Good day.

Then the link "Setting up a new connection or network".

Options for ways to connect to the Internet appear. If you have an ADSL connection, then select the first item: "Internet Connection". In the case of 3G, “Setting telephone connection". Most often the first option, we will consider it further.

Another window appears, click on "High Speed (with PPPoE)". When setting up 3G, there will be a choice of a modem.

Enter your username and password from the Internet. For 3G users there will be an additional. the "Dialed number" field. After entering the data, click "Connect".

If all the drivers are installed, the devices are working and the login is correct, then "Internet connection is ready to use" will appear.

After that, you can create a shortcut on your desktop to connect to the Internet. In Control Panel, find "Network and Sharing Center" and then "Change adapter settings". Right-click on the newly created connection, select "Create shortcut".

For router owners

Those who have the Internet through a router do not need to configure anything. Most often, immediately after reinstalling the OS, the Internet connects itself, because all settings are stored in the router itself. If there is no network, your task is to find drivers for the set. maps or Wi-Fi.

If you have a USB modem

  • The USB modem connects to the computer in hot mode. This means that you turn on the computer, wait for the OS to boot completely, and only then insert the USB modem.
  • Wait a little. A notification should appear operating system about new equipment.
  • After that, a window will pop up with the ability to install a program for working with a USB modem.

It happened a little less than two ...

Installing or reinstalling an operating system is a very important and sometimes necessary procedure. As a rule, after it, there are no programs left on the computer from the familiar set that was before. This is not only very inconvenient, but also dangerous for the device itself. After all, you need to install not only entertainment programs, but also applications that are responsible for the safety and proper functioning of your computer under Windows.

Of course, for each user, the set of programs that he needs will be individual. However, there are always some general programs, which must be installed on Windows 7 immediately after its installation and configuration. First, you need to install all the necessary drivers and codecs that are required for the PC to work so that nothing interferes with the process.

What applications are required unambiguously

The list of what is necessary for the stable operation of a PC after installing a new operating system practically does not undergo changes. Only the names and versions of the programs change, but the essence is still the same.

Antivirus

Almost the most required programs without which the normal operation of a computer on the Internet is unthinkable. It is also important that you need to install an antivirus first of all. Otherwise, there is a risk when installing all the rest of the software to pick up a bunch of nasty viruses.

Choosing an antivirus should be thoughtful, based on various sources of information. Otherwise, there is a risk of downloading something that does not work as it should. That is, it does not provide normal computer protection.

The next step is to find and download an archiver for yourself. Without it, there is a good chance of not installing anything on your computer, since very often all programs from the Internet are downloaded in * .rar or * .zip formats.

Two of the most popular archivers - 7Zip or WinRar - can help with them. Each of them is convenient and practical in its own way, so here the choice is up to the user.

Browser

In any operating system, and even more so in Windows 7, after installation there is always at least one, even the most inferior, browser. Installed by default Internet Explorer, with which it becomes possible to download already normal browsers. Of course, you can use it too - but it, as a rule, slows down very much and makes browsing the Internet as uncomfortable as possible.

The best browsers today are considered to be the three most advanced and developed, that is Mozilla Firefox, Google chrome(as well as a bunch of browsers based on it, for example, Yandex Browser) and, of course, the old woman-Opera. Each of them has a special interface, some functions and other chips.

Flash Player

A necessary browser plugin, without which it will not work normally. You will not be able to turn on music for yourself on any website, start a movie or play any Flash game. You can download it immediately after installing the browser on the developer's official website.

Work with documents

Next, you need to ensure yourself a comfortable computer work with documents. That is, establish a normal text editor and others office applications, with the help of which it will be possible to conveniently interact with files.

Typically, most Windows 7 computers have a trial package after installation Microsoft Office one of the versions. But after completing the trial, you will have to buy this product. And not every person can afford it.

And here you can make a choice. Buy yourself a licensed MS Office or be content with the not so convenient and familiar OpenOffice, albeit for free. The package includes tools for working with all documents, including spreadsheets, presentations and text files.

This also includes a variety of readers and programs for opening and reading PDF files. By the way, PDF can also be opened in a browser, and it will be no worse to work with it.

Next steps

When all the necessary programs are already on the PC, you can install less important programs that you might need someday.

