The wireless headset is now widely used by many people. There are a huge number of modern gadgets that can be used wirelessly to your mobile device. How you can connect a Bluetooth headset to a mobile phone will be discussed now.

Wireless headset specifications

The advantages of such devices are simply undeniable. They stand out for their outwardly attractive design and are compatible with various models of mobile electronics. They can be easily used where the telephone is simply inaccessible: in the office, on the bus, in the car. In addition, you can choose a model that is endowed with many useful features. All devices are provided with a built-in battery. It is quite light in weight. The mono headset fits easily over the ear, the stereo is worn by people like headphones. To receive a ringing, you just need to press a special button on the device case.

Preparing Bluetooth headset and smartphone

Before you dive into the world of amazing sounds and emotions, you should prepare your headphones and mobile phone for work. This can be done very easily.

Maintaining a charge on the headphone battery

It's hard to get used to it, but modern wireless headphones run on battery power and need constant recharging, just like mobile smartphone... Based on the configuration of the model, the headphones can operate on batteries, which sometimes need to be replaced with new ones, or from the built-in battery, which needs to be recharged. Headphones with a built-in battery are best kept with a power reserve of at least 40%, because at a lower value, they can go into economy mode and stop delighting their owner with the sounds of music.

How to connect wireless headphones

To set up a smartphone for headphones, you should first turn on the headset. After that, on the mobile you need to activate the module wireless... As soon as you turn on Bluetooth, the system will automatically start searching for available devices.

How to properly connect bluetooth headphones to your phone

To connect a wireless bluetooth headset to your smartphone, you must:

  • Go to settings and turn on Bluetooth;
  • Make your smartphone visible to other devices;
  • Turn on your bluetooth headset and;
  • Hold the main key on the headphones to search for a smartphone device (this is either the main power key, or a separate key for pairing, always see the instructions for your bluetooth headset);
  • After that, the smartphone should detect the headphones;
  • We select your headphones in the list of devices and try to connect.

On smartphones with Windows OS, Android and iOS, the headset connection may differ slightly. You can buy a wireless headset like a smartphone in such cities as Donetsk, Gorlovka, Makeevka with home delivery.

Outcomes

Convenience of a Bluetooth headset in front of a wired one is evident. First of all, you can get rid of the annoying confusion with long wires, and this is already a great advantage. Also, Bluetooth devices give us much more freedom of movement, especially for active people and for physical activity.

In one of the latest reviews, he talked about the bluetooth module with support for the Aptx codec and shared plans to convert the aforementioned FM headphones to the bluetooth version.

Now I want to report on the work done and the result. Briefly. Mostly in photographs.

So, there was such a product

As you can see from the photo in the first review, a board with an FM receiver, two control buttons and a variable resistor for volume control paired with a power switch is installed in the headphones, I decided not to throw out the existing filling, but use it:
- a variable resistor with a switch, like a power switch (otherwise, the module with the amplifier will gradually discharge the battery while the headphones are on the shelf);
- I decided to adapt two existing buttons to control the bluetooth module;
- FM receiver board, as a basis for placing the bluetooth module, removing a couple of interfering parts;
- and, of course, a LED to indicate the operating mode.

Three missing buttons (soldering them together for rigidity) decided to install directly from the inside of the right earcup

In the original version of the headphones, the microphone was installed in the base station. Since now the bluetooth version should be completely self-sufficient, having removed the motor-grip) from the long-broken, but saved headphones, I installed them in this project.

By the way, in the donor headphones, the microphone was also installed unsuccessfully: it was installed on the stem, as it should be, and at the base of the motogumnik, i.e. in the headphone case, which made the sound very quiet.
As you can see from the photo, this omission was corrected. Unfortunately, the microphone, with a diameter of about 5 mm, did not fully fit in and protrudes slightly, but there was no other at hand.
For three soldered tact buttons, I drilled holes in the case and fixed with hot melt glue. All connections were made with MGTF wire.
Since the module needs power, and the battery compartment is located in the left ear cup, removing the single-core wire (formerly an FM antenna) from the head groove, I laid two MGTF conductors.

I had to cut the tracks on the FM receiver board so that the switch, buttons and an LED with a current-limiting resistor could be used. Connected with the same MGTF module.
The bluetooth module is attached with double-sided tape to the underside of the FM receiver board.

In the left earcup I placed a BL-4C battery from a Nokia phone with a TP4056-based charging control module with protection (I will not describe its work here - information on its use and connection is complete in the network). To do this, I had to dismantle the contacts in the battery compartment. I glued the same double-sided tape to the bottom for attaching the controller. In the side wall of the cup, I cut out a window for connecting a charger from the phone (the compartment is closed with a decorative overlay). The battery compartment had to be cut to accommodate the battery.

The result of the work

Now the Scan button switches the track forward, Reset - the track back. Additionally installed buttons: top - volume +, bottom - volume -, middle - play, pause, and if held for 5 seconds - pairing with another bluetooth device.
After almost four hours of work, I received excellent bluetooth headphones for very modest money. I am incredibly pleased with the sound quality and communication. It is also pleasing that the appearance has been preserved and the functionality (microphone) has been added.
P.S. to implement the work of the Aptx codec embedded in the CSR8645 chip, the signal source (smartphone, computer, etc.) must also support this codec. For transmission from a computer, I used an Orico bta-403 bluetooth whistle on a CSR8510 chip.

I plan to buy +82 Add to favorites I liked the review +94 +192

Articles and Life Hacks

Bluetooth headphones and headsets for your phone are an extremely useful accessory, especially for those who have to drive for a long time. There is no need to hold a phone near your ear, especially since it is simply prohibited in many countries.

