One-handed operation is excellent. You can choose a convenient diagonal of the control area or turn on the Touch Assistant - an additional floating multifunctional key.

Cameras

The main camera uses a 16-megapixel module from an unnamed manufacturer. Fans of artistic mobile photography should take a closer look at the flagship model. The rear camera will not leave anyone indifferent. Examples of photographs under both artificial lighting and bright sun can be seen below.

The native shooting application pleases with a large number of settings. Supported filters, blur, fish-eye effect, face detection, age and gender. And even - elimination of screen flickering, and you can choose the refresh rate.

The flash is sufficient not only for shooting, but also for use as a flashlight. The maximum video quality is 1080p (Full HD, 30 frames per second). The front camera allows you to take great selfies.

Autonomy

Xiaomi has promised phenomenal battery life. In fact, Mi Max does not set records, but its results cannot be called bad either.

When playing Full HD video with average screen brightness, the battery life is 10 hours. At maximum brightness - 8 hours. Half an hour of playing World Of Tanks over Wi-Fi reduces battery power by 7%. With a mixed mode of use (with LTE / GPS / Wi-Fi enabled and medium brightness), the smartphone is enough for 4 hours of surfing the Internet and correspondence in instant messengers, 1 hour of playing, 3 hours of listening to music on headphones. If necessary, the gluttony of the gadget can be reduced directly in the system.

A full charge takes over 4 hours. However, the process can be accelerated. Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology allows you to charge the battery up to 80% in 30 minutes due to the increased voltage and amperage. True, you have to use a proprietary or Qualcomm-certified charger.

Wireless interfaces and communication

Voice communication works great. The interlocutor can be heard clearly, he also does not complain. Interruptions in work cellular communication not noticed during testing, the protocol of operation corresponds to the coverage areas. In the presence of LTE coverage, the smartphone consistently shows a good Internet speed, if necessary, instantly switching to 2G to make calls. Unfortunately, VoLTE, a promising standard for voice transmission in fourth-generation networks, has not yet been implemented in Russia, so it was not possible to test it.

Communication with satellites is stable. GPS turns on in 20 seconds if there is no information about the location of satellites and 3-5 seconds if there is one.

Via infrared port and applications MiHome or ZaZaRemote ("Telecontrol Wizard"), you can control home appliances: both Xiaomi gadgets and familiar TVs or air conditioners.

Outcomes

Despite the huge diagonal, Xiaomi Mi Max turned out to be an extremely convenient smartphone with a good filling and optimized software... In the near future, we should expect firmware updates that will increase battery life. But now, taking into account the current exchange rate, this is a replacement for the Xperia Z Ultra.

The basic version reviewed in the review costs about $ 250 today. The flagship Mi Max (4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory) will cost the Russian buyer about $ 305. The 3 / 64GB intermediate option costs $ 251.

The performance of the smartphone will last for another couple of years. In general, you need a phablet - choose Xiaomi.

When the Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone first appeared on the Russian market, many were somewhat confused about its giant size with a 6.55-inch display. But, despite the fact that it looks not very convenient, in practice you quickly get used to it, and one-handed operation no longer seems unrealistic.

Material, type and assembly

In the review of Xiaomi Mi Max 32Gb, one cannot do without considering the assembly details, since the manufacturer pays utmost attention not only to the internal filling. In addition, the review in Russian on this model sometimes has to be searched just as carefully.

Taking the smartphone in hand, on its front side you can see a touch panel located at the bottom of the display, a grid above the earpiece and a light indicator. In the same place, but on top, built-in front-camera... There are noticeable changes on the back cover, in comparison with previous versions on 16Gb, in the form of a slightly curved cover at the edges. This move gave the smartphone a more attractive look. In addition, what is especially important, it is comfortable to hold in your hand, and the device itself seems thinner. The case material here is high-quality aluminum, but the upper and lower inserts are plastic. On the back is the main camera and fingerprint scanner. Speaking of the scanner, it boasts fast performance and almost instant smartphone unlocking. What is no less pleasing is the ability of the scanner to work with third-party programs.

