    Good camera(I ask you not to compare it with a digital camera) but it's still good for a mobile phone. Well, what's more, the buttons are comfortable and pleasant backlighting.

    1) Terribly quiet sound (leaves much to be desired) 2) After 2 months of careful use, bubbles began to appear on the panel, after nafig began to climb 3) The buttons of the player stick (I don’t know, maybe marriage) 4) The SIM card connector is just miserable. Jewish design (this is the first time I've seen this) 5) The back cover has a backlash 6) This just makes me infuriate when you insert dibilniki (headphones), then the phone does not open completely (nonsense)

    The calendar often hangs, it just does not switch to another day, the camera hangs, informs that the application is already in use, when the escalator falls onto the canvas, it crumbles in 2 places and the panel with the keys comes off, the video on the computer is of poor quality, the sound from the speaker periodically disappears, the beginning had to be charged very often, especially when listening to music - it was enough for 3 hours a day (listening)

    The only thing that upsets is that today I noticed that he began to peel off a little. Although they told me in the store that this is a new batch and they no longer peel off. The phone is 5 months old, I always wear it in a case and, in general, I even still have films. Very disappointing.

    a little heavy ...

    2 years ago 0

    the body wears out quickly, the original is expensive. some electronics flaws (shortens the tracks on the boards) - payment for the thickness, but they can be easily and quickly corrected with adhesive tape. the battery lasts for 40 minutes of video call or an hour and a half of talk time (3G), high voltage keyboard backlight - when moisture gets into it, it shocks very noticeably

They say that Nokia N76 is just a fashion statement. This is not entirely fair. Of course, the stylish slim body, ideologically identical to the famous MotoRAZR, cannot be called a "gray working mouse". However, the phone, despite the bold design, which is more characteristic of frivolous fashion models, is quite functional.

Specifications:

  • The type of the N76 case does not dare to call the trivial word "clamshell", although this is it. The phone is not designed for haste and fuss - it is best to open it with two hands. If you have a bluetooth headset, this is not necessary either, since dialing and voice control are provided.
  • There are as many as two displays. External, measuring 1.6 inches, is capable of displaying 262 thousand colors with a resolution of 128x160. For simple tasks - reading messages, controlling the control of some functions, etc., this is quite enough. The internal display is brighter and has much more possibilities - 2.4` size, 240x320 resolution and support for more than 16 million colors.
  • The phone's memory is not very large, only 26 megabytes. However, this can hardly be an obstacle to buying it. For those who want to fully use the player and other multimedia functions to the maximum, there is an expansion slot for microSD memory cards.
  • Nokia N76 can work in both traditional networks and next generation networks. Supported standards are GSM 850/900/1800/1900, as well as UMTS (WCDMA) - 3G.
Media:
  • Like almost all relatively expensive Nokia models, the N76 has all the basic set of media functions. This is primarily an MP3 player. In addition to MP3 itself, the most common music formats are supported - AAC, eAAC +, WMA. In addition, playback is possible and quite high-quality video - the player can play MPEG-4 files. The playback quality is in line with the excellent display properties of the N76.
  • In addition to playing multimedia files, you can also simply listen to the FM radio. It is very convenient that the player and radio control is available from external panel phone.
  • There is also a standard voice recorder with a traditional set of functions.
Camera:
  • In fact, there are two cameras. One, with a low resolution, is located on the inner panel of the phone and is almost useless for now - it is used for video communication in 3G networks.
  • The main camera is located on the outside back of the phone. This allows you to take pictures without opening the phone. For greater convenience, the buttons for controlling the digital ZOOM and calling the photo gallery are located on the side panels. The Nokia N76 camera uses a 2-megapixel CMOS sensor. The quality of the pictures corresponds to the priority tasks of the phone - although it is quite satisfactory, the N76 is, first of all, a "mobile phone", and only then a camera.
  • Video shooting is possible in resolutions up to 320x240, 15 frames / sec. The quality is sufficient for shooting simple amateur video clips (for more details on quality, see "camera").
  • For editing images, a special program is installed with a set of simple filters that usually no one ever uses.
Battery:

The capacity of the "native" Li-Ion battery of Nokia N76 is 700 mAh. According to manufacturers, a single charge lasts 2.7 hours of continuous talk or 8 hours of multimedia use or 200 hours of standby time. There are different responses from users about the real possibilities, but if you do not intend to replace a full-fledged iPod with your phone, the charge will last for a long time.

Equipment:

  • Actually the smartphone itself Nokia N76,
  • Battery BL-4B
  • 256 MB microSD memory card
  • Charger Nokia AC-4.
  • Stereo headset (wired) Nokia HS-43
  • User manual.
In general, the Nokia N76 smartphone-phone gives the impression of a device that should only be taken in clean hands. Firstly, to match its high level, and secondly, because fingerprints are very noticeable on the stylish glossy body.

Nokia could not resist and entered the race for "thin" solutions, the new model outwardly copies many elements of the classic Motorola RAZR, but, as you know, this is the most natural smartphone on Symbian, the S60 platform of the third edition FP1. In favor of the fact that the example of RAZR unwittingly stood in front of the designers' eyes, the presence of a metal keyboard, a notch on the bottom surface and other similar trifles speaks for itself.

By and large, the company achieved a small thickness of 13.7 mm not due to some innovations in the platform of this solution, but due to an increase in the height of the device. The full analogue of Nokia N76 is Nokia 6290, there is practically no difference between the devices. The 6290 measures 94x50x20.8 mm, while the N76 measures 106.5x52x13.7 mm. Slightly wider and almost a centimeter taller - that's the price to pay for the small thickness.

The folded size of the device is comfortable and makes a strong impression; after all, it is a modern smartphone with quite good characteristics. On the other hand, the very first attempt to open the device shows that everything is not so simple. The mechanism does not have automatic fine-tuning of the movement, the half freezes halfway. Further - more: the width of the case and its configuration are such that it is almost impossible to open the device with one hand, you always have to use the other hand.

Color solutions are aimed at a fashionable audience, this is the classic black color and red so popular among women.

Another gripe is the glossy surface of the case and the specularity of the front surface. The phone in your hands becomes stained within a minute, you have to constantly wipe it. Due to the mirrored insert, the external display is a bit dimmer than in Nokia 6290.

On the left side there is a slot for microSD memory cards, it is covered with a hinged cover. Everything looks convenient, but removing the card is not always comfortable, hands do not fit into the free space too much. There is a hole next to the card slot for charger- a very unusual location.