It is enough to press a button on the headset - and you can talk without taking your hands off the steering wheel. The range of models of such devices is quite extensive.

Among them there are headsets that provide high noise cancellation, headphones designed for high-quality sound reproduction, as well as simply models with long battery life.

According to most parameters, wireless headphones are not inferior to wired ones, the only thing they lose is in the autonomy of work and, of course, in cost.

Headset options

  • One of the differences is mono or stereo sound reproduction. The first option is quite sufficient for a conversation, and even more preferable in certain circumstances. The second is more suitable for listening to music.
  • The type of headphones is also an essential parameter: they can be on-ear or in-ear. The latter have more compact dimensions, while overhead systems are characterized by more high quality.
  • Headsets may also vary in time autonomous work... Depending on the type, it can vary from several hours to several days.
  • When buying, you should also pay attention to the mount. The headband is practically out of use; today, headsets are usually attached to the ear using a special flexible headband.

Shouldn't save

Unlike wired headphones, this device is quite critical to the quality of the manufacturer. Here, the most vulnerable element is the battery, which from unscrupulous manufacturers can quickly fail or have a low capacity.

The low quality of sound reproduction also causes many problems, especially for those who purchase stereo headsets for regular listening to music.

Although, of course, such devices are spared the eternal problem - breaking the wires at the plug.

The A2DP profile allows you to transmit high-quality stereo signal to a bluetooth headset. This profile is required to listen to music tracks, both from the memory of a mobile device and via the Internet.

Multipoin

A very useful function, which we recommend to pay special attention to. Multipoin will allow you to connect a headset to two devices at the same time, that is, the headset is in standby mode between two devices, as soon as one of the devices receives a call signal, the headset automatically switches to this device. When the call ends, the headset automatically returns to standby between the two devices.

If you have two phones, a phone and a tablet or a phone and a laptop, and at the same time you are talking on voice telephony on both devices, then, of course, give preference to a headset with support for the Multipoin function.

Range of action

This parameter of the bluetooth headset indicates at what distance from the "base" the bluetooth device can work, while providing a reliable and high-quality signal. As a rule, manufacturers indicate the range of the bluetooth headset signal at 10m, but in practice this parameter is rather abstract. The parameter of 10m specified by the manufacturer is abstract, since it is taken into account under ideal conditions: the absence of obstacles between the "base" and the headset, the absence of interference, etc. In reality, this parameter is about 3-5 meters, since there are often various obstacles and interference between the "base" and the headset.

Battery life

The last dialed number feature allows you to call the last person you called last by pressing one key on the headset. Thus, this is another advantage that allows you to keep your smartphone out of your pocket.

Mute the microphone

The function allows you to mute the microphone during a voice call, so that the person you are talking to does not hear what you are talking about.

Noise suppression

Noise canceling technology allows you to provide better voice transmission, trying to eliminate background noise, since the microphone in the device is quite sensitive.

Status indicator

The presence of an LED indicator will allow you to monitor the operating mode of the headset: communication with the "base" and signal loss, battery level, etc.

Display

Some models of bluetooth headsets have a display. The display shows the number or name of the caller, service symbols, signal reception level, battery charge level, etc.

Bracket with earhook

The over-the-ear attachment contributes to a more secure fit of the headset to your ear, with it you will not be afraid to make sudden head movements.

3.5mm headphone jack

For stereo headsets, manufacturers make a 3.5 mm jack in the headset itself, which allows you to connect ordinary headphones, while the headset becomes a buffer device.

By choosing Bluetooth headset for a smartphone, be sure to check it by synchronizing with your phone. It so happens that sometimes both devices can be serviceable, but for some reason, when interacting, they will have errors. Therefore, check: how quickly the devices are synchronized and the signal quality. Make a call after testing the connection quality.

Also check the quality of the headset itself. All parts must be firmly connected to each other, and the buttons must not wobble.

How to choose a headset for your phone

It is best to choose a headset for a phone from the same company as the phone itself, since the interaction between devices of the same company will be very good. Therefore, for smartphones and phones from Samsung, of course, it is best to give preference to a headset of this particular company.

How to choose a headset for your computer

For a computer, it is most correct to select a headset, first of all, based on the company of your phone, since almost all laptops are not particularly demanding on bluetooth headsets.

They were a must-have accessory for busy businessmen, for whom the convenience of talking without having to take the phone out of their pocket is very important. But today, wireless headsets are used everywhere - largely due to the significant reduction in cost, ease of use and a huge number of different models that are produced by hundreds of manufacturers.

A good headset should be secure and fit comfortably in your ears. But if, for example, you love listening to music, then you need to approach the choice from one side, and if you just need to quickly receive voice calls, then the selection criteria will be slightly different.

Below we will look at the most important characteristics of Bluetooth headsets, and then bring to your attention a dozen excellent models that are on sale in our catalog.

Key features to look out for

Traditional Bluetooth headsets, which are attached to one ear, have only one sound channel - mono. Such models are designed specifically for those who need to be constantly in touch due to their professional activities. They are very compact and lightweight (often - only about 10 g), but listening to music on such headsets in acceptable quality will not work - simply because there is only one earphone. The controls for such headsets are located directly on the body.

Stereo headsets are suitable for almost everyone - they offer high-quality two-channel sound, and usually handle calls just as well. The microphone and their controls can be located both on the body and on the wires - it all depends on the design. For obvious reasons, these models are usually heavier and not nearly as compact as traditional models.