At the end on the right side there is a volume control and a button to turn off the phone. On the left side there are slots for a memory card up to 200 GB and SIM cards... At the bottom of the panel there is a connector for a microUSB cable, a main microphone and an external speaker, at the top there is an infrared port, a minijack and a connector for an additional microphone. Despite the fact that the speakers are not equipped with stereo sound, the volume reserve of the Xiaomi Mi Max or the same Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is large, and the sound is of excellent quality.

A little about the size and display

Speaking of the size of the device, they are really impressive, but this is not the largest model of the existing analogues. Below are examples of dimensions from different manufacturers:

Model Weight Height By width Thickness
Xiaomi Mi Max 203 g 173.1 mm 88.3 mm 7.5 mm
Meizu m3 Max 189 g 163.4 mm 81.6 mm 7.9 mm
Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra 233 g 186.4 mm 93.9 mm 6,8 mm
Sony XA Xperia Ultra 202 g 164.0 mm 79.0 mm 8.4 mm

Considering the diagonal size of the Mi Max display, there is really no problem as to whether to hold the smartphone with one hand or two hands and how to operate it. The operation of the device is comfortable due to its small thickness and the previously mentioned smoothed corners.

As for the screen as a whole, in addition to a 6.44-inch screen with an expansion of 1920 × 1080 pixels and an IPS matrix, there are 342 pixels per inch. There is an automatic control of brightness levels, which is also very convenient, there is no need to manually constantly change and adjust them. Multi-touch processes simultaneously up to ten touches.

Against the background of new models coming out, the huge diagonal of the Mi maximum display is no longer perceived too new. In terms of quality, everything is fine, although not ideal, it does not reach the gold class - when viewing images or video from angles, the pictures fade slightly.

Operating system and performance nuances

When compiling a review of Xiaomi Mi Max 32Gb, one involuntarily has to look back at other smartphones from the same manufacturer. They all use the original operating system MIUI in different versions... In this case, it is 7.0 with Android 6.0 support. Since such firmware is practically in no way inferior to Android, changing it or not is a matter for everyone individually and, rather, even for habits.

MIUI provides the user with the Xiaomi Mi Max on 32Gb, and on 64gb or the more powerful Xiaomi Mi Max 128Gb, a wide range of possibilities in terms of personal settings. In fact, you can change anything in the phone, including the font size and icons. In addition, the firmware today supports the Russian language.

In terms of performance, Mi Maximum, however, is not far behind Xiaomi Mi Max 128Gb, having 6 cores and Qualcomm Snapdragon 650, Adreno 510 chips. RAM in 3 GB is also pleasing, especially considering that today even notebooks with such performance continue to be actively used. In other words, this is more than enough to work effectively with FHD resolution.

The smartphone itself works quickly, including the launch mode for various applications and games. As for heating during operation, it affects the upper part of the device and does not exceed the norm, so the user does not have any complaints.

Battery and camera performance

IN this review it is worth highlighting the autonomous operation of the battery. The Mi Max battery has a capacity of 4850 mAh, non-removable Li-Ion. According to the test results, he showed the following results:

  • Continuous reading from the screen at a brightness level of 30% and with airplane mode - 29 hours without a charge;
  • Continuous viewing of videos in HD with maximum brightness and airplane mode - 11 hours autonomous work.

Comparing the battery capacity of other models, and considering the performance, it is safe to say that this model uses a royal battery. Plus, the device itself is thin and light, and with active use without saving resources, it will easily work for five or more hours in a row. In other words, in general, a smartphone can easily do without recharging for up to two days. In addition, Mi Max supports fast charging technology, charging the battery in 115 minutes by 85% (if available the desired block power supply).