On the right side there is a camera key, as well as a gallery access button, it is similar to the older Nseries models. Right there is a coupled volume control key, in the shooting mode it serves for zooming.

A miniUSB connector is placed on the top end, it is covered with a rubber flap, there is also an on / off button for the device, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The set includes the HS-43 headphones; they differ from the HS-42 from the Nokia 5300 set only by the 3.5 mm jack, not 2.5 mm.

The lower end was occupied by a speaker that plays ringtones and operates in speakerphone mode.

The keyboard is made of metal, and, depending on the color of the case, the rubber inserts between the keys differ. In a red phone they are red, in black, respectively, black. In terms of ergonomics, the keyboard is average, there is no long travel of the buttons, but the keys are pleasant tactilely due to the stripes applied to them, the ribbed surface. Unlike Nokia 6290, this device retains the edit key (Pen). The keypad backlighting is blue, the symbols on the keys are clearly visible.

There are three function keys on the top of the device under the external display. The backlighting of the keys is either blue (for the black model) or red (respectively for the red model).

One often hears comments that the Nokia N76 is made of metal. This is far from the case, only the keyboard is metal, while most of the case is made of glossy plastic. You can access the battery only by opening the device and pulling the lower part, it is a kind of heel with a rubber insert on the back surface. The plastic is quite thick, which is unusual. The quality of the plastic is good, but it is extremely easily soiled, handprints are clearly visible on it.

The second disadvantage, in comparison with the Nokia 6290, is the struggle for small size, the “victim” here is the battery. The Nokia N76 uses a 700 mAh BL-4B battery. The manufacturer says that it will provide up to 200 hours of standby time and up to 2 hours 45 minutes of talk time. Curiously, the Nokia 6290 with a 950 mAh BL-5F battery has a standby time of about 240 hours. Taking into account that it is impossible to use the given battery life characteristics from the manufacturer, let's try to understand how much less the Nokia N76 will work. If you look at the difference in capacity head-on, it is 35 percent. Under normal conditions, the average load Nokia 6290 works for about 2 days. Taking into account the nonlinearity of changes in the battery charge, we can safely say that Nokia N76 is a product that will need to be charged every evening, of course, if you plan to use it.

In the music playback mode, the maximum time declared by the manufacturer is up to 8 hours, in reality, depending on your settings, volume, type of headphones, it will be about 4-5 hours.

Interestingly, this is the first model from Nokia in which the battery holder is turned upside down, it is always with its back to you.

The SIM card slot is located under the battery, it is extremely unusual, it is a yellow slide, into which the card is inserted. When open, you can see how thin the part in the area of the keyboard is, here you can see the metal chassis of the phone, it is the main part of the device made of this material.

The internal screen is similar to the one in Nokia N75, its diagonal is 2.4 inches, while in Nokia 6290 it is slightly smaller - 2.2 inches. In my opinion, the screen in Nokia N76 looks brighter, a little richer and more interesting. Its resolution is 240x320 pixels, it displays up to 16 million colors, and is well read in the sun.

Above the internal display is a speaker, a front-facing camera for third-generation video calls, and a light sensor.

The software does not differ from Nokia 6290, the only exception is the ability to rotate the screen to landscape orientation. There is no support for the A2DP profile at the moment.

Bluetooth. Bluetooth version in a smartphone - 2.0 with EDR support. The device supports the following profiles:

  • BIP-ImagePush;
  • DUN-GW;
  • FT-Server;
  • HandsFree-AG (1.0);
  • Headset-AG;
  • OBEX;
  • OPP-Client;
  • OPP-Server;
  • SIM Access-Server.

Unfortunately, there is no support for A2DP, that is, the transmission of stereo sound to the headset. Where did the information about that such a profile come from? We can only guess. Nokia Mobile Phones products on the S60 will support this profile later than Nseries smartphones.

The data transfer rate via Bluetooth is 100 Kb / s on average.

USB... The device uses a miniUSB-connector (there is no charging if the cable is connected), when connecting you can select the USB Mass Storage mode, PC Suite, as well as the modem mode. The USB version is 2.0. IN USB mode Mass Storage data transfer rate is about 800 Kb / s.

External Screen Interface - Cover UI

From the very first clamshell phones Nokia has tried to use the external screen to the maximum extent possible, to display everything that is possible on it. In Nokia N76, similar to Nokia 6290, the external screen size is 22x28 mm (1.36 ”), and the resolution is 128x160 pixels. A few years ago, many ordinary devices could boast of similar screens, this display is slightly smaller in physical size, but not in resolution. Thanks to this, it became possible to implement the so-called Cover User Interface, one of the strongest solutions from Nokia in the field of phones in recent times. The screen displays up to 262 thousand colors, is made using TFT technology, which allows the picture to remain distinguishable in sunlight. The screen accommodates up to 6 text lines and up to two service lines.

Let's see what makes the external screen so special for an ordinary user of Nokia N76 to call Cover UI a strong solution? In the standby mode on the screen you can see all the service indicators, time, as well as three icons that act as symbols for external keys (there are three of them, respectively). The right key is responsible for starting the radio, already in this mode, you can switch channels with the left and right keys. If you press the center key in standby mode, the player will start, it will start playing the last melody. With the left key, you can select lists of melodies presented by a standard breakdown by artist, genre, list of files, most frequently used, and so on. Moving through the list is carried out using the side volume rocker, everything is clear and simple.

However, the possibilities of the external screen do not end there. Holding the left soft key for a long time activates the reading of your messages, with the right key you can activate voice dialing (here you need a connected headset, since the microphone is inside, and you cannot call when closed).

Missed calls can be viewed without opening the device, a complete list will be displayed in front of you. Text messages can also be viewed on the external screen, which is nice. A message containing files cannot be opened here, the device will prompt you to open it. Describing everyday functions, we can say that in most cases the device can be left unopened, but can be used closed, which is sometimes extremely convenient.

During a call, a black-and-white picture of the phone is displayed on the external screen, others see it. How good or bad it is - I can’t judge, the fact is that it is impossible to talk secretly on this device (or pretend that you are calling).

In the settings, you can adjust the brightness of the external screen, set your animation or picture as wallpaper or screen saver. It is curious that when you install a picture, it is automatically offered to crop it to fit the screen, you can do this very easily. In standby mode, the screen turns off and the power saving mode starts. In the settings, you can leave the digital clock as a screensaver, then it will always be on the screen.

Despite the seeming simplicity of the described functions, none of the manufacturers have implemented them today, but Nokia did. This is a very nice feature of her 2007 products.