Bluetooth version

When choosing a Bluetooth headset, you should not consider models that support protocol versions older than 3.0. Bluetooth version 3.0 and higher is enough for both a sufficiently high-quality transfer of music (as far as the protocol itself allows), and for conversations without any serious distortion. As a rule, newer versions of Bluetooth imply more economical battery consumption, but in this regard it is better to rely on reviews and tests of specific models - the battery life depends more on the battery capacity and the internal logic of the headset.

Was finalized not too long ago bluetooth standard 5.0, which is even more cost effective, but no headsets have been released with it yet.

Range of action

In 99% of cases, you will use the headset when the phone is either in your pocket or on the table. But if you are going, for example, to constantly move within the office, and the phone will be in your workplace, then the range will be an important parameter.

Almost always, manufacturers indicate the maximum range, which in real conditions is greatly reduced (up to 50%) due to walls, doors and other obstacles - this must be taken into account when choosing.

Headphone type

By the type of construction, the headsets are divided into plug-in ("plugs") and overhead.

The former are more compact and comfortable to use. Their sound was once considered to be very inferior to the sound of on-ear models, but in recent years, the development of technology has made it possible to bring its quality closer to that of "full-size" headphones. In this regard, everything strongly depends on the specific headset.

On-ear headsets offer high-quality sound - they completely cover your ears and better protect them from the outside world. In addition, they often have larger batteries. At the same time, they are more bulky and heavy.

3.5mm headphone jack

Some models (mostly overhead) have a 3.5mm audio output so that they can be used as a wired one in the event of a low battery. In addition, there are models without headphones included, which are a small plastic case with an audio output.

The presence of support for NFC technology allows you to quickly connect the headset to the phone - for this, it is enough to bring it to it at a close distance, after which pairing will occur automatically. A very useful function for those who are always pressed for time.

A2DP, AVRCP

Support for the A2DP profile allows the headset to receive a higher signal quality. For conversations this is not so important, but for listening to music it is almost necessary. At the same time, even the sound quality of A2DP is inferior to the sound quality of conventional wired headphones due to the peculiarities of the Bluetooth protocol.

The AVRCP profile allows you to remotely control media devices such as Bluetooth-enabled TVs or music centers.

Battery

Most often, Bluetooth headsets use lithium-ion batteries that are standard for the mobile device industry. They are quite capacious and provide a long talk time - up to ten hours (in some cases even more).

Lithium polymer batteries are used less often - they are more expensive, but weigh a little less. In addition, they do not take shocks well.

Additional features

If you use several smartphones at once, then the headset should support Multipoint technology, which will allow it to switch between devices without any problems.

The most demanding audiophiles can choose a headset with support for the Apt-X codec, which makes music sound almost indistinguishable from MP3 sound. Music lovers may also like a separate DSP chip that processes the signal, lowering the noise level and raising the volume.

It is worth paying attention to the number of microphones in the headset. If there are two or more of them, then additional ones are usually used to ensure the operation of the noise reduction system - this makes the sound insulation good even in "plugs". Thanks to noise cancellation, it will be easier and more enjoyable to listen to music and conduct a conversation.

Finally, fans of sports and healthy lifestyle should pay attention to headsets with a waterproof case. Most are sweat and rain resistant, and some can even be used underwater.

Nothing binds a person in his striving for freedom and independence more than wires - they entangle us, preventing us from moving without difficulties and obstacles. The fact that this is not an allegory is perhaps best known to the owners of wired headphones and headsets. However, wired headsets have long been replaced by wireless headsets based on the Bluetooth radio transmission protocol. They are called that - Bluetooth headsets.

What it is? Bluetooth headsets are devices that connect to any device with support for the Bluetooth protocol, be it a phone, smartphone, player or even a computer, and work with it as a sound output and input device, that is, in other words, headphones and a microphone.

Benefits of Bluetooth headsets in front of their wired counterparts are obvious: since the connection is carried out using radio communication, Bluetooth headsets do not "tie" you to a phone or other device, and you can freely move away from it at a distance of up to 10 meters. In addition, this headset can be easily connected to almost any Bluetooth-enabled device, while when using wired headsets, there may be problems associated with incompatibility of plugs and connectors.

All Bluetooth headsets can be roughly divided into two categories: mono headsets and stereo headsets. Mono headsets are bluetooth headsets that fit over one ear and naturally transmit exclusively mono signals. Mono headsets are the most common wireless headsets, which is why they pop up in our minds when we hear about Bluetooth headsets. Mono headsets are ideal solution for people who need a Bluetooth headset exclusively for voice transmission.

But stereo headsets perfect for lovers not only to talk, but also to listen to music. In appearance, wireless stereo headsets most of all resemble the wired headsets we all are used to - they also have two speakers and a bow between them, as well as, in some cases, a retractable microphone. Of course, stereo headsets deliver stereo sound, so they're ideal for listening to music. In addition, music lovers should be pleased with the fact that the presence of remote control keys for the player, which allows you to quickly pause music playback or switch tracks, is the de facto standard for Bluetooth stereo headsets. By the way, it should be understood that stereo headsets, for obvious reasons, are always more expensive than mono headsets with similar characteristics.

Bluetooth headsets are easy to manufacture, which is why nowadays they are made by all and sundry. Of course, even a technically savvy shopper can get confused by the variety of brands and names. However, if we analyze all manufacturers involved in the production of Bluetooth headsets, then they can be grouped into three categories: the giants of the industry, manufacturing companies mobile phones and third-tier companies.