The camera in the Xiaomi Mi Max series is very functional, it allows you to change the exposure by lightly scrolling the focusing circle. Looking into the settings, the user opens up a lot of different modes and filters for shooting. In daytime and macro photography, the camera takes excellent photos, but the narrower the lighting, the lower the quality of the images obtained. It is better to refrain from taking pictures at night. In terms of the video situation, the viewing angles are standard, recording up to 4k, slo-mo and acceleration.

Wireless interface

There is almost a complete set of wireless interfaces, except for NFC. Support available and stable Wi-Fi operation b / g / n / ac with dual-band, Bluetooth version 4.2 LE, GPS navigators with a cold start, in about two seconds, receiving mobile data in GSM 900, 1800, 1900, 3G, LTE networks, working with USB On-The-Go.

Wi-Fi services support all current technologies, so there are no problems with connection. The situation is the same with Bluetooth. The presence of an infrared port here allows you to work correctly with third-party equipment, in particular TVs, if you install a special application.

Today we will get acquainted with the largest smartphone from Xiaomi - Mi Max. The device is equipped with a truly huge 6.44-inch screen, which will appeal to fans of phablets. In terms of the filling, everything is not bad, but we will tell you what is actually happening in the review.

The smartphone is provided by the store Xiaomi.ua

Equipment

Inside the white box, slightly larger than the phone, is the charger (5V / 2A), USB cable and paper documentation.

Appearance

Mi Max design is not unique - typical Xiaomi smartphone... However, it is not an enlarged copy of another device. The front side, for some reason, does not contain the MI logo, as was the case on all other smartphones of the mi line. Next to the earpiece is the missed event LED. As a tribute to fashion, the protective glass is rounded around the perimeter.

The cover of the smartphone is not completely metal - there are plastic inserts at the top and bottom, because of this, when checking for twisting, the device creaks a little. There are no squeaks in everyday use. On the one hand, the use of plastic was dictated by economy, because the phone is far from the top-end price range, but, you must agree, a completely metal cover would have looked more attractive.

Positioning the fingerprint reader on the back cover is a common solution. Despite its large size, the index finger rests on it. There is not the slightest comment about the scanner's operation. The unlocking process is lightning fast and always the first time.

The SIM tray can accept either two SIM cards, a microSIM and a nanoSIM, or a microSIM and a microSD card.

There are currently three color versions available - gray, silver and gold. In all cases, the bezel is white. We have a silver model on the test.

Convenience of work

It's hard to talk about the convenience of working with such a large smartphone. Judge for yourselves, the dimensions are 173.1 × 88.3 × 7.5 mm and the weight is 203 grams. Even for me, the owner of a large palm, it is inconvenient to use a smartphone with one hand. This is due to the large width, which prevents the finger from reaching the opposite edge of the screen.

At the same time, no one forbids using two hands, thus we get a mini-tablet.

Display

A huge 6.44 inch IPS screen is covered with a protective glass with a good oleophobic coating. Even if you use the device with care, small scratches will inevitably appear on the screen. There is no air gap. The bezel around the screen is not wide. In sunny weather, the information on the screen is easy to see.

The brightness ranges from 421 to 1 cd / m². The low value of the minimum brightness will appeal to lovers of reading before bedtime. Contrast 1 to 1525. The color gamut is wider than the sRGB triangle, and the temperature is only slightly higher than the reference 6500K. By the way, we obtained this data at standard settings screen.

If we talk in simple words then the screen is great. The colors are rich, the contrast is high, and the ability to adjust the temperature allows you to fine-tune the screen to suit your own preferences.

Hardware platform

The Xiaomi Mi Max comes in a variety of options. Smartphones with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor can be equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of user memory, or with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of user memory. Versions with Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 only in versions with 3/64 and 4/128 GB. It should be remembered that there is a slot for microSD memory cards.

A version with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor in a 3/32 GB modification came to our review.

We are already familiar with this processor. The performance of the smartphone is sufficient for any task. The synthetic tests show that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 outperforms devices based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808/801, which cannot be called weak.