Burn discs

If the PC has a CD burner inside the PC, then a program for writing data to disk is vital. Who knows when you might need it. Therefore, you need to attend to the solution of this problem as quickly as possible.

Of course, in Windows 7, after installation, some kind of recording tool is already installed, but it is far from the most convenient. One of best programs to solve this problem - Nero or CDBurnerXP.

Disk imaging

Another very desirable utility for Windows that will appeal to everyone who works with disk images. As a rule, large games and applications are distributed in the form of an image, so you must first open it. And programs such as Daemon tools, with which you can read them, and Alcohol 120%, while working with which you can even create an image yourself.

Multimedia applications

Many users are unable to imagine themselves without catchy music or a good movie. But without special program installed on a PC, it is simply impossible to view anything. So, if you plan to watch or listen to something on your computer, you must first take care of installing programs such as Windows Media Player or KMPlayer as well as WinAmp.

Messengers

The large number of ways to communicate over the Internet makes your eyes run wild. And very often such an abundance of programs confuses the hapless user. As a rule, for a computer, it is advisable to immediately study:

  • Skype / Viber / WhatsApp are special applications available for phone and computer, with which you can communicate with other users. After installation, two modes are available - to call or write to the person with whom they want to meet or chat. Calls in these messengers are completely free and only require internet traffic.

  • ICQ / QIP and other old-style ICQ-like clients - made specifically for quick exchange messages. IN latest versions calls are also available, although they are not as convenient as in larger programs.

Applications for downloading from the Internet

There are entire software packages that are needed specifically to make it more convenient for the user to work with the network after installing them. These can be various traffic or Internet speed meters, clients for more convenient sorting and downloading of programs for Windows 7, and other utilities that are no less useful for a computer that can be found on the Internet.

Almost 2 years have passed since the release of Windows 10, but many users categorically do not accept the new system, remaining faithful to the old Windows 7. If your computer has “ten” installed, and for some reason you want to return to the “seven”, this article - For you.

You can roll back the operating system to a previous copy only when the last one is saved on the hard disk. If the car was initially "ten" or old system has been removed, upgrading to Windows 7 is only possible through a clean install. Today we'll talk about how to install Windows 7 instead of Windows 10 in two common cases:

  • You have upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10 and less than 10 days have passed since this event. Prerequisite: the Windows.old folder has been saved in the system partition, where all the files of the previous system installation are located.
  • The old copy of Windows 7 has not survived, but you are ready to reinstall it.

The ability to return to a previous copy of the system with saving user files, programs and settings exists, we repeat, only 10 days from the date of the update (before, 30 days were allotted for reflection, but now this period for some reason was reduced by 3 times). If you missed the deadline, skip to the clean install instructions section.

During the cancellation of the update, the programs and settings installed and made in Windows 10 will be deleted. You will receive your computer exactly in the same state as it was before the installation of the "dozens".

Before proceeding with the rollback procedure, Microsoft also recommends doing backup important files in case of possible failure.

Rollback from the current version of Windows 10

  • Boot the operating system normally. Open the Start menu and launch the Settings app.

  • Go to the Update & Security section.

  • Open the subsection "Recovery" and next to the item "Back to Windows 7" click "Start".

  • Check any of the reasons why you decided not to update and click "Next".

  • In the warning window, click Next again.

If the rollback is successful, after 30-40 minutes you will see the working again Windows table 7 with all the shortcuts, folders, files and everything else that was on it.

If the system does not boot after the update

Even if the update failed and the "dozen" stopped loading, you can still roll back your computer to Windows 7. To do this, you will need a disk or flash drive with the Windows 10 distribution to enter the recovery environment.

  • Connect the installation flash drive or place a DVD in the drive. Restart your computer, go to BIOS settings and assign the distribution drive first boot device... How to do this, read the article about.
  • When the Install window appears, click System Restore. This will take you to the recovery environment.

  • On the Select Action screen in the recovery environment, click on Diagnostics.

  • Select "Advanced Options"

  • Select Return to Previous Build from the list of advanced options.

  • To continue, click your account in the current version of Windows.

  • Enter your account password and click "Continue".

After that, the system will check for the presence of a previously installed copy (the Windows.old folder in the root partition of the C drive) and, if there is one, will start the rollback procedure.