The first category of manufacturers of Bluetooth headsets

The first category includes two companies that have made a name for themselves in the design and manufacture of Bluetooth headsets. The first is GN Great Nordic, which produces headsets under the brand name Jabra... The brand traces its history back to 1983, when there was no talk of Bluetooth yet, but it gained well-deserved fame among the people in 2000, when it was released the world's first Bluetooth headset - Jabra BT100... Since then, the Jabra brand has been to the Bluetooth headset market what the Nokia brand is to the mobile phone market, and the Windows brand is to the operating system market. However, when buying budget models for a "big name", the buyer will not have to pay too much: for example, one of the company's budget models, Jabra BT2080, costs a little less than 1000 rubles, which is not bad, given the rather good quality of voice transmission.

However, the main attention, of course, should be paid to more expensive models. The best Jabra mono headset certainly is Stone2, the successor to the equally remarkable Stone model. Jabra Stone2, like just Stone, has a chic design: if you insert the headset into the docking station, which is also an autonomous charger, then together they will look like a stone polished by sea water. It should be noted that, despite the extravagant appearance, Stone2 sits in the ear quite comfortably and firmly. As befits a high-end Bluetooth headset, the Stone2 has a voice menu and advanced noise cancellation. Perhaps the only drawback of this headset is its price - almost 5,000 rubles.

The second company of the wireless headset market worthy of our close attention is Aliph, which manufactures headsets under the brand Jawbone... If Jabra attracts its customers mainly by the exquisite design of its models, then Jawbone "takes" by the number of technologies used and built-in functions. The most advanced devices of the company are Bluetooth-headsets of the Icon series.

What technologies are used in the representatives of this series? Firstly, it is, of course, the proprietary noise reduction system NoiseAssasin, which picks up the vibrations of the temporal bone of the skull during a conversation. Using NoiseAssasin allows you to get rid of almost all extraneous noise, while not distorting the voice, as competitors' products using similar technology do. Secondly, it is a voice menu system with support for MyTALK technology, which allows you to install various voice applications in the headset memory. And, of course, the Jawbone Icon series products also include other interesting technologies, from the active sensor signal Fusion wind noise suppression system to the headset charging indication on the iPhone smartphone screen. The average price for Jawbone Icon headsets is, as in the case of Stone2, 5,000 rubles.

The second category of Bluetooth headset manufacturers

Let's move on to the second category of manufacturers of bluetooth headsets... Almost every mobile phone manufacturer, from Nokia and Motorola to Apple, has one or more Bluetooth headsets in their product range designed to work with their own phones. Note that Bluetooth headsets from one company in most cases are perfect for phones from another, as well as computers, players and other Bluetooth devices. However, it is better to use a headset with a phone of the same brand, since this, firstly, guarantees full compatibility between the phone and the headset, and, secondly, ensures the unity of the corporate identity, which is also important. For example, Samsung has addressed the HM3100 headset released by it to all owners of the most popular Samsung Star series phones, making it in the same style as the phones of the "star" line. The headset itself is a pretty good product, but its price, which is about 1,700 rubles, is somewhat overpriced. So, a headset with a similar characteristics from Nokia, BT-750, can be easily bought for 750 rubles.

The third category of manufacturers of Bluetooth headsets

Finally, there are a number of companies producing wireless headsets, whose representatives are not very well-known companies, such as Texet, Ritmix, Defender and others. Bluetooth headsets marketed under their brands, have a low price and do not please the buyer with an abundance of additional functions; however, in the budget segment, they are almost always ideal devices in terms of price-quality ratio. So, the stereo-headset Defender HN-B601 not only has a fairly high-quality case and an average price of 1,100 rubles, but also boasts a solid case for transportation.

Outcome

So, a Bluetooth headset is a must-have thing, so if you don't have a wireless headset yet, you should get one immediately. There is no shortage of wireless headsets, so you can always find what works best for your ears, your wallet and, of course, for you personally.

The best bluetooth headset for a phone - has a high-quality speaker and microphone sound, battery life from 5 to 10 hours, comfort, lightness up to 10 grams, noise cancellation / isolation, convenient control and attractive appearance. A high-quality, wireless Bluetooth headset for your phone, nothing else is needed. 🙂

On the bluetooth headset market, the picture is rather sad and it is difficult to buy a really high-quality model. Wireless Bluetooth Headset for iPhone

These are in-ear headphones

Apple does not manufacture Bluetooth mono headsets, but only and. There are, of course, more models, but they are unsuccessful, to put it mildly, and we will not touch on them. As a wireless Bluetooth headset for iPhone, Airpods are perfect... This is an improved version of the Earpods and is also wireless. In them, the functionality is very convenient, and the sound quality is at an excellent level. Airpods can be used both as a mono headset (there is a separate mode for the 1st earphone) and as a stereo headset for music. The headphones made a lot of noise, but still lived up to expectations. The only downside is the $ 220 price tag. 😐

In my personal opinion, despite all the innovative features, the headphones don't justify their money.

Mini wireless bluetooth headset - for phone:

Mini bluetooth headset

A wireless mini Bluetooth headset for your phone is the very micro-earpiece or just a miniature headset. The smallest and highest quality mono headsets are manufactured by Jabra. Below are several miniature models.

If you are looking for an almost invisible headset for a special operation 😀, but you need a micro-earpiece. Unfortunately, there is no voice transmission function in it, but the reception works fine. Here's a whole one.

Stereo Bluetooth headset (headphones) - for music:

Jabra BT2035 wireless headset - lightweight and compact

  • Sound... The headset reproduces and transmits sound in very good quality.
  • Comfortable fit... Weight is only 8 grams!
  • Enough profitable price for such a device.
  • Functional... There is a volume control button! There is support for: Multipoint, auto volume control, DSP, last number repeat. There is a noise reduction in the microphone.

