, or a lack of memory. For example, HTC in 2010 released Desire with 576 MB (!) Of internal memory, of which there was even less free space. Sony Ericsson sold the flagship X10 with 384 MB of "RAM", ancient Android 1.6, incomplete color display and non-working multitouch! Therefore, Galaxy S, as the only Android flagship brought to mind, provoked a culture shock - nothing of the same quality, with all the bells and whistles working, apart from the iPhone, simply did not exist!

Samsung Galaxy S

Yes, it was frustrating with a weak level of GPS reception (Samsung was just learning to produce its own processors), the flagship hardware could hardly pull the proprietary TouchWiz shell, especially the RAM was soiled. But in terms of display quality, headphone sound, rear camera, and design, the Galaxy S was the best and only competitor to the iPhone. The success was predictable.

Galaxy SII - when power headroom overcame all other innovations

According to many - best Galaxy S ever produced. At one time, it was coolly received by "reviewers", because it seemed like a boring piece of plastic with powerful hardware, but practice has shown that ordinary workers needed just an ordinary android phone with excessive performance, a good camera and without showing off like a 3D camera / 3D display (HTC Evo 3D) or a game console (Sony Ericsson Xperia Play).

In the broadest sense of the word, the smartphone was really created on the principle of "the same cabbage soup, but pour more". At the same time, cabbage soup was already very expensive, and the processor, although it was better than the “low-power stove” NVIDIA Tegra 2 in the first dual-core processor, LG Optimus 2X, was also very hot and gluttonous. And jokes with lamentations about the autonomy of Android-flagships also began with the Galaxy SII - under load the smartphones worked "from socket to socket" for only a few hours.

But the SII was "stuffed" so much that even today, after 6 years, its characteristics do not look like a laughing stock. A very cool, powerful "mainstream" - a solid phone without experimentation. Competitors were either late and were weaker ( HTC Sensation XE with its "under-RAM" 768 MB RAM and 1 GB internal memory, single core Sony Xperia Arc with 512 MB of RAM), or sold overseas (Motorola RAZR XT910) and did not really compete with the "worldwide" Galaxy SII.

Samsung Galaxy S2

In short, the prohibitive characteristics of iron, with a design similar to the first generation, justified themselves - the smartphone became wildly popular with the original buyers, and then very slowly decreased in price in the secondary market. Since then, the main complaint against the Galaxy S in comparison with the iPhone has become the case materials - obscenely expensive and plastic Samsung somehow did not please the eye in comparison with glass-metal iPhones.

In those years of Samsung I have not yet considered enthusiasts to be the second class of buyers and did not put sticks in their wheels with regional blocking, changing bootloaders and KNOX, so the Galaxy SII is still popular with geeks - if you wish, you can even install Android 7.0 on it.

Galaxy SIII - "Soap dish with whistles"

Starting with the third Galaxy S, Samsung began to "comb" its flagships under the new corporate design - instead of the "iPhone, but not the iPhone" appearance, because of which Apple sued Koreans, the flagships received, sorry, slicked cases made of glossy plastic.

With such innovations, many Galaxy fans have experienced acute discomfort, the smartphone has forever received the nickname "remnant". But fans have always chosen Galaxy because of its superiority in performance, and these very characteristics have changed very much since the SII - it's no surprise that sales soared and S3 bought 50% more people than S2.

Five years later Galaxy SIII Doesn't look cool at all - it didn't become a “living classic” like the SII, and very quickly “blown away” in terms of prestige / suitability for modern work, unlike peers like the LG Optimus G / Nexus 4 or iPhone 5. And also The Galaxy SIII has become the most problematic Samsung flagship in terms of reliability - many smartphones have "died" due to premature wear of the internal memory, and the AMOLED display, not only has become more grainy (thanks to Pentile technology), it also tended to quickly " burn out ". That is, traces of applications or menus were immortalized on the screen.

Samsung Galaxy S3

The processor was also not outstanding - just a "sandwich" of Galaxy S2 cores with outdated graphics. For comparison, Qualcomm already then offered a 28 nm process technology (APQ8064 in LG Optimus G and Xiaomi Mi2) and 2 (!) Times cooler video accelerator for games.

But, starting with the third generation Galaxy S3, the Koreans began to introduce a pack of "whistles" into their top model, which no one used (the only happy exception was the auto brightness of the display):

  • Multiple windows... Almost useless at 4.7 inches and not always performing well.
  • S Voice... A stupid voice assistant that was only useful in English-speaking countries.
  • Gestures and voice commands... Well, remember, without searching on the Internet, at what command did the Galaxy S3 take a photo? How do I take a screenshot without touching the screen?
  • S-Beam... File transfer via NFC. Have you used this function many times or seen its application in practice?

They bought the Galaxy S3 not for the design (which was terrible in comparison with the Sony Xperia S / SL or the same iPhone 5) and not for the perfection of the camera, the primacy in which remained with the Nokia Lumia 920. The third generation of Galaxy was bought up partly by inertia, partly because, although the smartphone was not a leader in each of the individual nominations, all the components in it were of high quality and flagship. And they also bought it for the "adult" diagonal of the display and all the same 4 cores, good sound in the headphones and the regular release of new versions of Android, unlike LG Optimux 4S, Htc one X or Sony Xperia S, for example.

