Smartphone in thin metal case... With a 5.2-inch screen, it has a compact body size. Not deprived of memory, both operational and permanent. There is a fingerprint scanner.

Introduction

In 2016, Samsung launched a new line Galaxy smartphones C. Smartphones of this series were developed specifically for the Chinese market and are unlikely to be officially introduced in other countries. At least for today this is so, and since the release in June 2016, enough time has passed. C series B apparatus lineup Samsung falls somewhere between the A and S series and has both the characteristics of the premium models and the disadvantages of the company's budget smartphones. By ordering Samsung Galaxy C5 from China, it must be remembered that due to the fact that the devices are intended for sale in the Chinese market, there is no version 6.0 in the pre-installed Android operating system. google apps, including the app store Play Market... The situation is saved by the presence official firmware for Hong Kong, which does not differ from the firmware installed on smartphones sold in the world and has everything you need for normal operation.

Instructions

Design, appearance of the device

Samsung Galaxy C5 is a candy bar made of metal and glass. It is available in several colors: Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, Dark Gray. With a screen diagonal of 5.2 inches, the smartphone measures 145.9 x 72 x 6.7 mm, which makes it one of the smallest smartphones with a similar screen size. The glass has rounded edges, the so-called 2.5D, and a high-quality oleophobic coating. Samsung claims that the glass is scratch resistant, but more detailed information the manufacturer and type of glass used could not be obtained from the company. Let's hope it is made using a technology similar to Gorilla Glass or Dragontrail.

In the upper part there are: front-camera, earpiece grille, proximity / lighting sensors and LED event indicator. The indicator is exactly what the model borrowed from its more expensive counterparts, like the fingerprint scanner. The Home key this time is flush with the surface of the front panel, which is not only beautiful, but also practical, because it is made of plastic and can be easily scratched. The back panel is completely metal, except for the antenna dividers. It has a slightly protruding camera lens, LED flash and Samsung logo pressed into the metal. At the top we see only the noise canceling microphone. On the left are the volume control keys, and on the right are the power key and a tray for SIM cards and a memory card (a memory card is installed instead of the second SIM card). The keys are pressed pleasantly and resiliently, although there is a barely noticeable backlash, which does not cause discomfort. At the bottom there are: 3.5 headphone jack, microphone, Micro USB connector and speaker grill.

The smartphone looks very harmonious and, thanks to the materials used and the build quality, is expensive. Due to its relatively light weight and low thickness, it is pleasant to hold in your hands. Personally, I get a real aesthetic pleasure from this smartphone.

Display

The smartphone is equipped with a 5.2 mm Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, which gives a density of 424 ppi. The picture is of high quality, it is well read in the sun, the colors are bright and juicy. There is an opportunity to adjust the color rendition. Nevertheless, as is often the case on AMOLEDs, it is not always possible to withstand a uniform white color. On my copy, the white color "walks" slightly from the top to the bottom of the screen. But this is if you look specifically. The Full HD screen resolution is enough to not notice the pixelation of the image and, at the same time, to save battery power. In my opinion, with such a diagonal, a higher resolution would be already superfluous.

The adaptive brightness control works adequately and does not attract attention to itself.

The touch keys located under the screen are backlit, but, unfortunately, there is no vibration when pressed, as in the younger Samsung models.

The Samsung Galaxy C5 has a 2600 mAh Li-Ion battery, which at first glance may seem insufficient. However, a relatively modest processor, coupled with an economical Super AMOLED display and adequate screen resolution, allow the device to work day and night with an average load. If you do not play gluttonous games, then you will not need to charge your smartphone during the day. And in case you are using your smartphone to the fullest, there is a technology fast charging Adaptive Fast Charging, with which you can charge it very quickly.

Performance

One of weak points This smartphone is equipped with a pair of Snapdragon 617 processor and a relatively outdated Adreno 405 graphics chip. Despite this, with eight cores, the processor provides reliable operation of the interface and most applications. Contributes to this and as much as 4 gigabytes of RAM. In the AnTuTu benchmark, the Galaxy C5 scored 45,200 points. This is quite enough for the average user, but if you like to play modern 3D games, then it may be worth paying attention to more productive platforms.