Minuses:

  • This headset cannot boast of a particularly capacious battery. 192 hours of standby time, while the previous small model had 200 hours.
  • Too sensitive call button, which is often accidentally pressed in a pocket or headdress (the last number is dialed).

It is difficult for a modern person to imagine life without a mobile phone. But there are situations when it is inconvenient to use a mobile phone, for example, when driving a car. In such situations, such a thing as a bluetooth headset helps out! This device allows you to free your hands by being able to connect to various types of devices that support the Bluetooth protocol.

Connection is possible:

To the phone;
- to a smartphone;
- to the computer;
- to the player, etc.

The Bluetooth headset works with the listed devices as a "device" that outputs and inputs sound, in simple words - as a microphone and headphones.
If you need to purchase such a device, you are faced with the question: "How to choose a Bluetooth headset?" Let's try to figure it out and help you answer this question.

What should you consider when choosing a Bluetooth headset?

All bluetooth headsets are divided into 2 main types:

Mono headsets (transmit a mono signal; suitable for those who need and only need voice transmission);
- stereo headsets (transmit sound in stereo; suitable for listening to music; some models have a retractable microphone).

Thus, when choosing a headset, first of all, you should decide on the type.

Earbuds (inserted into the ears),
- overhead (fixed with a bow);
- plug-in (inserted into the ear).

The next point is the talk time of the bluetooth. Today, models are presented that work from 4 to 9 hours in this mode.
In addition, there are a number of other points to look out for in the selection process.

1. Dimensions and weight. If you use your phone a lot and for a long time, then a bluetooth headset should be light and comfortable.
2. The size of the headset bow. This moment is especially important for those who wear glasses. Try on the device and decide if it is convenient for you.
3. Interface version. The choice of the version depends on the data transfer rate, signal quality, etc.
4. Charging time. Modern headsets can be charged in 2 hours.
5. Functionality. The presence of the "voice dialing" function, call hold, etc.

Bluetooth headset: advantages and disadvantages

The advantages are:

Wireless technology;
- long distance of use;
- the ability to free your hands;
- the ability to connect to any device that supports the Bluetooth protocol;
- simplicity and ease of use, etc.

Among the disadvantages are:

  1. Bluetooth headset type.

There are two main types of bluetooth headsets in terms of the number of sound channels - mono and stereo. V mono bluetooth headsets- only one channel of sound. V stereo bluetooth headset there are two such channels.

For ordinary conversations, an inexpensive mono Bluetooth headset is quite enough, but for listening to music it is better to use stereo, here you can be guided by your needs.

Of course, listening to music through a bluetooth headset may not be as cool as through full-fledged ones, but the lack of wires can compensate for this.

  1. Bluetooth specification.

Bluetooth, as a method of transmitting information, has already had a history of updates and enhancements. The first version was Bluetooth 1.0, nowadays versions from 2.0 and higher are mainly used.

The difference between the versions lies in such basic characteristics as the range and speed of information transmission, as well as the level of energy use.

The higher the version, the the best characteristics she possesses.

When choosing a Bluetooth headset, you need to pay attention to its Bluetooth version and the Bluetooth version of your phone. Bluetooth versions are backward compatible, that is, a Bluetooth 3.0 headset will work with Bluetooth 2.1 as well.

  1. Headset weight

A Bluetooth headset is an accessory that must be worn directly on such an important organ as the head or, more precisely, on the ear.

It is clear that the weight of the device matters in terms of ergonomics and convenience. Here you need to know this pattern - the less the headset weighs, the less bells and whistles it contains, and also the less time it will work without recharging, which is due to the size of the battery. Small bluetooth headsets are compact, but they may not have a very comfortable mount.

So, it is not always worth chasing weight loss, a couple of extra grams of the weather will not make it, however, such a device can be more efficient in use. It is better to pay attention when buying a Bluetooth headset to the convenience of its shape and attachment.

  1. Battery life.

The battery life of a Bluetooth headset is essentially the same as the battery life of a phone. If the battery "runs out", then you will not be able to use the headset, therefore the battery for a bluetooth headset is a very important detail.

The best Bluetooth headset there will be one with a battery that lasts longer.

On average, the headset can work without recharging for 5-7 hours of talk time and 5-7 days in standby mode.

  1. Additional functions.

The main additional features of bluetooth headsets the following can be considered:

  • Multipoint. The Multipoint function (translated as multipoint) allows you to connect one headset to two phones, which can be very useful for people who use more than one device.
  • Voice control... This control allows you to use the headset using voice commands, rather than pressing buttons.
  • Replaceable panels. Changing headset panels in unison with a hairdo or headdress can be an interesting nuance to the look of its wearer.

Let's also have a quick look how to connect a bluetooth headset.

First, you need to turn on both the phone and the headset, the phone must have Bluetooth enabled and visibility for everyone. In many cases, the bluetooth headset will connect automatically.

If this does not happen, you need to activate the search mode on the headset (often you need to press and hold the power button for this), and then turn on the search for devices on the phone.

When the phone detects the headset, you need to connect to it and enter the headset pin code (most often 0000 or another code specified in the instructions).

Prices and assortment can be found in Netov stores.

Well, I wish you to acquire the most best bluetooth headset.

The use of mobile phones while driving is prohibited by law. And such a norm is fully justified, when talking, the driver is distracted from the road and one hand is busy with the phone. This situation can arise not only in cars, but also anywhere else, where it is necessary for two hands to be free.