Galaxy S4 - an unattainable "spaceship"

The fourth generation of the "galaxy" in its concept was closer to the Galaxy SII than to its predecessor. Because Samsung rallied and built the coolest smartphone of 2013. Octa-core processor! Full HD AMOLED display with multiple color modes (even photographers have been pleased)! 0.2-inch bigger screen with a more compact body!

Therefore, the fact that the S4 sold in the same circulation as the S2, that is, in the amount of 40 million units against 60 million in comparison with the Galaxy S3, looks rather strange.

The problem, probably, was that over the three years that have passed since the announcement of the first Galaxy S, competitors have also given birth to balanced flagships, and Samsung users are already tired of the plastic case (a little more elegant, but too similar to the S3), the plump shell and far-fetched software innovations. ... For example, LG G2 "gave a light" to Samsung in terms of display brightness, performance, and video quality, and the platform-based Nexus 5 was also cheaper. HTC One M7, with its stupid camera and weak battery, still looked much more expensive. Yes, and "cut" support for LTE (4G) in many countries could also confuse someone. Software innovations like a video pause if you take your eyes off the screen, a slightly wiser S-Voice assistant and stupid photos with sound / photos on two cameras at the same time, as you might guess, did not take off.

Samsung Galaxy S4

And the blanket was pulled over by the Galaxy Note 3, which from an experimental "shovel" with a stylus for artists and businessmen turned into a popular "big Samsung" when phablets were at the peak of popularity.

In any case, the Galaxy S4 has become one of the most technically advanced, popularly loved and "ageless" flagships, to which even Samsung engineers "breathed unevenly" - a situation when the non-Nexus is updated to new version Android, a couple of years after the release, are vanishingly rare. This is a smartphone that you can use to this day and not feel deprived of anything (except, perhaps, LTE communications).

The Galaxy S5 is neither good nor bad. No

Either Samsung was disgusted with releasing the Galaxy S and the Koreans were preparing to replace it with other models, or it became difficult to snatch a pack of performance and luxury records from the engineering department's bins, but in the fifth generation the smartphone turned out to be ... insipid.

Firstly, Samsung "faked" with the holy of holies - a display and a processor. Yes, Full HD AMOLED, as was the case with the Galaxy S4, only slightly brighter than its predecessor. Is that all? And where is the selected Samsung processor with which Galaxy put competitors on the blades in 2011 and 2013? Why is the buyer of "the most sophisticated alternative to the iPhone" offered the consumer-grade Snapdragon 801, which is even in the unnamed Chinese (OnePlus One)? And why is the Galaxy Note 4, which has always been on the sidelines, not deprived of innovations? And only the lazy didn’t joke about the nauseous varieties of “young plastic skin” in the style of the Zhiguli ceiling and the peeling frame “like metal”. The Galaxy S5 looked especially sad compared to the iPhone 6 of the same year.

But the smartphone became popular not because of the characteristics "on paper", but, as in the case of first Galaxy S, the quality of performance of what was put into it.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Simply because the "most likely" adversary in terms of bells and whistles, the LG G3, was slow, overheated and had little battery life (the processor had a hard time pulling the Quad HD display), and the camera is worse. HTC One M8 firmly established itself in the class “but we have a cool case and stereo speakers!”, But it didn’t shine anymore, Windows phones were almost dead, Motorola Nexus 6 failed in sales, because Google did not understand (and does not understand to this day, judging by situation with the Pixel) that no one needs expensive Googlephones. And in the fight against the Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung had an argument “I'm also Samsung” and a water resistance of the same class. Oh, yes, the fingerprint scanner became another innovation of the model - disgusting in terms of the quality of work, but do you understand how indifferent such nuances were to ordinary workers?

In short, Samsung has got a quality, super-reliable, but very boring flagship. And it was impossible to continue this way, because sales of the smartphone "did not go", and the company's management realized that with such an approach, not today or tomorrow, the great Galaxy S will even be trampled by the powerful "Chinese."

Galaxy S6 / S6 edge - Samsung's revolutionary flagship with run-of-the-mill sales and childhood illnesses

No one top smartphone 2015 wasn't perfect, but the Galaxy S6 came closest to that bar. All-new, luxurious glass and metal design (Samsung's first non-ugly flagship since the Galaxy S2!), A bright and perfectly calibrated 5.1-inch Quad HD display, the most powerful and hassle-free processor in Android phones in 2015 (thanks to the grand fiasco Qualcomm Snapdragon 810), super-fast in random operations inner memory, very high quality rear camera, slim body... And the Galaxy S6 edge also has a futuristic design, albeit at the expense of usability.

In other words, in 2015, the most beautiful, fastest and most technically advanced Samsung flagship was born in two versions - flat and curved. Even two years later, only two drawbacks can be noted in it: rather poor (by flagship standards) autonomy and the absence of a memory card slot.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge

True, defective copies of the S6 were more common than those of the previous generation model. Pink displays, failure of the focusing of the rear camera, purple spots in the pictures on the front camera - so many problems users Samsung flagships not seen since SIII.

Samsung Galaxy S6

The sixth generation Galaxy can be called without any exaggeration the best smartphones 2015, so it's a shame that they weren't able to replicate the success of the S5. They failed so much that the head of Samsung's mobile division was asked. The problem was that Samsung manual piled up on the S6 and S6 edge counters in equal numbers, and queues lined up mainly behind the curved version. And the price of a smartphone was astronomically high.