In daily use, Mi Max runs smoothly and without any glitches or freezes. The power is enough to play at maximum settings even for the most modern games such as World of Tanks Blitz and Need for Speed No Limits.

There is support Wi-Fi standard ac and CDMA networks. The latter work only under the rev protocol. A. Conveniently, both SIM slots understand cards with 3G Internet. There are no complaints about GPS.

During normal use, the Xiaomi Mi Max barely gets warm. Even demanding games do not heat up the phone critically. During use, the greatest heating was during the AnTuTu Tester autonomy test.

The multimedia speaker is loud, of good quality, but only one. The earpiece speaker seemed quiet, on my mi4c it is a little louder. Therefore, speaking on the phone in a noisy place, you had to listen. No complaints about the microphone. The sound quality in the headphones is good, but there is no headroom. Paired with my Xiaomi Mi Quantie Hybrid PRO headphones in the metro, I had to turn the volume up to maximum.

We have already talked about the MIUI 8 shell in one of the previous materials. One has only to complain that the interface does not flip over to horizontal mode. To fix this, you can install a third-party launcher, but this is not the best way out. Otherwise, everything is convenient and familiar if you have used MIUI at least once.

Autonomy

The battery capacity is 4850 mAh. Paired with a platform that is not the most energy-consuming, the result should be worthy.

In practice, it is difficult to land a smartphone even after two days of use. I have used extensively social media, watched videos, read, photographed, listened to music, and all the same, the smartphone confidently lives for two days, with an active screen indicator of 6 hours. The synthetic test PCMark gave 11 hours of active screen at a brightness of 200 cd / m².

For charging standard charger it will take a little over three hours. Support for Qualcomm Quick Charge technology has not been officially announced, but the smartphone does.

Camera

The main camera has a 16 megapixel sensor with an F / 2.0 aperture and a flash consisting of two LEDs of different temperatures. The front camera is 5 megapixels, too, with an aperture of F / 2.0. The application interface is the same as that of other Xiaomi smartphones.

The quality of the pictures taken with the main camera can be estimated as above average. It copes worst of all in low light conditions and at night. During the day, too, not everything is perfect, namely, the aggressive work of the noise control is very noticeable. At the same time, pictures in HDR mode are vivid.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 / 32GB (Silver)
Notify when on sale

The editors would like to thank the Xiaomi.ua store for providing a smartphone for testing.

At the very end of the second July decade, the general public was presented with another phablet from Xiaomi called Mi Max 3. Such an update has been expected for a long time.

The previous model has been on the market for quite some time. During the sales period, it has become obsolete both technically and morally. So the Mi Max 3 arrived exactly when it should. Let's take a closer look at the new phablet from Xiaomi within the framework of this material.

Unboxing Xiaomi Mi Max 3

Specifications

Video review of Xiaomi Mi Max 3:

Appearance and body

Fans of the Chinese manufacturer will immediately recognize the Xiaomi Mi 6X smartphone in the appearance of the new phablet. If from the front side the smartphone Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is very similar to the representatives of the Redmi line, then it is rear panel makes it akin to 6X. In general, the frames seem to be narrower than on the younger models due to the fact that the screen diagonal has increased. Dimensions of the Mi Max 3 phablet: 176x87x7.99.

Of course it's pretty big smartphone... And using it with one hand is rather difficult. But this phablet fits into your pocket without much difficulty. And this is its undoubted advantage. Surely due to this feature, some potential customers will want to switch from the Redmi line to the Mi Max line.

The body of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 phablet is made of aluminum. It is sandblasted. So the tactile sensations from interacting with the phone are very pleasant.

On the top edge of the phablet, you can see a standard audio connector, a microphone designed to suppress extraneous noise and an infrared port. Everything here is pretty standard for this manufacturer! There is a card slot on the left edge.

On the left, you can see a swing designed to adjust the volume level and a power button for the device.