Of course, you can use the headphones that come with the phone, but problems can arise with the wires. Therefore, a more convenient option would be to use a Bluetooth headset. What is a Bluetooth headset? This name hides a headset with a microphone and headphones, which uses Bluetooth to transmit information.

Varieties of Bluetooth headsets

By the number of sound channels, mono and stereo devices are distinguished. Accordingly, a mono bluetooth headset comes with one sound channel, and a stereo one - with two. The choice of a bluetooth headset should be carried out depending on the purpose - a mono headset would be a good option for communication on the phone, and it is better to play music through stereo. Yes, it cannot be compared with full-fledged headphones, but the advantage in the absence of wires tempts many.

Bluetooth Features

Bluetooth has been used as a data transfer method for more than a year, so it has been updated and improved. The first Bluetooth had version 1.0, now they use versions starting from 2.0 and higher. The versions differ from each other depending on the range and data transfer rate. In addition, an important fact is energy consumption. Naturally, the higher version will have the best characteristics. When choosing a Bluetooth headset, pay attention to which version of Bluetooth the headset has and the phone for which it will be used. The Bluetooth versions are backward compatible. At the moment, it is preferable to choose a Bluetooth headset with version 2.0.

How much does a Bluetooth headset weigh?

The accessory in the form of a Bluetooth headset is worn on the ear, so it should not cause discomfort. Therefore, the weight of the device depends on how ergonomic and comfortable it will be. It is important to understand the pattern: if the device is lighter, it will contain fewer modifications, and the battery life will be reduced due to the size of the battery. The advantage of small headsets is their compactness, but they can be inconvenient to attach. Therefore, when buying, you should not rely solely on the weight of the device, pay attention to the convenience of the form and fasteners.

Autonomy of Bluetooth headsets

The battery life of the headset is comparable to the battery life of phones. If the battery is discharged, the headset cannot be used, therefore the role of the battery is very significant. The best option for a Bluetooth headset would be with a long battery life in stand-alone mode. The average battery life of the headset is 5-7 hours.

Auxiliary options

  • The auxiliary functions of Bluetooth headsets include the following:
  • Multipoint. The multipoint option allows the headsets to be connected to multiple mobile devices. This function is convenient for those who use multiple mobile phones.
  • Voice control option. Facilitates control of the headset, instead of pressing buttons, you can use voice commands.
  • The presence of replaceable panels. The ability to change the panels of the device is convenient because you can change the design in accordance with the hairstyle or headgear.

Bluetooth headset connection

The first step is to turn on your mobile device and headset. On your mobile device, turn on bluetooth and see if the visibility option is turned on for everyone. As a rule, the device is connected in automatic mode. If the headset is not connected, then you need to activate the search mode on it, then turn on the search for devices on your mobile phone. After the phone detects the headset, you need to connect and enter the Bluetooth code of the device, which is indicated in the instructions. Such an assistant will help make your life easier ..

Let's not talk about how to use Bluetooth for household appliances, we are now interested in how to choose the optimal bluetooth headset for a mobile phone. Many of its advantages speak for the use of such a device, for example, compactness and ease of use. But, apart from ordinary users, the bluetooth headset was especially appreciated by drivers, who are now obliged by the traffic rules to use a hands free device while driving, first of all, a bluetooth headset.

So, how to choose a BTE device to meet requirements such as good design, wide functionality and decent technical characteristics.

Appearance of a bluetooth headset

When choosing a bluetooth headset, as well as a mobile phone, the appearance of this device is an important factor. If you are primarily concerned about the stylish look of your behind-the-ear device, then the mobile phone market provides a fairly large selection of fashionable bluetooth headsets. For example, with an unusual mount against the background of others, an elegant and beautiful device that will be appreciated by women, as well as Nokia BH-803, a headset of an original form in an iron case.

And yet, in addition to the stylish look, a bluetooth headset should be comfortable to use (simple and easy to attach behind the ear) and also have a reasonable weight (this is especially true for those who wear a bluetooth headset almost all day). Like a headset Samsung WEP350, which weighs 7.1 g with a case thickness of 5.9 mm. Model Nokia BH-102 weighing about 11 g fits comfortably and firmly on the ear and looks quite stylish at the same time.

When choosing a headset, special attention should be paid to the bow. The main thing is that its shape fits comfortably to your ear, does not fall off, and the material from which it is made would be durable and functional. Bluetooth headset Sony Ericsson HBH-300 has an interesting and convenient fastening of the bow on the hinge, which does not allow the headset to fly off with sudden movements.

Most earhooks have a flexible structure that can be easily bent for comfortable wearing. There is also a bluetooth headset that is attached to the ear by means of a speaker, for example, a model that does not have an ear hook, and the attachment is possible thanks to a soft gel insert, due to which the headset is fixed inside the ear.

There are also headsets that will be more appreciated by those who like to “take music with them”. We are talking about stereo headphones, which are not only a stylish accessory in themselves, but can also satisfy the music lover's needs of their owners. The time for listening to music in such headphones, as well as the talk time, is limited to 11 hours.

When choosing a bluetooth headset by its appearance, do not forget to test different models, try them on and compare. Do not forget about such a nice feature of modern headsets: they will fit the phone of any manufacturer. And yet, to be sure, try the headset with your mobile phone.

From the technical characteristics of the bluetooth headset, we are more interested in the operating time of this device, which is associated with the capacity of its battery... In addition to batteries, the operating conditions of the device also play an important role in the efficient operation of the device, including the distance from the bluetooth headset to the phone, the shorter it is, the longer the battery charge is consumed.