Clean install Windows 7 instead of Windows 10

By a clean install of Windows 7, we mean deleting a previous copy of Windows 10 with or without formatting the system partition. In fact, it is no different from installing Windows on a new computer: you need bootable media with a distribution kit and a key for activating the OS, since the license "dozens" has no retroactive effect. And yet, you have a small chance to do without buying a new license if 2 conditions are met:

  • this computer previously had licensed Windows 7, which you subsequently upgraded to Windows 10;
  • the partition containing the licensed system was not formatted.

It is important to observe the same conditions when installing a new "seven": it must certainly be the same version and bit depth as the old one (if the old one was 32 bit, and you install 64 bit, the license will be invalid). In addition, during installation, it is necessary to save all data on the system partition. hard disk.

If saving the license is not critical for you, the edition of the newly installed system can be any.

Preparation

How to create a media with a Windows distribution and how to boot a computer from it, we talked about in the article on the methods of clean Windows installations 10. To write a bootable USB flash drive "seven", you can use the same utilities, except for Media Creation Tools, since it is intended only for working with the "ten".

To create installation disk DVD, just burn to it downloaded from the Internet Windows ISO Image 7, using any suitable program (Nero, UltraISO, Alcohol 120%) or our own Windows tools... When choosing the second option, place a blank disc in the drive, open context menu ISO file and click on the "Burn image" item.

Installation progress

Starting the installation process of the "seven", like others Windows versions, is possible in two ways:

  • If the computer is running Windows 10, which boots and works normally, just open the distribution kit and double-click on the Setup.exe file.
  • If the "ten" does not load or the installation program does not start in it for some reason, you should turn off the computer and boot it from the media with the distribution kit.

Further actions for both options are the same. Let's take a closer look at them.

  • In the first window that the installation program will open, you will have to select the main system language, date and time formats, currency and keyboard layout.

  • This is followed by the launch of the installation process itself. Click the Install button.

  • Agree to the terms of the license.

  • Select the type of installation. The "Update" option (with saving user files, programs and settings), unfortunately, will not work. It is possible only when the computer already has a working copy of Windows 7, so choose the full installation.

  • Next is the most responsible: choice partition hard disk where will be located new system... If you are hoping to keep the license, put the system in the same partition as Windows 10 and do not format it. If not, you can not only format but also resize the partition. Click "Disk Setup".

  • To change the capacity of a partition, click the "Create" button and specify its new size in the appropriate field. Apply the setting and click Next.

  • When the installer prompts you to create an additional partition for system files, click OK. If such a partition exists (and when reinstalling it should be), this window will not appear.

  • Now you can format your disk partitions. If you skip formatting the system partition, the files of the old copy of Windows and all other data will remain in place, but will be moved to the C: \ Windows.old folder. By the way, there are times when Windows cannot be installed without formatting. The reason is flaw free space in the system partition.

  • When you click the Format button, the installer will warn you that all data on the disk will be destroyed. If you agree, click OK.

  • Then you can take a break: copying and unpacking files of the new OS, installing components and updates does not require user participation. This stage lasts an average of 20-40 minutes.

  • After several restarts, you will see a window asking you to enter the first user and computer names. The account that is created during installation is given system administrator rights.

  • Next, you will be prompted to protect your account with a password. If you do not plan to use a password to log into Windows, leave these fields blank.

  • The next window is for entering the product key. If you have one (usually found on the branded label glued to the bottom of the laptop), fill in this field. If not, or if you plan to introduce it at a later date, click Skip. Also, don't forget to uncheck the box next to the offer. automatic activation systems when connected to the Internet.

  • After entering the key, the setup program prompts you to download and install Windows updates 7. Selecting "Use recommended settings" may delay the installation process for several hours - it all depends on the speed of the Internet and the volume of downloaded files. If you want to finish the installation faster, click "Postpone decision".

  • Configure the system time and time zone.

  • Specify the current network location of the computer. You can choose any, but for the sake of safety it is better to choose "Public". Later, when you install your antivirus and firewall, you can change this setting.

  • This is almost all. It remains to wait until the "seven" finishes applying the parameters.

  • It only takes a couple of minutes to prepare your desktop.

And here, finally, what you were aiming for: the Windows 7 desktop. So far, it is completely empty. There is no trace of what was in Windows 10, because you reinstalled the system from scratch. It remains to put the programs into it - and you can start using it.

