Starter 5.6.2.9

Starter is great app, which performs the simple but important task of monitoring and managing startup items. It lists all the entries that are loaded when the system starts and it is possible to delete those that are not necessary and clog up the system.

Starter has a great advantage over similar applications: the utility lists startup items by user, allowing you to decide what needs to be downloaded for each user that exists on the computer. The user interface is very clear and friendly. All elements in a large area where you can delete or add new entries. Disabling the startup item is done by clicking a button; editing and file properties are also available.
In the Processes section, you can choose whether to terminate or assign a priority level to any of the running processes, while the next tab shows the active services. The behavior of Starter can be changed in the “Options” menu, where there are options for customization appearance and language.
An added bonus is the ability to see memory/CPU usage and statistics. This can be done using the toolbar, which is located at the bottom of the main window, but can be easily removed from the Configuration window if this bothers you.

In conclusion, Starter is very reliable and convenient program. It does not affect system resources and successfully fulfills its main purpose: to allow you to manage the applications that are loaded at system startup and select those that retain their place and which do not.

Hello to all blog readers It takes a long time to loadsystem, sooner or later every PC user faces this problem. This phenomenon is quite common. There are many reasons for this. One of them is - large number programs recorded in startup at startup operating system. It manifests itself like this: the desktop seems to have already appeared and the shortcuts are also visible, but instead of the usual mouse cursor you see an hourglass or a spinning puck. All this can take a minute or more. During this period of time ( while the hourglass hangs) are loaded into the RAM memory of programs that were registered in startup when the OS started. That's why removing programs from startup, will help you save on nerves and speed up your PC boot. One wonderful Starter utility will help us with this.

Starter program.

Anyone who wants to speed up the system boot will have to edit the startup list. This list grows over time. Programs such as YaOnline, Mail.ru Agent, ICQ, Skype, and so on are prescribed in autoload. In addition, some viruses and spyware may also be on this list. So on to practice.

Program Starter is intended for editing the startup list. It is free, in Russian, does not require installation and is easy to use. As they say, a simple tool for solving complex problems. You can download it. Unpack the archive wherever it is more convenient for you. Run the file Starter.exe and set up the Russian language.

Removing programs from startup.

Now the actual use of the program. After launch, we see the main window, which has three tabs: Startup, Processes ( By the way, this tab is an excellent replacement for the standard task manager) and Services. Us in at the moment I'm interested in the first one.

Actually here we see a list of programs. In order to disable autoloading of the program, select it from the list, uncheck the box and confirm this action by clicking YES. If the program is not familiar to you and you are unsure whether to remove it or not, double-click on it and in the window that appears you can read detailed information about what kind of application this is. But even if you uncheck the box and something later goes wrong, you can return it all back because the program remains in the list and simply does not start.

By the way, detailed information about a particular program is a very useful thing. This is how viruses can be detected. All normal programs, as a rule, are correctly signed by their developers. Viruses often do not have this, which means they need to be removed and removed. With this program you can easily get to executable file one or another process. Right click Click on the desired line and select “Explorer to program folder.” Then we delete everything we don’t like.

Windows OS also has a built-in tool for editing the startup list. You can call it like this: Start - Run- enter the command msconfig. We see this window.

Select the tab we need and edit. But in my opinion it is not convenient. And over many years of practice, I noticed that not all programs that end up in startup are displayed here. Well, purely visually the interface is not very friendly. The banal lack of process icons turns me off. Well, of course, to each his own. This is pure IMHO

I periodically check the list of programs that are included in startup, and delete everything that is not needed. There are results the computer works faster, system boot time is noticeably reduced.

Sometimes STARTER.EXE and other errors system errors EXE may be related to problems in the Windows registry. Several programs can use the STARTER.EXE file, but when those programs are uninstalled or modified, sometimes "orphaned" (incorrect) EXE registry entries are left behind.

Basically, this means that while the actual path of the file may have changed, its incorrect former location is still recorded in the Windows Registry. When Windows tries to look up these incorrect file references (file locations on your PC), STARTER.EXE errors can occur.