Nowadays, solar-powered Bluetooth headsets have been invented, such as the Iqua Sun Bluetooth Headset, which last up to 200 hours of standby time. If we are talking about a headset with rechargeable batteries, then the standard standby time of this device (with a full charge and in the absence of calls) is on average 4 to 8 days (100-200 hours). For example, the model has a standby performance higher than the average: up to 300 hours.

When choosing a headset, also pay attention to charging duration her batteries. It's nice to know that the battery quickly recovers its "strength", and sometimes fast charging badly needed. It is also convenient when the Bluetooth headset can be recharged via the USB port, in this case you will not depend on simple power outlets, but can connect and charge your behind-the-ear headset from a laptop or stationary PC.

In order for a conversation via a bluetooth headset to take place, it is important that the device skillfully adjust the sound level in the speaker according to the situation. Many modern headsets have this skill, which very quickly increase the volume of the conversation sound if you are talking on a mobile in a noisy environment. Such headsets include the Plantronics Discovery 925, which is equipped with noise cancellation technology, which can also automatically adjust the sound in the speaker based on the external conditions.

Perhaps the main characteristic of a bluetooth headset is range of its action, that is, the distance from the mobile phone within which clear and stable reception is possible. Despite the fact that the manufacturers of the garnish indicate the range of its action equal to 10 m, in fact this figure turns out to be slightly less than the declared one.

Also, the bluetooth headsets on the market today can be divided into types such as mono headsets and stereo headsets... The first type - for example, an inexpensive headset Motorola HS-820- makes it possible to carry out a telephone conversation, is characterized by low energy consumption, has the possibility of voice dialing and demonstrates high sound quality.

Stereo headset, the aforementioned stereo headphones have an extended list of features. These devices include the Plantronics Voyager 855, which give their owner the opportunity to talk on a mobile phone and listen to music. About the real sound quality that such stereo headsets give, it is worth asking those who have experience in using a particular device.

The benefits of using a bluetooth headset are obvious: this is a convenient device that frees your hands if you have to talk a lot on your mobile phone. This is extremely important when you are also driving a car. When choosing a device, first collect a maximum of responses about the functioning of a particular headset, and also do not neglect the opportunity to test it in a store and ask the seller about the features of its work.

The importance of typefaces is often underestimated. Many freelance IT and tech support professionals spend myriad man-hours communicating with customers and users via voice messengers and VoIP. But few people think about the important role played by the purity and high quality of the sound that their interlocutors hear. But this can subconsciously influence their attitude towards you, towards your company and products. And to help our fellow IT specialists, we want to give a number of tips that should be followed when choosing headsets and other equipment for voice communication.

Five “nots” for professional voice calls

Let's start with some basic tips on exactly what no need do when choosing equipment if your work involves frequent negotiations using voice messengers, VoIP, etc.
  • Don't rely on the headsets that come with anything. Only in rare cases can complete devices boast of high quality.
  • Don't buy the cheapest models. After all, a developer can afford a good thing.
  • Don't forget about the people around you. Nobody wants to hear your conversations or music because of the poor soundproofing of your headset.
  • Don't buy wireless models in the lower price range.
  • Don't be satisfied with “good enough” sound quality.
If you are a professional, then your speech should be professional, and you should "sound" for the interlocutors of high quality, and not mediocre. Even with a fresh laptop and flagship smartphone do not rely on standard equipment to communicate with customers and users. Sound cards and built-in microphones simply do not provide the desired sound quality. If this were not the case, the audio equipment market would not have been as developed.

Of course, laptop microphones are quite sensitive and transmit your voice well, but at the same time, your interlocutors will hear a lot of extraneous sounds and noises emitted by your environment. Probably, it makes no sense to describe to you all the disadvantages of built-in microphones when organizing professional audio communication. As for the "smartphone-wired headset" bundle, it can be used for lack of a better one. However, most of the bundled headsets have a rather short cord, which is inconvenient from an ergonomic point of view, especially with frequent use.

If you "cheat" and buy a cheap headset with a long cord, then keep in mind that the joy of saving will quickly pass, but the poor quality of the product will stay with you for a long time. Do not think that you are being asked to shell out a lot of money for a pretentious device, quite decent headsets can be bought relatively inexpensively.

If you have already purchased excellent equipment, but your interlocutors still periodically note low sound quality? It is probably worthwhile to carefully analyze your environment in terms of the presence of extraneous noise, echo formation, heavy air movement (winds and strong drafts).

If you work from home, a wireless headset can be a great help. For example, you will be able to discuss work issues while doing housework along the way, drinking tea / coffee in the kitchen, or looking after children and pets. True, many wireless headsets do not look very attractive, especially the cheap ones. Also important is the battery life. In general, if you make several calls every day, and spend hours discussing work and personal matters, then it is better to choose a wired headset. Well, or have it as a spare, in case of an unexpected discharge of the wireless headset.

So, you have a good headset and there are no problems with extraneous noise... Now you need to achieve a decent sound quality. After all, if you regularly communicate with clients, then it is better to exclude the possibility of loss and distortion of speech, this will not benefit your image of a professional.

Headset selection

Unfortunately, there is hardly a one-size-fits-all solution for every need. Otherwise, this post would be very short. We all have different needs and habits, so when choosing the right model, answer a number of questions:
  • Will you use the headset in one place, at home or in the office?
  • How often do you travel and work on the road?
  • Do you prefer to work outdoors, in a cafe, on a veranda?
  • How often do you receive and make calls, use conference calls?
  • How much time per day and per week do you spend on voice communication?
  • Will you be using your headset on different hardware platforms?
  • Do you need to simultaneously communicate with your colleagues or loved ones during calls?
  • Do you need a headset with one or two earbuds?
If you work exclusively or mostly in the office or at home, then you are unlikely to have trouble finding the right headset. You are in control of your environment, always use the same devices, the background noise level is probably low. It is unlikely that you will need a noise canceling headset or microphone.