I have a Windows 7 Recovery partition on my laptop. Is it possible to factory reset the system?

You probably know that the factory reset function is present on all laptops and branded PCs where the operating system is preinstalled by the manufacturer. It is enough to press a key - and the car is as pristine as it was from the store.

Factory reset- a really useful function, but ... exactly until the moment when you install on your computer another version of Windows, different from the seventh. The location and structure of the recovery subsystem to the factory state of each new OS is radically different from the previous one, therefore rollback windows 10 to the preinstalled Windows 7 becomes impossible.

On a computer, after each reinstallation of OS Windows 7, you have to reinstall all programs, drivers and connect peripheral devices. But in the century unlimited internet, a person cannot imagine his existence without him. Therefore, the problem of connecting the world network after reinstalling the operating system always remains relevant.

Internet connection via routers

Owners of routers (routers) are more fortunate, since all settings are stored directly on a separate device, so reinstallation is not scary, and you just need to make sure that correct setting the network between the PC and the router. On Windows 7, this can be checked in the Network and Sharing Center ( Start - Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network and Sharing Center). Further, in the left menu, click on the link "Changing adapter parameters"

and check that the item "connect via local network", For the main network adapter:

You can check the name of the main network card in the device manager. The easiest way to find it is to hold down the WIN + Pause key combination (the combination is supported in all OS versions, including Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1).

and in the device tree you need to find the sub-item " Network adapters". Here you will see a list of all network cards (including virtual ones) installed in the computer.

Another question is when there is not a single network card here, but there is unknown devices- install drivers for your network equipment.

If this does not help, check that you set the appropriate software... In the worst case - LAN card does not work and needs to be replaced.

When network connection will be established with the router - the Internet connection is activated automatically.

Direct internet connection using Windows 7 as an example

If you do not look at the fact that now most of the providers provide Internet services without using a login and password (binding by MAC address is used and you just need to insert the cable into the PC), let's take a closer look at how to set up and connect a computer to the Internet using a login and password (PPPoE protocol).

First you need to check how the network card works (checking network connection). Next, go to: "Start - Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center".

Here we select an item according to the picture:

In the next step, select "High Speed (with PPPoE)":

After selecting the type of connection, a window will appear with the fields that must be filled in accordingly and click the "Connect" button:

After filling in all the fields, the computer will try to connect using the previously entered data:

If no mistakes were made at the setup stage, you will be able to connect your Windows 7 computer to the world network right away. If, after all the actions, the Internet does not work, you need to delete the created connection and repeat the process again.

Another way to set up direct connection on Windows 7

Some providers for load balancing between servers work using another parameter called "Service Name". It improves connection stability, but adds hassle to casual users.

Disable automatic updates for Windows 7

I disable this feature first. Firstly, it is annoying, since updates pop up almost every day. Secondly, I don't need it.

Over the past 4 years, Windows 7 has worked perfectly: there were no glitches or glitches, no viruses either. And this is completely without updates. Therefore, in terms of PC security, everything is fine, and I don't particularly care about any vulnerabilities and holes.

By the way, it is definitely recommended to disable this function if you have an unlicensed Windows 7 installed. Otherwise, activation will fly off or even something worse will happen (there are smart people in Microsoft who regularly delight pirates with "pleasant" surprises in new updates).

An important point for laptop owners. Although on the computer, you can also configure the power plan.

The default is Balanced. If the computer is gaming, or vice versa - too weak - you can turn on the "High performance" mode. To extend the battery life of your laptop, there is a "Save Energy" option. But performance in this case will be reduced.

Here you can also configure when to turn off the display and put the computer to sleep. To do this, go to Start - Control Panel - Power Supply.
And in a new window, click on the line "Power plan settings" and select the desired option (you can also select "Never" here).

After that, you need to configure Windows 7:

This is how you can customize Windows 7 after reinstallation. But that's not all. There is one more important point left.

Installing programs

After the primary Windows setup 7 has been completed, you need to install the programs. First of all, antivirus. You may also need:

  • new browser;

  • video and audio player;

  • Microsoft Office package;

  • video and audio codecs, etc.

Now that's it. You were able to customize Windows after reinstalling, and it looks much prettier now. And it works faster. As you can see, setting up the operating system is easy.

And if you suddenly decide to reinstall it again, then from now on you already know what to do after installing Windows 7, right?