On the lower edge, a potential buyer will see perforation for two speakers. And in the case of Xiaomi Mi Max 3, this is not a props at all! This phablet really has two stereo speakers. Thanks to this feature, watching a movie on a device only brings a positive experience. There is absolutely no need to connect headphones or an additional speaker to the phablet. In addition, the phablet itself can be used as a miniature speaker, listening to music with it.

The sound quality will satisfy even the most demanding customers! Between the speakers is the now familiar USB type-c port. For some potential buyers, this is a pretty significant plus.

The rear model, on the other hand, resembles a kind of symbiosis of the panels of Mi 6X and iPhone X. From the first device, the phablet got a body with hidden antennas and the location of a fingerprint scanner. But from the second gadget, the phablet inherited the design dual cameras... In general, the smartphone looks very fresh and decent. This fact will undoubtedly attract a large number of buyers to the new device. But technical characteristics play a more significant role.

Screen

The phablet display has a 6.9-inch diagonal. In fact, the Mi Max 3 blurs the line between smartphones and tablets. Because tablets just start at 7 inches diagonal.

It is only natural that the display has an aspect ratio of two to one. Its resolution is equal to the Full HD Plus value. At the same time, the screen area occupies as much as 85% of the area of the entire front panel. That's a lot! In addition, the performance of the display itself has improved over its predecessor. Brightness, contrast, and color gamut have become better. The viewing angles for the IPS matrix are excellent. The gadget is convenient to use both in direct sunlight and in complete darkness. Brightness controls are enough for absolutely any conditions.

Iron

There were a lot of rumors about what kind of processor the future Max series smartphone will be equipped with. The most optimistic forecasts could be expected on the new snapdragon 710 device. After a while there was a rumor that the new product would be equipped with a snapdragon 660 processor. In practice, it turned out that buyers can rely only on the snapdragon 636. This is a pretty good processor, but I would still like to have a greater power reserve.

Do not think that he is weak! This processor handles highly demanding games at medium to high graphics settings. But will the power reserve be enough for about two years? Hardly anyone will be able to answer this question with complete certainty. So the processor can be considered sufficient, but not the best option. The Adreno 509 video core contributes to the overall performance.

As for the memory, now you can find on sale Mi Max 3 with 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of RAM, respectively. With an optional card, the built-in memory can be significantly expanded.

Cameras

But the cameras can be called one of the strongest sides of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 phablet. The fact is that the Sony imx363 12 megapixel is used as the main module. This is an excellent module that can be found on much more expensive devices than the Max 3. This module is paired with a 5 megapixel module from Samsung.

The main plus for the average user is that this smartphone has ultra-fast focusing. This means that you can take photos even in dynamics and they will not be blurry. Supports 4K video recording camera. At the same time, the smartphone has electronic video stabilization. So from this point of view, everything is also at a decent level!

The front camera of the phablet has only 8 megapixels. This solution cannot be called the best. Rather, they decided to save a little on the front camera. But overall, she takes very decent pictures. In addition, this camera is used to recognize a person's face, which allows you to unlock the phone by face.

Battery

The phablets of the Mi Max series have always been distinguished by their autonomy. And the new Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is no exception here. On the contrary, the capacity of its battery has increased to a value of 5500 mAh. In addition, this battery supports third-generation Quick Charge charging. Thanks to her, the phablet is charged to 100% in less than 2 hours. And that's even more impressive when you think about battery capacity. By the way, Max 3 can be used like Power bank charging other devices from it. Quite a useful feature! Moreover, if you usually use not one, but several gadgets at once.

Many users expected to receive an NFC module on the Mi Max 3. Unfortunately, in practice, the manufacturer never installed this module in a new phablet. The reason for this is rather not the desire to reduce the cost of the device, but marketing. Since when NFC module in the Max line, the meaning disappears in some models of the older series. Here is such a feature. But Mi Max 3 has a Bluetooth 5.1 module. But this can hardly compensate for the inability to pay in the store using NFC.