The music player is better implemented than in Nokia 6290. The N76's player settings are more flexible, it is possible to apply various effects during music playback (visualization), and support for Album Arts is implemented (displaying album art during playback).

Camera... The handset is equipped with a 2-megapixel CMOS camera from Toshiba, which is the same as in most S60 models. The quality of the camera is average, in conditions poor lighting it works with noticeable noise, the presence of an LED flash does not save the day.

Unlike Nokia 6290, the horizontal mode of shooting is supported when the device is closed, which is a plus for the presence of a camera on the back of the device.

In the settings, you can select the image resolution - 1600x1200, 1152x764, 640x480 and 320x240 pixels. The picture quality can be one of three - High, Normal, Basic. Shooting option - normal, series of shots, timer (10, 20 or 30 seconds). There is a night mode, the ability to adjust the white balance - Sunny, Incandescent, Fluorescent. Color settings are standard, these are some kind of effects - Sepia, Black & White, Negative. The flash in the device is LED. During shooting, moving the navigation key activates the zoom, it is digital. It makes no sense to use a zoom, since in the built-in editor you can enlarge a regular picture and in the playback mode, and its quality will be higher.

The phone records video with rather mediocre quality, the resolution is 320x240, 176x144 and 128x96 pixels, the frame rate is 15 per second. Recording format - 3GP; you can turn off the sound, there are no restrictions on the duration as such, if you do not set the mode for MMS.

Impression

With the exception of the battery and the absence of stereo speakers, the Nokia 6290 and Nokia N76 are twin brothers. The device has a smaller memory capacity, it is only about 20 MB, but a card is always available. I will make a reservation that the design of the older solution is different, and this is understandable. Nokia Model N76 is positioned as a fashionable solution. This is supported by bright colors - red and black. The model looks stylish and will appeal to many buyers, apparently, this is what the stake is made on, in particular, it is assumed that the design will attract those who, for some reason, did not fit the Nokia 6290.

The clear disadvantages include the ergonomics of the solution, this is the most uncomfortable clamshell of all that have passed through my hands in recent years, it is a real torment to open it. I do not like the soiled case, the short battery life. It turned out that this decision is designed for a fashionable audience, but then the question arises: how much does she need the S60 platform? The logical answer is that she does not need her, but she will be received as an appendage to the design, even often without knowing about her. This can play a cruel joke, as the glamorous customers of this device may not appreciate all the wealth of choice.

On the one hand, Nokia N76 has good musical capabilities (it has a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, a more advanced player than in Nokia 6290), and the developer also tried to emphasize the musical component of the device by marking the function keys under the external display for controlling the player. But on the other hand, to call the model musical, it does not turn out to be a language because of the very short time autonomous work while listening to the player (4-5 hours in the player mode is very little).

The model will hit the market in March with a two-week or three-week gap after the Nokia 6290. The device costs 390 Euros excluding taxes, the difference in the delivery set is minimal and is described by the presence of a DKE-2 USB cable. The only calculation in the company is for different design models, because, in fact, there are no other differences. In one case, however, the buttons on the front surface are supposedly musical, in the other they are the same, but without a pattern on them. In short, the models are identical, and what the user should choose is still a big question.

P.S. Everything about the solution's hardware platform, a number of software features is described in the Nokia 6290 review, I recommend reading it.

At the suggestion of Motorola and Samsung, slim, feminine phones are popular all over the world. This spring Nokia finally announced two ultra-thin devices: the 6500classic candy bar and the 6500slide slider. And what about thin clamshells, you ask. The answer is simple - Nokia N76 is already on sale and is being tested in our online edition.

One gets the feeling that the idea of the Motorola RAZR will never die. Nokia N76 is the reincarnation of the world's bestseller in the concept of Symbian OS smartphones [Nokia itself prefers to call N-series devices “multimedia computers”]. The full analogue of the Nokia N76 is the Nokia 6290, which has already been tested in our editorial office; in terms of technology, the devices are similar, like two drops of water.

Pavel Chudinov, head of the regional office of Nokia Corporation in the Urals:

The Nokia N76 is designed for those who value stylish yet highly functional devices. Nokia N76 is not just a beautiful phone, as Nseries devices are sometimes called out of habit. It is a full-fledged multimedia computer that is a pleasure to use every day. In addition, it provides the user with ample opportunities for photo and video shooting, access to the Internet and an audio library at any time and anywhere. Special mention should be made of the musical possibilities of Nokia N76. With the Quick Cover keys, you can quickly and easily control the music functions of your device without opening it, and get instant access to your favorite tunes.

The thinness, striking and stylish design, correct positioning and proven software environment could make the N76 one of the most successful phones out there. All this would be a reality, if not for numerous design flaws and short operating time.

Dimensions. Contents of delivery

id = "sub0">

The dimensions of Nokia N76 are 106.5x52x13.7 mm and weighs 115 grams. The phone looks slim enough. It is impossible to say that the tested model is miniature. But wearing it in trousers or in a shirt pocket is very convenient. The delivery set includes:

  • Battery BL-4B
  • Charger AC-4E
  • Stereo Headset HS-43 [mini Jack 3.5mm]
  • USB interface cable
  • CD with software
  • Instructions
  • Quick Start Guide

Design, construction

id = "sub1">

Everything visible surfaces of the phone are made of painted glossy plastic, the exception is the keyboard, which is a metal sheet with rubber borders. In the sun, N76 begins to play with light, attracting the attention of people around. In contrast to this, it is important to note that the body of the device is very easily soiled, it attracts dust and dirt.

Nokia N76 is available in two colors: black and red[the colors are popular in the fashion world and among women]. On testing in the editorial office of our edition there was a black device.

When closed, an external color display can be seen on the front surface of the device; it is built into the mirror area [there is a blue indicator above the display, which periodically blinks]. This area gives the N76 a woman's phone, there is no need to take a mirror out of your purse, Nokia has already provided for everything. Below the display there are three buttons that, by default, allow you to control the music player and radio. A little lower on the silver insert flaunts the Nokia label.

The first attempt to open the phone with one hand fails. The fact is that Nokia N76 does not have an automatic motion refinement mechanism... Therefore, the half freezes halfway, you have to help with the other hand. Even after a month of use, I couldn't get used to opening the device with one hand.

When opened, a large high-quality display is taken into account, above which there is a speaker for voice calls, a front camera for video telephony. In the upper right corner, you can see a special light-sensitive sensor that adjusts the backlight level of the keyboard. If the light is not turned on in a room or on the street [and this leads to saving battery power], if the room is not lit, then the keyboard is backlit.