Camera

Modern technologies today have reached the level when even budget smartphones give an acceptable quality of shooting. The competitive moment shifted to more complex matters, shooting at night, the possibilities of manual mode, etc. The Galaxy C5 has a 16MP autofocus camera, but no OIS. And here we bit off a little so that it would not be too good. Samsung is very afraid of internal competition between its models. Photos in good lighting are excellent, the color rendition is quite accurate. When poor lighting, unfortunately, it is immediately noticeable that this camera is far from the flagships. I will give as an example a few photos taken in different conditions.

Not so long ago, Samsung announced its intention to release a fresh line of smartphones for the mid-price category. And it's not even about the updated A-series models that appeared on the market in early 2017. We are talking about Galaxy C, not the most famous, but no less interesting line of South Korean devices, which is developing at a rapid pace. Let's start with a review of the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro smartphone.

Specifications

Initially, Galaxy C positioned itself as an improved analogue of the Galaxy A series. Phones had a completely metal body without glass inserts (A has them), a large amount of RAM (but cannot boast of it), a processor with a good level of performance and the latest Android. These were the Samsung Galaxy C5 and C7. But at the end of 2016, the Korean manufacturer expanded the series of mid-range smartphones and the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro entered the market, instantly causing a resonance among the “residents” of the mobile gadgets sphere.

Housing

The appearance of the smartphone is not much different from most of its congeners at Samsung. The front panel of the phone includes a standard kit. This, of course, is the display, as well as the speaker located above it, the front camera, the proximity sensor and the manufacturer's logo. A mechanical Home button and two invisible sensors - "Return" and "List of Applications" were placed at the bottom.

The phone has a stylish metal body and 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4

The body of the phone, like any model of the line, is completely made of glass. The Galaxy C9 Pro shares some similarities with the Galaxy J5 Prime - not only because of the duplicate design of the front, but also because of the strong similarity of the rear panels. However, the J5 Prime has plastic inserts on the top and bottom of the case, which makes the phone extremely fragile in those places. The C9 Pro, due to its all-metal “attire”, did not take over the weak points from its senior colleague. The device pleases the owners with its durability.

The dimensions of the phone are surprising, but they do it nicely. The dimensions of the case are 162.9 x 80.7 mm with a thickness of 6.9 mm. Weight is 189 g. The gadget has a very large display, but the creators of the model managed to maintain its ergonomics. Thanks to the comfortable and well-thought-out proportions, the C9 Pro fits like a glove in the hand.

Unfortunately, there are not so many available colors: rose gold, gold and dark gray.

Technachinka

The phone is equipped with an eight-core Snapdragon 653 processor, clocked at 1.9 GHz. The processor consists of four Cortex A72 cores and the same number of Cortex A53. As a graphics processor, there is a fresh Adreno 510.

Such a technical base allows the phone to cope with various daily tasks without any problems. Will not disappoint the device and inveterate mobile gamers - the hardware in the C9 Pro runs almost all games without any whims. The exception is heavy and resource-intensive 3D “monsters”. Still, it is worth remembering that this is a mid-range phone, and not a senior representative of the flagship line.

The gadget has the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with a lightweight custom TouchWiz shell. It allows you to make the most of the large screen real estate.

Reversible USB connector significantly saves cable connection time

Home function button

The familiar mechanical Home button, located under the screen, now combines several useful functions. First, it can serve as a fingerprint scanner, with which you reliably protect your data from prying eyes. Secondly, double-clicking this button automatically launches the camera, eliminating the need to unlock the phone. Thirdly, a triple tap on Home will put the phone into one-handed mode. It is very convenient if, for example, you are riding in public transport while standing and the other hand is busy with the handrail.

Blue filter

It's great to see how developers care about their customers. For example, the guys from Samsung are doing everything so that the user can spend as much time as possible with his device, and for this they are trying to make the interaction process as easy as possible. If your eyes get tired of a bright phone screen, the developers from Samsung have already thought about this and put a blue filter in the C9 Pro.It will carefully reduce the brightness of the screen and relieve the strain from the owner's eyes.

Always-On-Display

The developers also figured out how to save their fans from the painful check for updates and notifications. Samsung GalaxyC9 Pro is equipped with Always-On-Display. When activated, a different display is displayed on the phone screen even in inactive mode. helpful information- calendar, clock, new notifications and more.

A useful feature that almost all phones older than economy class are equipped with, Always-On-Display, brings important notifications to the screen even in offline mode

Camera capabilities

Like some of the A-line models, the C9 Pro has the same power for the main and front cameras. They both have 16 megapixels and have a f / 1.9 focal length. Autofocus is provided for them, which in turn is equipped with phase detection technology. Of course, even in spite of the high resolution of the lenses, comparing images from a mid-range phone and any flagship from a more luxurious niche is not the most interesting thing. The quality of the images obtained on the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro turns out to be very decent for a mid-range phone, but not flagship.

