It would seem that even with such a simple thing as setting your own ringtones for calls and notifications, Android does not always cope well. I encountered several problems, the solution to which I will describe. I think that these problems may not be encountered on many devices, but I did.

Where to put the melody so that it can be selected in the settings

Melodies are located in three folders:
  • ringtones - ringtones for calls,
  • notifications - notification melodies (for example, SMS has arrived),
  • alarms - also for different notifications, I don't know more precisely
Accordingly, if you throw a melody to the memory card, then these folders need to be created and the file must be copied into them. If you throw a melody to the system folder, then you will need to get root access on the device, use "ES Explorer" and with as root, copy the files to / system / media / audio / and then wherever you want.

After connecting the smartphone to the computer via usb, the ringtone is reset

This happens if the Mass Storage mode is enabled on the smartphone, that is, the internal memory and flash memory of the device are seen on the computer as an ordinary USB flash drive. At this time, the smartphone and its applications do not have access to internal memory, which is why the melodies are reset to the standard ones. In the same way, after restarting the smartphone, the flash card does not have time to connect and the melody is reset. The solution is simple - you need to throw a ringtone to the system folder/ system / media / audio / ringtones

When playing some tunes, the smartphone reboots

This happens with some mp3 files. If you convert the file to ogg format (all standard melodies are in this format), then the problem disappears.

If ringtones fly off to standard.

If the ringtones you installed after reboot change to standard.

You can often hear that someone has established on certain contacts, or

on thealarm clock, or SMS - a certain ringtone, but after turning off

(reboot)the smartphone, they "lost" and installed again the standard

melodies andringtones.Sometimes even those installed on contacts "fly off", or

on wallpaperphotos.

How to deal with this?

The installation of these very ringtones, or melodies and photos at the same time, helps by 99%,

but,so that they are sure to be in the memory of the DEVICE, and not only in

SD card memory.

To do this, you need:

1. Install the File Manager application on your smartphone.

2. Copy all the ringtones, melodies, photos you need from SD card memory to memory

smartphone. You can do all this by connecting your smartphone to your computer.

3. When installing (assigning) the necessary music or photo, indicate the path to the files you need in

folders located in internal memory smartphone.

Create folders:

alarms (alarm clock)

notifications (messages)

ringtones (music)

in the media and audio folders

There is one more reason why ringtones "fly off"

Open = SETTINGS =

Open = MEMORY =

Check that DEFAULT is marked with = INTERNAL MEMORY =

And you will be HAPPINESS!

A proven method.