On the bottom panel of the clamshell there is an alphanumeric keyboard and a block of function keys. It is very convenient to work with the metal keyboard both functionally and tactilely. Large buttons allow you to type numbers or text almost blindly, all clicks are processed correctly. And the blue-green backlight allows you to work in the dark without any problems, all the symbols are visible and distinguishable. Of the design features, it is worth noting the traces of the keyboard [the relief of the buttons is imprinted on the screen] on the internal display, it looks very sloppy.

On the right side of the Nokia N76 are the volume keys, quick access buttons to the "Gallery" and activation of the camera.

On the left side is slot for microSD memory cards, it is covered with a hinged plastic cover... Hot swapping of cards is supported. Nearly there is a hole for a charger.

The lower side is equipped with an external speaker that plays polyphony, mp3 and other audio files.

On the top end of the mobile phone you can see the on / off button of the device, an interface connector for a miniUSB-cable and a hole for a miniJack 3.5 mm headset.

I never would have thought that in modern models of the Finnish manufacturer one can meet with the "Soviet disease" in the form of limited functionality due to the specifics of the design. If you connect a headset to the N76, you won't be able to open the clamshell completely. The upper half rests against the headset plug. In this case, you have to choose either a phone or a headset. Well, didn't Nokia designers think that working with a half-open phone is inconvenient?

On the back of the tested device there is a 2 Mpix camera, LED flash, and a shiny insert with the manufacturer's logo. Removing the battery compartment is easy. A lithium-ion battery is located underneath. The SIM-card holder is unusual, it is a yellow slide that can be completely removed and inserted into the inside of the phone.

Except for the peculiarity of the joint work of the model with a connected headset no flaws were found during the test. The build quality of the Nokia N76 is high. The tested sample was manufactured in Finland.

At the time of writing the review, information about mass defects[or even a factory defect] in the Nokia N76. The essence of the complaints was that after a fairly short time, the paint from the plastic parts of the phone cases began to wear off, thus, the gray base of the plastic became visible. Irreparable damage has been done to the appearance of the devices. For comments on this issue, our publication turned to representatives of Nokia.

We are aware of an issue with some design elements on the Nokia N76. Repair of Nokia N76 with a similar defect is carried out in all branded service centers as part of the warranty service. Nokia is seriously concerned about the quality of its products, and every effort is being made to remedy the situation around the Nokia N76, - reassures Victoria Eremina, Nokia PR manager in the CIS. All service centers have a sufficient supply of parts, the repair time for the devices will be minimal. It is also worth noting that the problem was noticed quite quickly, the reason was found in the poor-quality composition of the paint, the issue with the manufacturer was resolved and a new composition of paint was put into production, so at the moment the problem has been resolved. The problem with the panels was only in the first batches of the N76. Quality panels have been supplied for a long time and are available for everyone service center, where you can contact if your phone was from the first "unsuccessful batch".

What do Russian retailers say about this?

We have heard about the coating defect, but have not yet felt the mass effect, - answers the question Tatiana Moskaleva, PR director of the Tsifrograd management company.

The rest of the companies decided to refrain from commenting.

Graphic capabilities

id = "sub2">

The tested model boasts a 2.4-inch QVGA-display with a resolution of 320x240 pixels, displaying 16.7 million colors. At the same time, the physical screen resolution is 32x45 mm. Nokia N76 display looks impressive, it is similar to that in Nokia 5700 and Nokia 6290. Colors are vivid and clear, there are no defects in color transitions. The eye does not sense pixel boundaries. The screen fades in the sun: information can be read from almost a certain viewing angle. As with the 5700 and 6290, the manufacturer decided to torture users, especially if they have vision problems. The letters of the icon labels merge with each other [pay attention to the letter "a", it always merges]. The rest of the fonts are also not impressive in their legibility. And here is the size of the icons bluetooth enabled, incoming mail, GPRS and some others in standby mode is no good. They can only be seen under a magnifying glass. This is a problem with the existing platform!

The external display is much worse in terms of parameters. Despite beautiful numbers in specifications: TFT-matrix with a resolution of 128x160 with a diagonal of 1.36 inches, the external screen fades noticeably in the sun, the information is almost impossible to read. The only thing, the phone provides navigation through menus and functions when closed, which is very useful and convenient... For this, three function keys and volume buttons are used.

Interface and navigation. Functionality

id = "sub3">

Software Nokia 6290 is based on S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1. We tested a phone with software version v 10.0.035 06-04-2007 RM-135.

In standby mode, the user sees a desktop with a quick access bar to six menu items. All these items can be configured in the appropriate section. In the upper part on the left and on the right, there are indicators of network operation and battery charge. In the middle there are hours, date and operator's name. At the bottom there are inscriptions of one action or another, for which the function keys are responsible.

The menu of the tested phone is represented by twelve items. In this case, the user has the right to choose one of four options for the presentation of the main menu: icons [matrix view], list [ordinary horizontal], horseshoe [animated icons of three menu items are displayed one by one], V-shaped [seven menu items are displayed on the display, arranged in the form of a "V"]. For example, the first type seemed to me the most ergonomic option: it is possible to quickly access any item of the main menu.

IN "Contacts" kept detailed information about telephone numbers and subscribers. You yourself can choose one or another option for the presentation of data, there are also plenty of settings. You can also create an unlimited number of user groups.

In point "Messages" contains all options and options for working with mail, SMS, MMS, etc. This item also contains an e-mail client. The settings are clear and accessible.

The third position is "The calendar"... The name of the item speaks for itself.

The next item is "Music player"... It houses a fully functional music player. You can view and listen to mp3-compositions. There is a sorting by artist, album, genre, composer. Important observation: when uploading to a phone or memory card, changes in the player will be displayed only after the library is updated.

"Gallery"- a kind of thematic browser of phone memory and microSD cards... All files are divided into folders: photos, videos, pictures, music, games, applications, etc.

"LifeBlog"- a kind of mobile diary. This item displays important events, photographs, audio recordings and notes by day. If you collect all this information into one, you get a personal diary of the owner of the Nokia N76.

Paragraph "Search" responsible for detecting and searching for information on the Internet. Web surfing can be done through the services "Yandex" and "Yahoo!".

The next item of the main menu hides the built-in Internet browser... It has full support for WAP resources and many new features. You can call a panel with frequently used functions: a list of links to visited resources, map display, page reload and search. The presence of a built-in browser is lost, given that the user can easily install Opera Mini, or full version popular internet browser.