The phone has several built-in modes, including HDR. If earlier this mode caused many doubts about its necessity and usefulness, now, perhaps, more and more users note that this mode is very necessary. Especially when shooting city landscapes, where the conditions are rather difficult for competently arranging photography. This mode allows you to maintain the light balance of the image, not allowing some objects to "fall" into the darkness, while others, on the contrary, remain exposed.

Daytime shooting

During the day and in good light, the C9 Pro produces excellent photo quality. Detail, brightness, saturation and clarity of images - you will have all this, no need to worry. The phone pulls out the color rendition “with a bang” - the tones and halftones are as close as possible to the original. The pictures come out juicy, but at the same time they look natural, without overexposure and leaving in neon colors. The camera adjusts the white balance extremely accurately and quickly, the same can be said about the brightness. Among other things, autofocus works very quickly.

Photo gallery: Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro daytime shooting features

During daytime shooting, bright and saturated images are obtained. The temperature of the photo, as always, is slightly overestimated, but this is only beneficial for photos. In dimmer lighting, the camera slightly reduces the level of detail and a little noise appears in the photo
The camera demonstrates excellent white balance and fast autofocusing, but the foreground often falls into darkness Macro mode also impresses with the level of detail Color rendition in macro mode is excellent, autofocus does not junk
The HDR mode is quite effective, which brings the light balance of photos to harmony, eliminating gaps and overexposures.

Night shooting

At night, which also did not come as a surprise, the quality of the shooting dropped noticeably. Unfortunately, the cameras of almost everyone behave in this way. Samsung models, except perhaps for the S line. In a poorly lit room or on the street in the evening and at night, the C9 Pro will not be able to please its owner with clear, bright and saturated images. With a lack of light, the camera starts to produce noise, the level of detail drops and the focusing time increases. The picture becomes less attractive, dull, blurry in places. To achieve any decent result with the phone, you have to tinker. For example, take not one, but a couple of dozen test shots, or take the most stable position, which would reduce the likelihood of camera shake to zero. This situation would be a little easier if the developers prudently added the optical stabilization function to the phone. However, the C9 Pro lacks this feature, so at night its owners will have to work hard to get a good shot.

Shooting in a well-lit room turns out to be good, but far from ideal The colors are no longer so saturated, and the image is not so clear The phone is equipped with two types of flash - with cold light and warm light

Front-camera

As already mentioned, the front camera of the C9 Pro is not inferior to the main camera. Its resolution is also 16 megapixels. The camera is equipped with a flash, which is a soft backlight of the phone screen. Among other things, the front camera has a beauty mod - a mode that will remove flaws and make your selfies even more beautiful.

Can a cat be even more beautiful than he is? Yes, with the Galaxy C9 Pro beauty mod it will become simply irresistible

Filming

The video resolution reaches 4K UHD quality (3840 x 2160) with a frame rate of 30 fps. The quality of the video recording is quite high both in the daytime and at night. The only drawback is poor electronic stabilization, which gives the impression of its complete absence. The rest of the video is not satisfactory.

The next flagship phone of the South Korean company has appeared - Samsung Galaxy S4. It gives a chance to even more firmly establish itself in the smartphone market, confirming its dominance among Android devices.

Samsung's new flagship improves on almost every aspect of the previous model by bundling more powerful hardware with a host of new software features. The gadget has received a bunch of new sensors, aiming for an all-in-one tool.

Let's immediately note the main disadvantages that the device has in our opinion:

  • the design began to gradually become obsolete;
  • externally, the smartphone looks worse than the aluminum HTC One or the glass Sony Xperia Z;
  • no FM radio;
  • video recording is slightly worse than in the Galaxy S3;
  • The overall camera interface makes framing pretty tricky.

Now let's move on to more detailed review the main characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the new smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with standard set accessories you would expect in a box. This is an A / C adapter to be used with the included microUSB cable, headphones that are incomparably better than those included with the Galaxy S3. This time, all accessories are painted white.

The new HS330 headphones are equipped with dual speakers, which allow better reproduction of highs and low frequencies sound.

The earbuds have also been redesigned in shape, material and size to make them more comfortable. The control buttons on the headset are also improved over the Galaxy S3.