Output

In general, the third generation Xiaomi Mi Max turned out to be very balanced. Yes, it is not suitable for everyone. For example, girls would rather prefer a gadget with a small body size and a miniature display. But there is a huge number of those people who, on the contrary, would like to get a big screen. So Max 3 will surely find its customers.

The only real downside is the lack of an NFC module. As for the processor, the installation of the 636 dragon is still a rather controversial issue. Although the same 625 is used on different devices for over two years. Otherwise, the phablet has almost only advantages!

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a chic phablet with powerful characteristics

All fans of large diagonal phablets - rejoice! Finally, we got to the review of Xiaomi Mi Max 2, which gained popularity among users and is still in demand, despite the fact that it first appeared on the market in the summer of 2017.

Appearance, design, equipment

The developers have tried their best - the new model seems visually more compact, although it has a larger screen. The smooth silhouette of the case, rounded edges - all this only plays into the hands of the design of the gadget. Thickness, by the way - 7.6 mm. Not a lot, not a little, but just right for the device to receive both a good processor and a durable battery.

The assembly of the device does not cause any complaints - all the parts fit tightly, the card tray does not rattle, nothing creaks when twisted. The body of the smartphone is monolithic, the back panel is made of durable aluminum with plastic antenna inserts to improve the signal. The front panel is protected by 2.5D glass with an oleophobic coating.

The metal alloy of aluminum, by the way, is quite durable, scratches do not remain on it, but we still do not recommend specially scratching your name on the back panel with a knife.

With color variations, the developers were greedy, the phone has only two color options: gold and black. The gold device has a white front panel.

The location of the keys and connectors is standard for Xiaomi - everything is quite convenient. Under the display - touch keys "Home", "Back" and "Menu". Above the screen are sensors, a speaker for conversations, a front camera. On the right side there is a double volume button and a power key. If you find fault with it, I would like to have both keys on the right edge a little lower in order to get to them more comfortably.

The fingerprint scanner is located on the back of the smartphone. Considering the diagonal, the fingerprint scanner would also be slightly lower, although if you have long fingers, this is not a problem.

At the bottom there is a microphone and speaker, as well as a modern Type-C charging connector. A headset jack, an infrared port and another microphone are located at the top.

If we talk about our own feelings of use, then first of all, of course, it is worth considering that this is a phablet phone, it cannot be super-light or have small dimensions. Almost always, we had to use both hands to work with the gadget, even if it was about such a simple action as dialing a number or answering a call. And the point here is not only in rather big dimensions, but in the design features of the case: due to the rounded edges, which look beautiful, the case turns out to be slippery, and the grip is not very strong. Over time, of course, you can get a handle on holding the phone tighter.

Some people complain that the smartphone came out a little faceless, but we disagree. Rather, the Mi Max 2 is minimalistic and elegant.

As you can imagine, the phablet will not fit into the pocket of your favorite jeans or a miniature handbag.

Display

Display Mi Max 2 has a large diagonal of 6.44 inches on an IPS matrix. The resolution is FullHD (1920x1080) and the pixel density is 342 ppi.

There is no air gap between the glass and the display, so the picture display quality is very decent, the gadget has maximum viewing angles. The brightness reserve is also excellent - it is convenient to work with the phone on a sunny day, and at the minimum brightness the smartphone does not blind your eyes in the dark.

The black frame around the perimeter of the display, which was in the younger model and, I must say, annoyed buyers, has become much thinner. Now the display itself occupies about 75% of the entire front panel area of the smartphone.

Among the shortcomings, it can be noted that the light sensor does not always work correctly, which is why the automatic brightness control suffers, the screen does not have time to adequately respond to the change in lighting around. At some viewing angles, the picture either fades or fades, although it remains readable and normally distinguishable.