In point "Download" there is a directory of links with the ability to download mobile content to the phone.

IN "Means" each user can personalize the mobile phone interface. This menu item contains almost all configuration actions. This subsection includes all options related to bluetooth, GPRS, UMTS packet data transmission, as well as data synchronization. In addition, settings for graphic themes, call melodies, display design, installed applications and many others. In the same item there is a "File Manager".

Penultimate paragraph "Applications" contains the "Journal" folder with games [by default indefatigable Snakes], "Clock", sub-items responsible for entertainment functions: camera, director, video, voice recorder, radio, RealPlayer, Flash-player, programs for determining the location and work with GPS.

IN "Data log", information about calls, events, GPRS sessions and even location is flocked [it was not possible to test this sub-item]. There are three lists in the journal - received, missed, and made calls. Already in the list itself, the detail is displayed: the date of the call and its time. Each list can contain an unlimited number of entries. The limit is set in the settings; by default, data for 30 days is logged.

"Clock"- a sub-item of the menu, designed as a special application that combines not only an ordinary clock, but also an alarm clock, a time zone converter, etc.

Radio works only when a headset is connected, it also serves as an antenna [you can use the remote control as an antenna remote control]. The application interface is quite simple, manual and automatic search radio stations. There is RDS support. The radio can be set as an alarm, but don't forget to plug in a headset. There is no possibility of recording radio broadcasts. There is support for proprietary technology Visual Radio. The sound in the headset is clear enough without distortion. The radio can run in the background.

Nokia N76 has camera in 2 Mpix with 4x digital zoom. The following picture resolutions are supported: 1600x1200; 1280x960; 800x600; 640x480; 320x240; 160x120. Volume buttons are responsible for zooming in / out of the image. On the whole, the quality of the images obtained from the N76 camera has decent indicators, closer to good, but no more. In many cases, it allows you to achieve a stable image. On the street you can get good pictures [see the photo report for the article], but in a shady room the resulting photos leave much to be desired. The device allows you to record video in H.263 and MPEG-4 formats. The maximum video resolution is 320x240 pixels at 15 frames per second. The image can be called bearable, but no more.

The last point is "Office". It has the most necessary functions for any person, such as notes, a calculator, a unit converter, all kinds of reminders, a timer, a stopwatch with the recording of intermediate parameters, a voice recorder and Adobe PDF.

"Dictaphone" records voice files mediocre. It all depends on the distance to the sound source. The microphone sensitivity is low, so at least some quality can be expected only when the sound source is very close to the phone.

Memory and speed

id = "sub4">

For storing files and other data in the internal memory of Nokia N76, 38 MB are reserved [28 MB are available to the user]. Do not forget that the phone supports microSD cards [a 256 MB card is included] up to 2 GB. Judging by how quickly the skins are applied and the Java applications loaded, the model has a good performance.

Communication capabilities

id = "sub5">

The main communication means in Nokia N76 are interface cable and Bluetooth, USB-connection is supported in three modes: "Multimedia playback", "PC Suite", "Data transfer". The first mode allows you to exchange files and data, the second is used to synchronize data with a PC. The third means that only the memory card will be displayed on the computer as a separate disk... In the "Data transfer" section, you can configure the synchronization settings for your device.

The model supports packet data transmission using GPRS and EDGE class 10 technologies, while there is support for third generation networks.

Duration of work

id = "sub6">

Nokia N76 has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of only 700 mAh. According to the manufacturer itself, the talk time of the device is up to 2.75 hours; standby time up to 8.5 days. In testing conditions [Chelyabinsk, center, Beeline network] with the number of calls 25 - 30 minutes per day, constantly turned on Bluetooth for receiving and transmitting data and listening to mp3 the device worked for a little less than one day [≈ 23 hours]... With less active use of the phone, you can count on a maximum of two days of work. The battery is charged in an hour and a half.

Outcomes

id = "sub8">

First of all, a fashion accessory. But beauty is impermanent, it crumbles under the onslaught of a large number of shortcomings, such as a weak battery, a soiled case, lack of comfort when connecting a headset, and so on. In addition, there is a possibility, albeit a small one, of the appearance of defects in the color of the body of the device. In this case, you will have to visit the service center.

The sales rating of the model is very high for such an expensive model, and it continues to rise. Potential consumers are a fairly wide range of users with good incomes. On the one hand, these are fashionistas, since the phone is a fashion series, on the other hand, they are pragmatists, since it is still a smartphone. In general, consumers are people who want to have a prestigious, stylish phone with very good capabilities. I would like to emphasize that of all stylish phones on the market today, the N76 is the most functional smartphone, - notes Tatiana Moskaleva.

If we weigh all the pros and cons, we can conclude that buying Nokia N76 looks very risky[especially when you look at the cost of the phone]. The purchase of Nokia E65 or Nokia 6290 seems to be much more attractive.

Now Nokia N76 is on sale at an average price 18490 rubles.

Testing apparatus provided by the company Nokia.

Nokia has long and stubbornly ignored the market for thin solutions, despite their obvious popularity and demand. Product line success Motorola, united by the common name RAZR, was huge, this caused the appearance of clones in terms of design not only from all kinds of second-tier manufacturers, but also from large companies. Samsung went the same way, in a short time showing a huge number of thin solutions, setting a number of records and thereby becoming a trendsetter in the segment of thin phones, the release of Ultra series models brought the manufacturer a good profit and allowed to increase the market share. Nokia, for unknown reasons, was in no hurry to get involved in the race of millimeters, and showed its first slim phone (13 mm, candy bar) only in December this year, two whole years after the release of the RAZR model. It was possible to achieve this by increasing the height and width of the device, but in the case of the 6300 model this did not happen, because its thickness is far from being a record one. After the presentation of the first such device, the company took a course to increase the number of thin devices, translating this parameter into various segments and form factors. So, on January 8, 2007, the Nokia N76 was announced, a clamshell smartphone with a thickness of only 13.7 mm. Some time later, the thin slider E65 was shown, it has already gone on sale and offers excellent functionality in the segment of thin devices, soon other thin solutions of the company, including those in the premium segment, will be presented on the market.

It should be said that up to the present moment thin solutions did not possess high functionality, they belonged only to the number of fashionable, stylish devices, the functionality faded into the background. Today we will talk about a device that successfully combines both the latest technologies and catchy appearance and small dimensions.