Now let's go directly to the exterior. The dimensions of the Galaxy S4 are likely to be one of the achievements, as the smartphone is the same height as its predecessor, but it is 0.8 mm narrower, 0.7 mm thinner and 3 grams lighter. And this is all despite the 0.2-inch enlarged screen, a more capacious battery, which is still removable. So, the dimensions of the phone are 136.6x69.8x7.9 mm, and the weight is 130 grams.

The screen of the gadget is covered with the new Gorilla Glass 3. This glass has a new composition and provides increased resistance to scratches. In fact, early tests showed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is more difficult to scratch than the Galaxy S3.

The design has changed little when comparing the new product with its predecessor. The phone uses the same Hyperglazed finish, which, in our opinion, is a disadvantage for the gadget, since holding the smartphone in your hands you feel not a flagship device, but a plastic toy. In this he loses Htc one and Sony Xperia Z.

This does not mean, however, that the Galaxy S4 looks worse than its predecessor. The new texture gives it a more serious and stylish look, while rear panel now looks different depending on the viewing angle.

Thin bezels left more room for a shiny screen, but more on that later. Slim body has a higher vibration level. Also note that now the black paint will be available from the very beginning of sales.

Note that the new product is easier to use than the Samsung Galaxy S3. It is also more comfortable to hold in your hand than the HTC One.

The Samsung smartphone has a lot of sensors that are scattered throughout the body, but the basic controls and their placement have remained largely unchanged.

Below the display you will find the same three buttons as in the Galaxy S3 - touch-sensitive "Menu" and "Back", as well as a mechanical "Home".

There is additional functionality: when pressed for a long time, the "Menu" button processes Google Now, while "Home" brings up the task switcher, there are other possibilities, which are described in more detail in the instructions.

Above the display is a speaker, a bunch of sensors, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera. There is an LED indicator, a traditional ambient light sensor, an IR gesture sensor that allows you to control some applications such as a web browser and a music player.

There is a paired volume rocker on the left side of the Samsung Galaxy S4, while the power / lock button is on the right. Unfortunately, although the camera has received a significant update, the control button is still missing. You can use the volume key to take a photo, but it cannot completely replace the two-stage (aim and release) button.

At the top you can see a 3.5 mm headphone jack and an IR sensor that allows you to use your smartphone as a remote control remote control for household appliances... There is a preinstalled application that will allow you to control some devices.

The microUSB port at the bottom is used for data transfer and charging. It not only supports USB-host, but also MHL 2.0, which provides the ability to output 3D Full HD video to TV without an external power source. Previously, you had to connect Charger, but then we got rid of it.

Also at the bottom is the main microphone.

On the back of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a 13MP Full HD camera. Like the Galaxy S3, the LED flash is nearby, but the speaker grill has been moved to the lower left edge of the device.

Performance and software

The Samsung Galaxy S4, which we have in our hands, is equipped with a Snapdragon 600 chipset. We, of course, know that there will be a modification with an 8-core Exynos 5 Octa, but for now we will test the available version of the smartphone.

The Krait 4-core 1.9GHz gadget with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU should show excellent performance in our opinion. Built-in memory - from 16 to 64 GB, depending on the version, there is a slot for microSD cards... Operating system - Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The device of the South Korean company bypassed the HTC One and Optimus G Pro in single-threaded (Benchmark Pi) and multi-threaded (LinPack) benchmarks. Both of these phones use the same chipset, but only clocked at 1.7GHz.

Geekbench 2 is a cross-platform benchmark that compares the Galaxy S4 to the iPhone 5, which scores twice as bad. HTC One and LG Optimus G Pro also lagged behind the test device, although we should note that they use more old version Android OS 4.1.2. Recall that in the new Samsung flagship operating system - Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Now let's move on to compound tests. In AnTuTu, our gadget was again at the top, and in Quadrant the difference between it and Optimus G Pro is very small. Although HTC One lagged far behind here.

Now let's test the graphics. In GLBenchmark 2.5 in 1080p off-screen mode, our smartphone confidently won. The Galaxy S4 also topped the Epic Citadel benchmark, although the 60fps limitation played a role here. Without that, perhaps there was a big difference with the HTC One. However, this benchmark uses the Unreal Engine, which is sometimes found in high-end 3D mobile games, and shows real performance.