Safety glass on the phone - Gorilla Glass of the fourth generation, it makes the front panel resistant to minor mechanical damage and scratches.

The impressive diagonal of the display allows you to watch movies or TV shows from your smartphone with particular pleasure, and gamers will definitely like the phablet. Toys look bright and cool on such a screen.

You quickly get used to the screen, especially if you, in principle, are not a fan of miniature devices.

Performance

The phone is powered by an 8-core processor with a Snapdragon 625 chipset and a clock speed of 2 GHz. Responsible for the graphics video accelerator Adreno 506. The model is produced with two configurations of relatively constant memory - 64GB and 128GB. The RAM in both cases is 4 GB.

There is a slot for a memory card, but it is combined with a SIM slot, therefore either one SIM card + memory card, or 2 SIM cards.

In everyday scenarios, the smartphone is very nimble, and performance in toys is also pleasing. All modern games from the virtual store are launched, even the most demanding ones. They do not slow down in the process and do not lag at the moments where maximum performance is needed.

The device works with the proprietary MIUI 8.5.4.0 shell, which is installed on top of Android 7.1.1. I also liked the interface at work. We used the device for a little more than a week and during this time it was not noticed that applications crashed or worked incorrectly. Thanks to the feature of the firmware, up to 5 shortcuts can be placed in a row on the desktop, thus, more information is placed on the large screen.

Audio

Audiences will definitely appreciate this phablet because the sound quality is very decent. Of course, in cheap headphones, the sound will be similar, but with good headphones you will be able to enjoy the music at all 100. In addition, the gadget has good speakers (and there are two of them here), which give out surround sound, although it cannot be called a full-fledged stereo sound. The speakers are loud, the sound does not have a metallic tinge, the bass is rich.

Autonomy

Compared to the younger version of the device, Mi Max2 has support for fast charging, as well as the function of recharging other gadgets via a special cable. By the phone powerful battery at 5300 mAh.

The results of battery life are not flagship, but quite adequate for life, especially with such a screen. You can expect about 3 days of use with more than 9 hours of screen use for the entire time with the mobile internet... At the same time, you can safely watch videos, listen to music, use mobile transmission data and chat in instant messengers ... and yes, games can be played too. The brightness of the display can be reduced by half or up to 70%, at maximum speed the phone is discharged faster. Fast charging charges a huge battery in 2.5 hours to 100%, and in the first 20 minutes you get a fifth of the charge.

During the night, in standby mode, the smartphone is discharged by 3%

Cameras

The phablet belongs to the middle price segment, and it should be noted that the company was not too worried about equipping the device with the best optics. This does not mean that the pictures will be bad, but they will be at the same average level as the cost of the device.

The Mi Max2 does a good job of shooting on a clear day, in good lighting, and even indoors. Also, the phablet is great at macro photography.

But as soon as the lighting becomes less, the frames lose detail, and adjusting the exposure manually does not greatly save the situation.

The smartphone can record video in 4k, but the picture turns out to be too contrasting and oversaturated, plus the lack of adequate image stabilization affects the recording.

The selfie camera has a 5 megapixel module. Photos are of normal quality, enough for social networks, but for printing on a photographic portrait, sorry, no way. The beauty effect helps to hide minor skin imperfections and even out the complexion. At the same time, the frame is slightly blurred, but if you are not zealous with the beauty factor, the picture can be successfully retouched right in the phone.

Outcomes

Let's start with the shortcomings that more or less can be considered worthy of our attention. Actually, he is the only one - the distortion of the picture at different angles of inclination. In all other respects, the phablet turned out to be really good: a large screen diagonal, excellent battery life, compact dimensions, powerful performance, and fast charging.

Mi Max 2 has taken a big step forward compared to the younger model. The phablet has practically no downsides. The characteristics are balanced and powerful. The most interesting thing is that the smartphone has very few competitors on the market, given the price / quality / size ratio. Therefore, if you like large screens, be sure to pay attention to this model.