Nokia N76 :: Review :: Design and features

The first thing that caught my eye was the striking similarity of the design of the Nokia N76 with the Motorola RAZR V3, practically the same dimensions (slightly higher model height), the same thickness, the same sharp edges of the halves, the same protrusion in the lower part of the case, and without the Nokia logo, the device is perceived as another product from Motorola. On the one hand, such a comparison is only good for him, because in the minds of many the concept of a thin stylish phone is associated with RAZR, but on the other hand, the model is devoid of individuality and originality. You immediately understand that this has already happened, and the novelty is just a copy of the successful design of a competitor. Judge for yourself, we suggest you find ten differences from the following comparative photos, so to speak. From a marketing point of view, everything is fine, such a design solution is still extremely popular and in demand in the market.

Many will immediately object that the RAZR from Motorola cannot be compared with a Nokia product, because there is a huge gap in terms of the functional equipment of the devices. Of course, this is so, but this does not excuse the secondary design of the device. In any case, the appearance of such a device will change the market of stylish phones, to what extent - time will tell, but there is no doubt that the bar has been raised. What's funny is that a new level of implementation and content is presented for the first time by a different company that is not the leader of the idea, this is a plus for the engineers and designers of Nokia.

So, let's start describing the design elements. The dimensions of the device are 106.5x52x13.7 mm, the height is somewhat beyond the generally accepted limits, but the difference is not critical, it is due to its increase that such a thickness of the model is achieved. The width is standard for this class of devices, it is not satisfactory.
The photos show the progress that has taken place over the past two years in terms of smartphone size. Words are superfluous.

The device lies perfectly in the hand, it is convenient to use it, the disadvantage is the too protruding block, in which the clamshell hinge is located, during a conversation it rests on the cheek, which causes some discomfort. The next controversial point is the opening mechanism: firstly, the halves fit very tightly to each other, there is no groove for the nail, all this leads to the fact that it is very difficult to open the phone with one hand. Further, due to the new implementation of the hinge, there is no auto-finishing, that is, we are accustomed to the fact that when opening to a certain angle, the mechanism completes the movement, but here this is not the case, you need to open and close the device completely independently. To prevent statements about inconveniences, let's say that this fact does not create discomfort, the movement is smooth, easy, you quickly get used to it. There is an external screen on the front surface of the model, and although it is large enough - 1.36 inches, its dimensions are not perceived as such, this is due to the large height and width of the device, it looks disproportionate. In the inactive state, the display is not visible, it is hidden behind a mirror insert, a similar solution was used in Nokia 7280, 7380. Thanks to the same mirror insert, the screen brightness is low, readability is at the same level - this is due to the soiled coating (the mirror surface gets very dirty, fortunately, traces are visible only on it, the plastic, although glossy, does not suffer from such a problem), its reflectivity. The screen resolution is 128x160 pixels, which is a good level, one of the best external screens today. We will tell you more about the high functionality of the screen below.

There are three keys under the screen, which are responsible for control in the closed state. We could see such a solution in the devices of the manufacturer for the first time in the 7390 model, but there these buttons were implemented a little differently: the two outer ones were responsible for scrolling through the list of functions, and the central one for selection / confirmation. Here, each received its own, higher functionality. The keys are marked with rewind and play / pause, which obviously hints at their musical purpose. The designations are highlighted in blue in the black version of the color and in red, respectively, in red, quite brightly. There is a small LED above the screen that can blink blue in standby mode.

The buttons are large enough, their travel is soft, clear, they seem to be inscribed in a chrome insert under the screen. This insert marks the edge of the top cover that is not visible when closed. The insert smoothly goes into the edging on the sides of the device and the insert on the back of the device, it all looks good and diversifies appearance models. There are two colors available - black and red, both are successful. The emphasis on the image component of the product is obvious, its positioning also on the female audience, as evidenced by the use of bright colors. The body of the device is made of high-quality glossy plastic, the elements fit tightly to each other, nothing creaks, the assembly deserves praise. The gap between the halves of the case is minimal, and, as already mentioned, it is problematic to open the device with one hand.

On the back of the N76 we can see the peephole of the built-in camera with a flash, there is no mirror for self-portraits here. On the cover of the battery compartment, there is a small insert made of matte material, perhaps it is designed to prevent the gloss of plastic from touching the surface and, thus, to avoid scratches. The cover itself can be removed quite easily, you just need to slide it down, the design resembles a pencil case. Under it we find a battery, well known to us from some other models of the manufacturer, BL-4C, 700 mAh, which has far from the best energy capacity. We were surprised by the open contact groups, this has not been seen before in the devices of the Finnish manufacturer, although in some devices of other companies this could be found more than once. Perhaps the reason for this is the thickness of the model, but this fact does not cause any inconvenience, it also cannot serve as an aesthetic disadvantage, because you will hardly often see a phone with the battery cover removed. The SIM card slot is not under the battery, but there is no hot swap of the SIM card, the card is inserted from the side. There is no holder as such, in order to pull out the card, you need to push it out from the outside of the device.

The sides of Nokia N76 are not overloaded with control elements, on the right side there are a camera activation button and a shortcut to the gallery, and a coupled volume rocker is immediately revealed. The side volume keys are chrome-plated, they are rather small, and due to their small thickness it is not always comfortable to use them, but there are no problems with the other two keys. On the left side of the device there is a slot for a memory card; they are hot swappable. The cover of the memory card slot is made of metal, and it would be more correct to call it a "latch" - it slides out of the case, and after some time it begins to noticeably loose, dangle, this is a minus for a fashion device. The actual memory cards supported by the device are the standard for Nokia microSD; currently, you can find 2 GB memory cards on sale. On the same side there is a thin charger connector, it is surrounded by a chrome border and is not visible at first glance.

The bottom end of the device is of no interest at all, here you can see only a hole for attaching a cord and a polyphonic speaker. Due to this arrangement, the speaker is often blocked, both by hand, and if the phone is in a trouser pocket, the call can be missed.

The top end is much more interesting. Thanks to its thickness, it houses a standard 3.5mm headset jack, which allows you to directly use third-party headphones without the need to plug in adapters. Nearby there is a miniUSB connector closed with a plastic flap for connecting a cable, which is the standard for Nokia today. The next element of the upper end of the device is the button for switching off / changing profiles, it is rather large, but at the same time it is sunk into the body, so there should be no accidental clicks. I would like to dwell on the layout of the elements in more detail - in the open state you will not be able to press the power button, as well as calmly using a third-party headset - this will be hindered by the top cover of the model. There will be no problems with the cable, but the headset will have to be selected with a small plug, or you will have to use the standard one, since it alone is not bad. In any case, when the headset is connected, the opening angle of the device is approximately 135 degrees. The angle is quite comfortable, that is, you don’t have to hold the phone in any other way to see all the information on the screen, since the viewing angles are great, but this feature is curious in itself, it cannot be called a plus, as well as a minus.