Finally, JavaScript and HTML 5 performance testing. The smartphone performed well in these benchmarks, but lagged behind the Galaxy Note II. We used Android Browser for the test, not Google chrome which is also pre-installed.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 with the Snapdragon 600 chipset showed excellent performance even in places like heavy animated galleries and video players.

There is support for Wi-Fi, GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS, 3G and LTE (optional), Bluetooth 4.0.

Screen

One of the most important updates brought by the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the new 5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The gadget has a PenTile matrix with a pixel density of 441 ppi.

The PenTile design has also been redesigned so that there are twice as many green subpixels as blue and red subpixels, and their location has also changed. However, this, of course, is not noticeable without a microscope.

The image quality is excellent. The smartphone has an impressive contrast ratio and near-perfect viewing angles. Rich colors turn anyone, even the most boring, into an amazingly vivid image and are beyond the reach of any LCD display. If you're not a fan of oversaturated AMOLED displays, Samsung gives you the option to change saturation to a more natural level.

The brightness levels of the Samsung Galaxy S4 are roughly on par with the rest of the company's AMOLED matrices, that is, it is not very high. However, due to the low reflectivity, it does not affect the image in sunlight. Keep in mind that turning on auto settings on the screen limits the maximum brightness to 300 nits, so if it matters to you, it's best to keep it.

Of course, Nokia is brighter than the AMOLED display in the Galaxy S4, but the difference is not so dramatic. The South Korean smartphone showed good image quality in sunlight, although it is surprising that it did not overtake the Galaxy S3 in this indicator, despite the higher brightness. Perhaps the new Gorilla glass brought additional reflections and thus made up for the benefits.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13-megapixel camera capable of taking pictures of 4128x3096 pixels. There is also a 2-megapixel front camera, which is capable of photographing and recording video simultaneously with the main one.

It is possible to include various effects. They can be previewed so you can see how a particular scene will look when you apply the effect.

Let's take a look at the different modes. There are standard ones like Rich Tone (), Panorama, Night and Sports. Panoramic shots are quite impressive, they can be 360 degrees or more, and can be more than 60 MP (note that if you hold the phone vertically, the panoramic image will be almost twice the resolution). Here's an example of a panorama.

The gadget has many shooting modes, which are described in the instructions. All of them are good and useful, but we need to answer the question, is the Galaxy S4 camera good at shooting? The answer is yes, yes, very good. The South Korean company has gone to great lengths to maintain good image quality while upscaling.

In the photo, you can distinguish many small details, but there is little noise. Colors are accurate, maybe slightly oversaturated, and the white balance is somewhere between neutral and cool (typical for Samsung phone cameras). The smartphone retains the details of the image in the darkened zone, however, sometimes at the expense of detailing in the light. To fix this, you can use the HDR mode.

Samsung Galaxy S4 records video in format MP4 with bitrate 17 Mbps on average. Stereo sound is saved at 128 bit rate Kbps and sampling rate 48 kHz.

The camcorder does not provide users with so many shooting modes, but there are some effects here too. For example, you can do slow movements, double shooting. Slow motion video can go up to 8x slowdown, but the resolution drops to 800x450 pixels, and the frame rate drops to 15 per second. Typical video settings are 1920 x 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second.

Touch focus is available before and during movie recording, and you can return to continuous AF if you want. You can take 9.6 megapixel (16: 9) photos while recording.

In the video, taken by phone, you can see a lot of small details and little noise. The colors and white balance are similar to those obtained in the photographs, generally accurate, but slightly oversaturated and with a cold white balance shift. One thing that can be attributed to the downside is the narrowed field of view. It is smaller than the Galaxy S III and HTC One. The difference is quite noticeable, with the Galaxy S4 capturing a lot less than the competition.

The video quality itself isn't much better than the Galaxy S III. You can check this yourself by comparing the records. An example captured on a Galaxy S4 is shown below.

When we turned on digital video stabilization, it became more detailed, and the contrast improved. Below is an example in which stabilization is enabled.

Battery

Removing the cover that covers the battery compartment reveals a microSIM slot, an updated removable 2,600mAh battery and a microSD card slot. The memory card slot is hot-swappable.

As it turned out during our battery testing, the extra 500 mAh is easily eaten up by high screen resolutions and more power-hungry chipsets. As a result, no significant superiority over its predecessor is observed. Endurance during video playback and web browsing was only slightly improved, but in standby mode it took a huge step forward. This, of course, is understandable: after all, the chipset does not process any applications, and the screen is off.

