- Перед прошивкой телефона зарядите его. Желательно полностью.
- Также не забудьте сохранить копию контактов, SMS и всего, что считаете нужным.
- Убедитесь, что у вас достаточно прямые руки 🙂

Если прошивка состоит из единого файла (обычно с расширением.tar), весь его не распаковывая так и вставляем в строку PDA . ODIN разберется.
Восстановление трехкнопочного входа в Download-mode для Galaxy S С помощью Kies
Некоторые Galaxy S не переходят в загрузочный режим при зажатии клавиш Громкость вниз + Домой + Выключение. Достоверно неизвестно, является ли это обычным багом (недочетом), либо умышленным ходом компании, но это желательно поскорее исправить. В противном случае вы не просто не сможете обновить прошивку смартфона посредством скачанного из сети файла, но и рискуете получить «кирпич» при повреждении системных файлов. Восстановления такого кирпича невозможно никак!
С другой стороны не беритесь за указанные ниже действия, если не уверены в своих познаниях в теме. Ибо, в конце концов, вы можете получить тот же таки кирпич, но намного раньше. Администрация сайта за ваши действия ответственности не несет.
Способ с использованием Kies (считается более надежным)
- Запускаем , подключаем смартфон в режиме Kies к компьютеру
- Скачиваем файл и запускаем его на компьютере. >>> Скачать
- В Kies выбираем «Обновить микропрограмму».
Теперь объясню, что мы сделали. Мы заставили Kies думать, что вы живете в Канаде. Он находит «правильную» прошивку для Bell/Vibrant и прошивает ее вместе с бутлоадером. Естественно, вам не слишком интересно сидеть с канадской прошивкой, посему сразу после этого прошиваем ODIN-ом обычную.
Не забывайте, что запускать файл реестра нужно после подключения телефона. Заходить в загрузочный режим не нужно.
Если вы предпочитаете все делать ручками – вместо запуска файла реестра ручками находим ветку HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB. В ней подпункты идут последовательно – 1, 2, 3, … n. Найдите самый последний из них с вашей версией прошивки (в рег-файле это 6-й). Откорректируйте следующие ключи в этом каталоге:

В ветке HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies замените "Region"="CA".
Если при прошивки телефон завис на factoryfs.rfs и тело не реагирует вообще:
1. вынимаешь батарею на 5 минут, вставляешь. телефон не включаешь.
2. В комп (только в комп, не в телефон) вставляешь дата-кабель.
3. зажимаешь обе громкости и вставляешь кабель в телефон (на повер не нажимай, должен сам включиться).
4. через 1-2 сек должен появиться робот с лопатой.
3. Установка русского Android 2.2 из I897UCJH7:
- прошиваем последнюю официальную прошивку
- берём файл factoryfs.rfs, взятый из прошивки I9000XWJPA
- Открываем.tar-архив вашим архиватором и удаляем всё, кроме файла factoryfs.rfs , и сохраняем архив в таком виде
- прошиваем в Odin"е как PDA с PIT 512 , галочку Re-partition НЕ ставить

F - полная прошивка, которая содержит 3 (или 4) файла и пригодится если телефон "глючит" или нужно полностью обновить версию Android. Подробнее по прошивке см. выше.
Прошу иметь ввиду, что у администратора нет возможности сейчас испытать прошивку этих "заморских" устройств. Пожалуйста, будьте предельно внимательны. Также будут очень кстати отзывы тех, кто пытался и у кого получилось или нет. !

Backup and Other Important Tips
Done with the USB drivers? Perfect. The tutorial is on the next page, but first, please take a look at the following tips and important points you need to take care of. These are important, as we don’t want anyone losing their personal data or apps:
Always backup your important data that you might need after you install a new custom ROM, an official software update or anything else. Make a backup for just in case, you never know when anything might go wrong. See below for some tips on how to backup data:
- Backup your Apps. How? –> .
- Backup your SMS messages. How? –> .
- Backup Contacts, Gmail and Google Data. How? –> Sync with Google Sync.
- Backup Call History. How? –> .
- Backup WhatsApp Messages. How? –> .
- Backup APN Settings: GPRS, 3G, MMS Settings. How? Note down everything from: Settings > Wireless & Networks (More…) > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
AT&T users can also back up data using AT&T KIES. If you backup data manually, you get more options what to choose from and it is very easy to move data across Android devices from different manufacturers, i.e moving AT&T Galaxy Note backup data to HTC One X.
If you already have a custom recovery (ClockworkMod, TWRP etc.) installed on your phone, we strongly recommend a backup using that as it creates a complete image of your existing phone set up.
A few more optional tips that you should remember:
1. Having problems connecting your Android phone to the computer? You need to enable USB debugging mode. See here: — for Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean.
2. Make sure your Android device is charged up to 80-85% battery level. This might help you: . Why? Because, if your phone goes off suddenly while installing a custom ROM, flashing an official firmware update or installing mods etc. — your phone might get bricked or go dead permanently. No one wants that, right?
4. Most of the tutorials and how-to guides on Team Android are for factory unlocked Android phones and tablets. We recommend NOT to try our guides if your phone is locked to a carrier, unless we have specified the carrier name or device model.

It has not been long ago since the Android 2.3 Gingerbread firmware update for the Samsung Captivate was released, and now an Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich custom ROM for the Captivate is finally available.
However, this ICS firmware for the Captivate is unofficial and Samsung Electronics has left us with no clue on when the official ICS update will be coming.

Take note that this is unofficial ICS firmware for the Samsung Captivate and it is only applicable to rooted phones. When you root your phone you will not be able to claim warranty anymore. Another thing is that this firmware should not be applied if your device is network-locked. Doing so may cause your phone to be bricked. Also, this guide is only for the model I897 of the Samsung Captivate.
Requirements
Let’s go through all the things that you will need for applying this firmware on your device. Make sure that you don’t miss out on anything listed below before you proceed to the installation instructions.
- Root your Samsung Captivate I897.
- Make a back up of all the important files and data on your phone (i.e. SMS, contacts, notes, call log, images, videos, and APN & Network settings).
- Make sure that your battery is fully charged.
- Enable USB Debugging (Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging )
- Download Android 4.0.3 ICS RC 4.2 for the Samsung Captivate.
Instructions

Here’s how to install Android 4.0.3 RC 4.2 on the Samsung Captivate I897.
- Connect your phone to your PC via the USB data cable.
- Copy the ICS firmware file from your computer to your phone’s internal storage.
- Disconnect the phone from the computer.
- Turn off your phone.
- Reboot the phone into Recovery mode. To do this, the press Volume Up key and OK button at the same time, then press the Power button.
- In Recovery mode, wipe your phone data by selecting “Wipe data/factory reset” and “Wipe cache partition” to clear the cache.
- Select “install zip from SD card “, then ” style=”font-style: italic;”>choose zip from SD card”. Choose the file that you have copied earlier.The ROM will now be flashed. Wait for it to finish.
- When it’s done, select “Go back” then select “Reboot system now”.
- To check whether the installation is successful go to Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version .