So, we open the device. At once the attention is concentrated on the keyboard of the model, it is designed in the style of the RAZR we have already mentioned. The design is extremely similar, as well as the sensations when working with it.

The keys are flat, made of metal, they are not smooth, but slightly textured, this does not allow your finger to slide off, you can feel the relief of the keys, plus everything else it looks stylish.

The key travel is small, but due to the size it is convenient to use them. The buttons are separated by blue and red grooves, respectively, in both colors of the model. The backlighting of the keyboard is blue, it is very bright, clear, uniform, but the color does not fit well here, a white backlight would have looked better. The keyboard is completely surrounded by a chrome insert, it looks stylish, but fingerprints are quite visible on it, and you have to wipe it frequently.

The screen in the device is large, 2.4 inches, or 36x48 mm, it is capable of displaying up to 16 million colors and shades. Surprisingly, unlike some of the company's latest devices, it is equipped with a protective glass. Now it becomes completely incomprehensible to abandon it in other, not thin models, because one of the versions of its absence was the desire to reduce the thickness. But that's not what we're talking about now. Don't know if subtlety is to blame protective glass, but the colors on the screen are displayed perfectly, the brightness and image clarity are at a very high level, this is without exaggeration one of the best screens on the market. The difference from the 7390 is very large, although the screen of the latter is also very good. There is a peephole above the screen front camera for video calls, still useless in our country, a light sensor and a hole for the earpiece. The screen does not behave in the sun the best way- the absence of a mirror substrate affects. The picture fades, it is often difficult to make out the information. This is one of the first Nokia smartphones to have a screen that is not readable in the sun. The external screen, in contrast to the internal one, is perfectly readable in the sun.

As a result, I would like to say that the design of the model is consistent, it is very good. There were some drawbacks - not too beautiful keyboard backlighting, excessively protruding hinge, soiled mirror insert - but this is more than compensated by high-quality case materials, excellent build quality, one of the best screens. This particular device, in the understanding of many, will become a real continuation of the traditions of Nokia 7610.

Nokia N76 :: Review :: External Screen

Unlike almost all previous models, the functionality of Nokia N76 is maximal when closed - you can view sms messages, control a music player, camera, etc. on the external screen.

In standby mode, the screen displays three icons corresponding to the three control buttons, they cannot be changed. Initially, all three icons are associated with music - this is the launch of the radio, the player, and the call to the list of songs.

During playback, you can select the options for repeating songs and playing them in a split, it is possible to display a graphic equalizer. There are also all the options for sorting songs known to us from smartphones and phones of the manufacturer.

What made me especially happy was the ability to read text messages on the external screen. The font is not too sleek, but quite readable. Such a possibility is not provided in clamshells built on the Series40 platform. Obviously, it will appear in the future, but at the moment Nokia N76 and 6290 are the only clamshell phones on the European market with such functionality. We can argue for a long time about its uniqueness, but note that almost all this was possible in the N90 model, with the only difference that instead of three keys under the screen, control was carried out by a five-position side joystick, and the screen had even larger physical dimensions and better quality ( subjectively). On the other hand, such possibilities are realized for the first time in middle class clamshells.

During a conversation, a receiver is displayed on the screen, there are no differences from the N90 either. There is an animated screensaver - two intersecting black lines on a white background, which seem to diverge in different directions, opening the image on the screen when the phone is closed. The digital clock is large enough to be seen well.

Also, the screen displays missed calls, connection mode, notifications of received messages.

In the camera mode, all options are available on the external screen, just like in the open state, a pop-up menu with icons appears, changes are made using the left key, moving between items - using the volume buttons.

As a result, you will notice that such functionality is appropriate in a smartphone, it is convenient. As a small addition, in future models, I would like to see even more advanced functionality, for example, a full-fledged menu, the ability to talk in a closed state through an additional speaker. The latter is implemented in communicators of the 9xxx series, but such a feature would be highly demanded in standard clamshells.

Nokia N76 :: Review :: S60v3 FP1 platform software, user interface

Nokia N76 is based on the third edition of Feature Pack 1 S60 platform, this is the latest edition of the platform. Differences with previous versions rather insignificant, they are mainly described by OS-level support for the Bluetooth profile A2DP, an updated version of the Nokia Web Browser, and support for Freescale processors. The latter is one of the key points, a smooth transition to the use of processors other than TI OMAP is planned, and the expansion of the product portfolio.

Nokia N95 is also based on Feature Pack 1, but the software implementation of many things does not coincide, which once again indicates their optionality, depending on the purpose and positioning of the model. The N95 is a multimedia computer in the company's understanding, so the emphasis on multimedia capabilities is very strong. Thus, when you press the Multimedia Key in Nokia N95, a 3D animated menu appears, a number of nice features such as a menu background, which can be a set of photos to which effects are applied. The menu itself is animated. Nokia N76, on the other hand, has implementation at the level of other models of the company, there are no such innovations here. The menu can be presented in four views, the two new 3D-views Horseshoe and V-shaped are not very convenient, but they look interesting. There is no menu animation, but a nice feature is the following: in the upper right corner of each item, regardless of whether the icon is responsible for launching one application or is a folder, a semicircular icon is displayed if the application is currently running and running in the background.

It makes no sense to dwell on the description of the platform's standard functionality, the messaging service, phone book, organizer have not undergone any changes, the implementation coincides with other Nokia smartphones. The phone has 6 preinstalled themes, each one interesting in its own way. The red theme fits perfectly with a smartphone of the corresponding color, it looks organic. It is possible to set a screen saver.

Nokia N76 :: Review :: Performance

From the performance point of view, there is a rather big difference with many other smartphones of the company, the standard processor frequency was 220 MHz, the TI OMAP 1710 chipset was used. Here we observe a big performance gain, which cannot be explained by anything other than the new hardware platform. Without going into technical details, let's say that the speed of the smartphone is very close to the speed of work regular phones, it is at a very high level. There is no difference in the speed of many operations at all, this is a huge plus of the model. In terms of hardware, Nokia N76 apparently coincides with Nokia 6290, this fact is indicated by comparable performance, specifications... Until that moment, the most productive smartphone of the Finnish manufacturer was Nokia N93, built on the basis of the TI OMAP 2420 chipset with a frequency of 330 MHz, but there is no real difference in operating speed with the new N76 and 6290 models.