The gadget can autonomously work for 13 hours 53 minutes when talking using 3G networks, 8 hours 42 minutes when surfing the Internet and 10 hours 16 minutes when playing high-definition video.

Testing has shown that a smartphone can last an average of 63 hours if used for an hour a day for web browsing, video and telephony.

The cost

The cost of Samsung Galaxy S4 in the Russian market will depend on the modification:

- 16 GB / 3G - 29,990 rubles;

- 64 GB / 3G - 36,990 rubles;

- 16 GB / LTE - 29,990 rubles;

- 64 GB / LTE - 36,990 rubles.

At the end of 2016, Samsung expanded its line of mid-range C smartphones and launched the new Galaxy C9 Pro. Owners of this device will be able to get at their disposal as much as 6 GB of RAM and a 6-inch AMOLED display. None of the company's smartphones, including the flagship models, have such a memory capacity and screen size, so the new product immediately aroused deafening interest in the field mobile devices... Let's study the review and conduct a detailed Samsung description Galaxy C9 Pro.

Design and appearance

Externally, the smartphone is a classic design from Samsung. The designers have kept the original concept and vision of how a mobile phone should look. Clean contours, straight lines and a one-piece metal body create an ergonomic and stylish look.

The first thing that catches your eye is the size of the display. He's really great here. The 6-inch screen is used for the first time in smartphones of this brand. Surprisingly, the handset feels no more than the iPhone 7 Plus, which has a 5.5-inch display. This is achieved due to the fact that engineers and designers were able to competently think over the ergonomics of the phone. With impressive dimensions of 162.9x80.7x6.9 mm, the Galaxy C9 Pro is surprisingly good in the hand and allows you to conveniently use all the buttons.

The new model is available in two colors: gold and pink. It is worth noting a new design innovation in the form of antennas with three stripes along the edges of the rear panel. This version looks much brighter than the usual wide stripes that stand out against the general background of the metal body.

Below the display is the standard Home button with a fingerprint sensor. To the left of it is the multitasking key, and to the right is the back button. The control buttons are invisible on the panel and, when activated, are illuminated by LEDs.

The standard volume keys are located on the left side of the phone. The bottom of the case houses the headphone and USB-C jacks, as well as the microphone and speaker. Additional overhead speakers and a microphone are also located above the display. On the back, near the camera, there is a dual-color dual LED flash.

On the right side of the phone is the power button and two slots for microSD and SIM. A pleasant surprise lurks here. The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro does not present owners with a choice of how to make the best use of the available slots. If you want, you can add up to 256GB of additional memory, while still leaving room for two 4G LTE SIM cards. This is the undoubted advantage of the new smartphone.

Multimedia

The AMOLED display is capable of delivering detailed images in FullHD 1080p resolution. The picture on the screen has rich shades and colors. Brightness and contrast are excellent as usual. Samsung knows how to please their audience, so finding complaints about the display can be tricky. The 6-inch diagonal has become one of the main features of the new smartphone. With such a screen, a completely different experience opens up when watching videos or playing games in applications.

Camera

In the Galaxy C9 Pro, the main and front cameras have the same 16MP resolution. The lenses have an f / 1.9 aperture and phase detection autofocus. The cameras shoot in good quality, but in comparison with the flagship models, they can be called mediocre. The dynamic range is rather weak, but at the same time the HDR mode performs well. It allows you to get optimal shadows and balance in the bright areas of your photos. Video shooting takes place in 1080p resolution at 30 FPS. The only one significant disadvantage the absence of an electronic image stabilization system can be called, but in general, video recording remains at its best. All photos and videos are characterized by maximum detail, color saturation and good focus.

Sound

The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro has advanced audio features. The new smartphone has stereo speakers with support for the popular Cirrus Logic codec. It opens up a new sound of your favorite tracks with a high-quality bass range.

Internal filling

For the European and American markets, the smartphone is presented in the SM-C900F configuration. It is powered by an eight-core Snapdragon 653 processor clocked at 1.95 GHz. The chipset uses four high-performance Cortex A72 cores and four energy efficient Cortex A53 cores. The quality and processing of graphic elements is ensured by the new video accelerator Adreno 530. Huge, by the usual standards, 6GB of RAM are responsible for instant performance and responsiveness of the smartphone when working with "heavy" applications. The standard built-in memory is 64GB. For those for whom this is not enough, an additional microSD slot expanding memory up to 256GB. The smartphone is powered by operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow with functional and stylish TouchWiz interface.