On the other hand, if you travel a lot and consider yourself a digital nomad, choosing a good headset will be a little more difficult. Chances are, you want a compact enough model that won't take up half of your backpack. For example, plug-in type (with earbuds). Also, the headset must be compatible with different platforms. For wired headsets this is not a problem, but in the case of bluetooth headsets it is better to check the specification ahead of time.

If you work in different places, then it is worth looking into headsets with noise canceling and windproof microphone. There are two options here: active noise canceling or an external passive noise canceling microphone. Each solution has its pros and cons. Active noise canceling can be used in very compact headsets, but such models are noticeably more expensive. Passive noise cancellation is much cheaper and more stable, but in this case you have to put up with a sticking microphone.

When choosing a headset, it is very important to keep in mind how often and for how long you will be talking. If you need to make or receive calls a couple of times a week, the ergonomics and battery capacity of wireless headsets are clearly not the most important criteria. But with daily calls, when you spend hours discussing work issues with clients and colleagues, ergonomics and comfort of wearing and use come to the fore, and it is better not to look at wireless models at all.

Pay special attention to battery life if you plan to bring a Bluetooth headset. Also, it will not be superfluous to find out how simple the procedure for pairing a headset with a phone, tablet or computer is. This can be important for those who need to quickly connect a headset in order to make a call as soon as possible.

And finally, if you are not working alone and you need to hear colleagues during calls, then you should answer yourself an additional question: your colleagues will take part in conference calls with you, or you will communicate with interlocutors on your own, if necessary, contacting advice and tips to others? It might make sense to set up a separate meeting room with appropriate audio equipment. Or, you just need to limit yourself to a headset with one earphone to freely hear your colleagues. And for those who are uncomfortable sitting with one earphone, or need to keep their hair, you should take a closer look at bone conduction headsets. However, they are not suitable for everyone. They are usually wireless, with a headband around the back of the head / neck and are intended for those with an active lifestyle.

Ergonomics

The issue of ergonomics needs to be approached very thoughtfully if you spend several hours a week on voice communications. We all have different head sizes, our own features of the structure of the skull and ears. A headset headband that is too tight or the ear cups are too small can cause your ears to hurt soon. Pay attention to the convenience of adjusting the headphones of the headset if you choose the classic configuration. If you wear glasses, consider if the headset will create discomfort by pressing on the temples.

If size and weight are of great importance to you, then choose a headset with in-ear or "clips". The former are more popular due to their compactness and, in general, their lower price. But in the overwhelming majority of cases, such headsets have a rather short cord, since they are designed for use with smartphones. This means that you will probably be uncomfortable using such a headset with a laptop or desktop computer.

Large on-ear headphones and expansion microphones are often the most comfortable and sound-isolating feature for gamers. Most professional headsets have this design. Therefore, decide if you are willing to put up with the large size and weight of the overhead headset. Better not to choose from the smallest models with small cups. Better then take a better quality headset with in-ear headphones or a headband around the back of the head / neck.

Many wireless headsets offer excellent ergonomics because they do not wire the user to a computer or smartphone. Modern models using Bluetooth 4.0 are very compact and can be in-ear headphones of the usual size with a small microphone and remote control. In general, good Bluetooth headsets last longer on battery life than regular wireless ones. Professional models are often equipped with an expansion microphone with noise canceling function. But they are also more expensive.

Well-equipped call centers use headsets with external microphones that have a noise canceling function, are reliable, with good ergonomics. Often these headsets can be connected via USB or Bluetooth. However, the best professional models are not cheap, well over $ 200.

If you are a gamer and do not use voice communication too often on work issues, then you can save money and use a gaming headset. They are usually bulky, have good sound quality, but not the most quality microphones... From manufacturers in this case, we can recommend Logitech, Sennheiser, Razer, SteelSeries.

Standard smartphone headsets are popular among freelancers who often move from place to place. But they usually have a number of disadvantages: a short cord and a mediocre microphone. In addition, the microphone is usually located in the remote control, and if it is not equipped with a clip for attaching to clothes, then friction of the remote control against the fabric will create unpleasant noises.

If you decide to take a relatively inexpensive Bluetooth headset, and especially if you travel a lot, then take care of purchasing an external universal battery for recharging so as not to be left without the headset during an important call or shortly before it. Professional models usually last longer than consumer models, but even then risk cannot be dismissed. In addition, batteries degrade over time and lose capacity.

If you periodically need your colleagues to take part in the conversation, you can purchase an intercom Bluetooth device. You will hardly find professional models among them, but some have quite good quality of speakers and microphone. Either way, it shouldn't be your primary means of communicating with customers.

Clean, loud, professional

So, let's summarize all of the above.
  • Avoid very cheap models, this is the case when it is better not to save money. You’re not buying a headset for the gym, but a tool for communicating with customers. And it’s in your best interest to ensure that equipment flaws do not affect the perception of you as a professional.
  • "Good enough" quality not good enough to communicate with clients.
  • Decide on your needs and wishes before you start choosing a headset.
  • When choosing, proceed, first of all, from how customers will perceive you.
  • Always have a spare headset on hand. Is always.
Last but not least, no matter how chic your equipment is, nothing is more important than good old fashioned etiquette and good communication skills.