Nokia N76 :: Review :: Multimedia: mp3 player, radio

The player's user interface has been redesigned and differs from previous devices. This organization of the player can be seen in all new devices built on the S60v3 Feature Pack 1 platform (for example, Nokia N95, 6290). The control is quite convenient, in the open state, for rewinding / playing / pause, pressing the navigation key is used, in the closed one - the buttons under the screen. The artist / song is displayed in standby mode both on the external screen and on the internal one. The player, like the radio, is started by the control buttons on the top cover of the phone, the playback of the last played song does not start immediately, this is logical. During playback, an external screen displays all the data of the song, graphic equalizer, total playing time / playing time, time, battery power, and signatures for the function buttons. The gallery shortcut here calls music menu, it is possible to manage any available options without opening the phone, it is extremely convenient.

From the player's settings, we note five preset 5-band equalizer settings with the ability to create an unlimited number of custom equalizer settings. Balance adjustment, extended stereo sound, loudness mode. Various options are available, such as: division by artist, album, genre, etc., repeat songs and play in split. The sound quality does not reach the level of Nokia N91, although it is as close to it as possible, it coincides with Nokia N95. The presence of a 3.5 mm jack on the case only confirms the positioning of the model as a music solution, however, in MP3 listening mode the device will not show a long operating time, the battery capacity is too small, the continuous playback time is 8-9 hours.

As mentioned, the phone can be used with any 3.5mm headphone. In this case, the headphones can be connected both to the phone and to the remote control that comes with the kit. As in Nokia N95, it uses a new kind of remote control, subjectively, the N91 remote control is more convenient, although it offers exactly the same functionality. When you connect headphones to the phone, the device prompts you to choose on your own what exactly you connected (there is no auto-recognition function): a headset or headphones. It is not entirely clear why in the settings there is no way to make the choice of the default accessory, every time choosing the type of connected device is not the most interesting activity in life.

Now you can visualize when playing music, it looks nice, when you use the function, the phone's backlight does not turn off, so using in this mode reduces the time of using the device. On the external screen of the device, visualization is displayed in a simpler form, you cannot change the view. The disadvantages of the player's implementation include the lack of support for Russian tags, however, we tested the device with European firmware, perhaps this situation will change in Russified devices.

Nothing special can be said about the radio, memory for 50 radio stations, unlike 20 in previous devices, support for visual service (not supported in Russia). To work, you need to connect a headset, which acts as an antenna. The radio's sensitivity is good, the sound in the headset is also good.

As a result, I would like to say that Nokia N76 is a very good music solution, the pluses include good sound quality when connecting third-party headphones, very high playback volume, a standard 3.5 mm jack on the device body, extremely convenient control when closed thanks to fully functional external screen.

Nokia N76 :: Review :: Camera

The camera is very similar in its characteristics to the one used in the N70, N71, 6290 and other models of the company, that is, 2 megapixels, flash, lack of macro mode and autofocus. The quality of photo and video is at the level of the already mentioned models, there are no prerequisites for improving or deteriorating these parameters. Thus, we have a poor quality of the camera's implementation, for a thin product the characteristics are standard, but not maximum. For example, the same Samsung D900 with a comparable thickness has a three-megapixel module with automatic focusing.

There are two cameras in the phone, as befits a 3G phone, but there is no point in talking about an auxiliary camera for video calls. In our country, for now, it can only be used as a kind of mirror and for shooting self-portraits, switching between cameras is possible through options. The camera's user interface is entirely in landscape orientation. On the right is the settings menu, which includes:

  • switch to video mode

  • shooting mode selection (auto, custom, portrait, night, landscape, night portrait)

  • flash control

  • timer (2, 10, 20 seconds)

  • burst mode

  • exposure compensation setting (-2.0 to 2.0)

  • white balance adjustment

  • effects (color tone)
  • In most cases, enough automatic settings cameras. However, there are situations when activation of the corresponding mode is necessary. Other settings include the ability to turn off the shutter sound, select a folder for saving photos and videos, standard name, photo and video quality. Movies are recorded at a maximum resolution of 240x320 (QVGA) at 15 frames per second.

    In general, the camera control is very convenient, the interface is well thought out, on the whole, the control resembles that of Nokia N95 as much as possible, although when the internal screen is the viewfinder, you cannot switch to portrait orientation, there is no such option.

    The quick access button to the gallery in the camera mode is responsible for switching between photo and video shooting modes, the volume keys for the digital zoom.

    Conveniently, in the closed mode, all options are available on the external screen, a pop-up menu with icons appears in the same way, changes are made using the left key, and moving between items is done using the volume buttons.

    Photos look very good on the device's screen, primarily due to the large, high-quality bright screen, but on the computer screen the photos look rather bad. Naturally, the quality directly depends on the shooting conditions, the pictures taken in daytime conditions are of quite acceptable quality.

    Nokia N76 :: Review :: Impressions, conclusions

    Nokia N76 undoubtedly deserves very close attention. As already mentioned, the device resembles the Motorola RAZR V3 in many ways, including the usability, the differences are minimal. Those who are accustomed to using thin Motorola clamshells, but were not satisfied with the functionality of their devices, received an excellent replacement. At the same time, their design is as similar as possible, you do not have to retrain and get used to the form factor. Associations with this phone will constantly arise, but in spite of everything the N76 will be one of the most popular phones of 2007, it is an obvious bestseller. This fact will not be affected by a relatively weak battery (700 mAh), with which, at an average load level, the device will last no more than a day and a half without recharging, nor other disadvantages of the device.

    Nokia N76 is a classic example of sacrificing ergonomics for design, however, many other fashion devices have the same drawbacks. So, opening the phone with one hand is problematic, the keyboard is also not the most convenient, the mirror insert on the front surface is prone to dirt and is difficult to clean, the information from the main screen is not readable in the sun at all, the battery life is short. If such disadvantages for you are compensated by high functionality in the minimum size of the case for a smartphone, stylish design, then Nokia N76 can be called a good purchase.

    The device has no direct rivals at the present time; Motorola KRZR K1, V6 MAXX can be considered as indirect rivals, but they are inferior in functionality, quality of screens, both internal and external, the difference is great. Also Nokia N76 can be compared with another thin smartphone manufacturer - E65, their sizes are comparable, but E65 looks preferable in terms of ergonomics, functionality (WLAN support), it provides for a long time battery life, has more interesting body materials. The subjective factor plays a big role here, N76 will be in great demand due to its low price and mass design, emphasis on the musical component.