There are no complaints about the performance of the mobile phone. It does a great job with daily options and basic tasks. Large amount of RAM provides high performance and multitasking. You will be able to open up to 6 applications on the screen in PopView mode and the phone will still show excellent results. The latest gaming news can be easily launched at high graphics settings. Of the minuses, it can only be noted that with continuous loads from applications, the upper part of the case begins to warm up significantly.

Accumulator battery

A smartphone with 6 GB of RAM and a large screen requires a large battery for reliable and long-lasting operation. Samsung has taken this aspect into account and installed a 4,000mAh battery. The model has a fashionable function Quick Charge 2.0, which allows you to charge the battery up to 100% in an hour and a half. With normal operation and standard screen activity, the device will last 24 hours. With intensive use and continuous work with applications, the charge will last 6-7 hours.

Summing up, we can safely say that the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro turned out to be a successful and multifunctional smartphone. Almost all customer reviews are positive - they note the good build quality and elaboration of all elements of the phone, excellent characteristics. In the domestic market, the model is sold at an average price of $ 470.

The new inexpensive, but very "capable" phablet from the Korean company is definitely worthy of writing small overview Samsung Galaxy C7 (not to be confused with Galaxy S7).

The Galaxy C7 has been paired with the Galaxy C5. Both are thin metal smartphones of very stylish appearance, which do not in any way resemble the notorious "remnants" of Samsung of past years. But if the C5 is a "classic", then the Galaxy C7 is a real "giant" with a screen diagonal of 5.7 inches (we do not take into account huge "overgrowths" over 6 inches, these are more likely tablets).

In general, the Samsung Galaxy C7 is exactly the “golden mean” that has been lacking so far. Galaxy S7 Edge is too "conceptual" and expensive, the same can be said about the Note line.

The same can be said about the current Galaxy A7 (2016). At the other "price" end is the Galaxy J7 (2016), but it clearly does not shine with technical characteristics.

Specifications

At the heart of the Samsung Galaxy C7 is a very powerful "eight-core" Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625, which is successfully complemented by 4 Gb of RAM. In terms of performance, it is almost as good as last year's top 810 chipset from Qualcomm.

Depending on the configuration, the Galaxy C7 can have either 32 or 64 GB of internal flash memory. Installing a MicroSD card is also possible, for this, a second SIM card slot is used (all Galaxy C7 are Duos, that is, they support the installation of two cellular cards).

In general, the new Galaxy C7 will cope with almost any modern smartphone software, not excluding even games with 3D graphics. It is worth noting that the power consumption of the Snapdragon 625 is much better than that of the same Snapdragon 820 or last year's 810.

Other characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy C7:

  1. 5.7-inch display, FullHD 1920 × 1080 resolution, SuperAMOLED, pixel density (~ 386 ppi)
  2. Supports 4G LTE Cat4 150/50 Mbps networks
  3. NFC adapter (international version possible with Samsung Pay support)
  4. GPS / GLONASS / BeiDou navigation (depending on the country)
  5. Samsung Ultra High Sound Quality (UHQA) Audio Dynamic Range Restoration
  6. Operating room Android system OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with a proprietary TouchWiz shell
  7. 16 MP rear camera with f / 1.9 aperture, autofocus, dual flash and OIS (overall similar to Galaxy C5)
  8. Fingerprint scanner integrated into the Home button

The battery capacity is 3300 mAh (Galaxy C5 has 2600 mAh). This is generally good enough for such a thin smartphone. Also worth noting is the very efficient Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.

Appearance

As mentioned at the beginning, the Samsung Galaxy C7 is very slim smartphone in a metal case, the stylish design of which attracts attention from the first time. A small protrusion of the main camera module does not spoil the impression at all.

The smartphone is now available in three colors: gold, silver and pink (the so-called Pink Rose). If we compare the device with numerous Chinese handicrafts in a metal case, which are not riveted in the Middle Kingdom, except perhaps the laziest, then against their background it is least like the Apple iPhone.

The cost

So far, the Samsung Galaxy C7 has not yet begun to be sold in Russia. Nevertheless, it is expected that it will be possible to buy it for about 25,000 rubles. Deliveries outside of China will start no earlier than July.

Among the inexpensive but powerful alternatives to the Galaxy C7, it is worth considering, for example, Vernee Apollo Lite, which in terms of rubles costs a little more than 15,000 rubles.
